OOC:
so am I to understand that the armor is ready or do we still need to come back?
Feb 21, 2018 1:26 pm
The gnome looks at you with large shining eyes, full of pride and joy at your words.

Truly, your words mean much. The armor fit is good, though this armor won't protect you much, being only lightweight test metal. It will be another ten-day or so to properly work all of your ore into the suit. But knowing now that the pieces fit it will be easy for me to produce the full suit. he says when you put him back down. Come back in seven days and we'll see how much progress I've made. Perhaps I can produce the full suit by then.

hahaha thank you master gnome cemos says as he slaps him on the back, giving the poor man a jostle. Well then let's wrap up here and set out. cemos waits as any last minute measurements are taken and then sets out with the group.
Feb 21, 2018 6:21 pm
alright Dustin lets go see if we can't find you an enchanter.
Feb 23, 2018 1:59 am
You all walk through the caverns, pleasantly without being attacked, assaulted, or otherwise set upon by critters. Eventually, you find yourselves entering a small cavern with a circle of stone menhirs standing in the middle of the cavern. There is a single hunched deep gnome standing with his back to you, though as you enter he turns and approaches you slowly. Welcome to the Speaking Stones. I know of you, of course. You did a great service for us, you have my thanks. How can old Gurnik help you?
Feb 23, 2018 8:10 pm
Gurnik you say, pleasure to meet you. Names cemos and my elf friend here is looking for a way to enchante his crossbow. Would you be able to help us with that? I assure you will be be a great use to your city of course.
Feb 25, 2018 11:40 am
Heartboiler slowly starts to walk in a circle around the menhirs, listening intently to see if she can hear the stones speak. She has to resist the urge tap one of the stones to see if it reacts. Meanwhile she also feels very silly for even thinking these stones can actually speak.
OOC:
should we perhaps in the end of this encounter ask the man if he knows anything more about the menhir in Rockblight and/or the gems that need to go in there to make it work? I mean, the man clearly knows his stones...
Feb 26, 2018 4:44 pm
My name is Bildaweer. Nice place you've got here. Bildaweer looks around seeing what he has for sale, if anything. He also brings up the topic of the menhir in Rockblight and whether he has any further information.
Feb 27, 2018 12:40 pm
OOC:
that's a good idea
Feb 28, 2018 3:50 am
Bildaweer, as you look around, you notice that it's really not an area with things for sale. It's much more of a holy place vibe.

Gurnik looks at you all. Well, truth be told, ages ago I would have been able to provide such an enchantment without issue. However, since the temple in what's now the Rockblight was desecrated, I find myself unable to draw on the magics. I've heard of your foray into that terrible place to deal with the medusa. Perhaps you'd chance a second visit to help restore the connection there? You'd need to take this spell gem with you, place it in the menhir in the temple. Granted, Ogrémoch’s Bane will not stand for this. Its servants will try to stop you. You must defeat these interlopers until the gem can fully awaken three temple guardians. If you can manage this, I can easily provide you all with a holy blessing. he says, presenting a pristine ruby spell gem. Bildaweer, this one looks like it would fit the menhir. It's a very strange cut, possibly because of the rarity and potential power it contains.

Heartboiler, go ahead and give me a Wisdom save real quick to see how well you resist the urge to knock on the stones (DC10).

Wisdom save first

Rolls

Wisdom save - (1d20+2)

(13) + 2 = 15

Those servants, they are the drow bitches we fought yesterday right? After a good night's sleep I'm ready for them. Heartboiler says in a deep angry tone, her hands turned into fists and a scowl on her face.
Realising she's not yet in Rockblight and a eyes are on her she quickly relaxes a bit. So uh, these stones here, how do they speak, exactly? She swings her arm out to indicate the stones, hitting the stone nearest to her with her knuckles. (Not too hard, almost as if she intended to knock on it)
Feb 28, 2018 5:59 pm
Bildaweer takes the stone, inspects and puts it away. Seems we better prepare ourselves for another battle. He says to the adventurers. Turning back to Gurnik, Do you know what Ogremach's Bane's servants might be?
Feb 28, 2018 10:50 pm
By Dumathoins Beard !?! Desecrated ground? why were we not told of this upon entering the Crypt? Surly it is my duty to restore this place to the sanctuary that it once was. cemos places his hand on the stone with your permission I will take this stone to where it needs to go.

I am up for it, it seems there is a great amount of suffering here in the Underdark. Let's cleanse this place. I know it is what Stool would want. Dustin felt that was true, Stool always stood ready to help even when he was young.

OOC:
hey Dustin! Missed you buddy

You collect your things and the five of you head off towards the Rockblight once more. When you get into the staging area, the guard from yesterday waves at you excitedly and barks out orders to get the door unlocked once more.

You head through the tunnels and soon find yourselves standing before the stone menhir. Cemos, as you enter the space, your paladin senses don't quite tingle. It would seem the area isn't properly "desecrated", but simply broke the consecration that was once on this place.

Answering some other questions.... because I'm dumb.
The servants? Ogrémoch’s Bane will not likely use something as flawed as drow statues. Not for this. I would expect the creature will send enraged earth elementals against you. They are not easy targets and Ogrémoch’s Bane will likely be cocky, thinking that only a single one is enough to deal with you. Gurnik says before turning to Cemos. It's not desecrated as the damned drow do to the areas where they worship Lolth. It's simply not a holy site any longer.

Hardboiled, as you knock on the stone, you notice that it feels very solid and not hollow. Gurnik smiles at you, much like a grandfather would to a favored child. The stones don't speak stonedaughter. They are extensions of ancient galeb duhr, guardians of this plane. When a powerful priest focuses on their magic hear, we listen to the land speak and from that, we know what may befall our community.

alright I suggest we head stright off to the statue to fix this stone in it. Unless everyone wants to finish off the drow statues first. Either way we will be needing to so both i think. cemos looks to the group before he heads off
