I suggest you do not use an axe in a barfight unless someone's life is in danger...you will be arrested by local authorities for murder, and that makes for a very boring adventure.

The man turns even more purple with rage, "I'm going hurt YOU!" He turns to his friend, still laughing uproariously at him, and yells, "Grab the little bugger!"

His friend, still chuckling, lunges forward to grab Chanler.

That was for if weapons come out I didn't know the extent of these people's anger.

Carrik slams down his drink seeing how the odds are definitely against the bard. Carrik slides over the table going into a rage, knocking Lista's drink as he goes. "Unfair fights arent very interesting you know lads. How 'bout I make it interesting."

Carrik goes in to punch the one grabbing Chanler in the back of the head. Missing as he realises how much hes drank, still adjusting to the tipsiness.

Clearly not expecting the one who hadn't already tried to hit him to do anything, Chanler tries to move closer to the wall, but only ends up cornering himself Into their grasp.

As his companion grabs the helpless bard, the large man swings a fist at his gut. His hand crunches against the leather armor beneath the bard's colourful garb, and he howls in pain.

Meanwhile, all around people are rising to their feet with cries of surprise and dismay, except for the bullies' companions, who stand to intercept Carrik. Gathering around him, the leader pokes him in the chest with a finger saying, "Keep out of it."

I'm going to go ahead and say what I'm doing on my turn even though Kal'lista is still holding her action. (I'm only going to be able to try and escape grapple so it shouldn't affect anything anyway)

Chanler starts wriggling violently and manages to escape the hold placed on him. Chanler looks over at Carrik and yells "Hey! haven't I seen you before? I heard you're good at breaking noses. You should break his!"

And with my bonus action I give Carrik a d6 Bardic Inspiration die.

So just to clarify, the group of men getting up to intercept Carrik was a held action that interrupted his. Kwo, Kal'lista can now act and then we'll have the toughs go again.

Kal'lista rolled her eyes with a soft sigh, and stepped forward. Her hands lifted to cup around her mouth and she bellowed, "is this really worth fighting over? I mean, really... Are you all this boneheaded?" She wore a deep frown, her eyes narrowing on the group.

Lista is using Thaumaturgy to make her voice 3 times as loud, and persuade the men to stop.

Giving up on trying to catch the dexterous bard, the two men swing at him instead. The angry mercenary puts all of his strength into it and manages to land a punch, but his companion is clearly only half-hearted in his attempt to hurt the bard.

The crowd around them looks angry and yells at them to stop, but are too frightened of the big men to try and intervene. From behind them, you can hear dwarven cursing as people are pushed aside from the area of the bar.

Meanwhile, the man that Carrik punched is momentarily taken aback by the volume of the sorcerer's words, but shrugs and says, "This bloke started it," and swings his fist at Carrik in return. His companions merely watch, ready to jump in if needed.

The man has clearly had way too much, and as Carrik nimbly steps aside, he overbalances and falls to the floor, knocking himself unconscious against a table leg on the way down.

"Didn't look like he started it. Either way.... I plan on finishing it." Carrik follows up with another swing towards him. His fist firmly catching his cheek, a rogue tooth flying across the inn.
