She rolled her eyes and gave a small wave of her hand. "That's the thing about trial and error... You're bound to win... One fifth of the time."
Aug 2, 2017 7:24 pm
Carrik laughs, "Bound to win one fifth of the time when it's usually 5 to 1 odds and your backup only has a cup as their weapon of choice." Carrik grabs around her shoulder and pulls her in with a playful squeeze, probably a little too tight. "Hell of a throw though, and at least you finished your drink first." Carrik begins laughing once more.

Chanler winces slightly when he's smacked on the back. After that he just continues wringing out his shirt, listens, and waits to pass out drinks once they arrive.
Aug 2, 2017 8:47 pm
When Carrik noticed Chanler wincing at his slap he lays off a little. "Fights over lad, don't be so jumpy."
Aug 2, 2017 11:41 pm
Morak gives Chanler a long look before nodding and heading off to fetch the ale. He pointedly ignores the money in Chanler's hands. Upon his return he thumps the cask down in the middle of the table with a glare at the mercenaries before stomping off once more.

OOC:
Since Morak did that, the way Chanler acted afterwards would be different than how I previously wrote. He wouldn't have really been angry about the shirt anymore, and when Carrik slapped him on the back he wouldn't have winced so much as get knocked off balance. He might've laughed some when they were talking about Carrik getting beaten and such. He just would've generally acted a little bit cheerier. Anyway- back to the game.
Assuming no one stops him, Chanler pours everyone at the table a drink. He waits until the entire table have all had their first sips, and then turns to Mica. "So what kind of music do you like?" Chanler sits up straighter in his chair, holding his lute in his lap, but not making any moves to play it.
OOC:
Can I tell if this is the good ale since I've taken a sip?

OOC:
It is the the good ale. Morak likes you, and is supporting your play here, even though he would rather trounce them and kick them out of the inn.
Aug 3, 2017 9:14 am
Mica smiles broadly, "I likes music with a bit 'o heart to it, what gets the blood pumping like a good fight does."
Aug 3, 2017 1:56 pm
Kal'lista glared at Carrik but shook her head some. Asshole. She opted to take a sip from her mug, before mumbling something about her cup being the only thing she could find.
Aug 3, 2017 5:19 pm
Carrik lays offs, so he doesn't annoy her further and looks to the mercenary group opposite them. "So, what you lads do when you aren't critiquing bards?"
Aug 3, 2017 11:50 pm
They look to their leader, who answers for the group. "We kill things for money, or stop things from killing people." He takes a deep draught of his ale. "Guarding caravans, mostly. Lots of dull waiting and discomfort interspersed with moments of abject terror."

He looks to the three of you, "And you? You don't seem to be townsfolk either."
Aug 4, 2017 12:25 am
Chanler pipes up "I- well" And strums his lute, quickly muting the strings afterwards with a glance towards Mica. "I perform here. I'll help out around the place whenever I'm not. I don't really.. leave the inn much though."
Aug 4, 2017 12:37 am
"We tend to travel to where ever the work is needed, anything from protection to delivering messages. Long as it pays well." Carrik says this elbows up on the table holding his mug of ale from the top, chin almost resting on his hands.
Aug 4, 2017 9:44 am
The man smiles sardonically at Carrik, "I'll drink to that." He lifts the mug to his lips and drinks deeply. As he lowers it and wipes his mouth he turns to Chanler, "Sorry about Myca. He's been spoiling for a fight. We haven't had a job in a while. We just stopped here on our way down to Daggersford."
Aug 4, 2017 1:49 pm
A soft snort sounded from Kal'lista, and she rolled her eyes with a frown. "You should get better at keeping your dog on a leash."

OOC:
Do I know what Daggersford is like? (I'll put an intelligence roll for that) and maybe why they might be going there? Regardless-
Chanler speaks up in an attempt to change the topic "What are you heading to Daggersford for?"
OOC:
And if I don't know anything about Daggersford-
"And what's it like there? I've never been."
OOC:
Edit: ok that's a 20 I think I'll know about Daggersford

With that roll, a whole of information...
Built on the hillside in the floodplain of the Delimbiyr River, the walled town of Daggerford is dominated by a three-story keep that belongs to its duchess, Morwen Daggerford. From atop Daggerford's walls, dozens of farms and a scattering of hamlets are visible, all under the protection of the duchess and the Lords' Alliance. There are several inns of note, including the Happy Cow, run by Koggin and Lily Hardcheese, a pair of industrious halflings, and the River Shining Tavern, which is known as a great place to pick up rumor and jobs of the less-than-savory kind.

The captains mouth quirks in a smile at Kal'lista's jibe, but he doesn't respond. Myca is oblivious to the slight as he regales Chanler with the merits of a good bawdy drinking song.

OOC:
Carrik ever been through Daggersford?
Carrik takes a bug gulp of his ale. "Daggersford eh? Good drinking there if I remember right. Must have decent coin too for you to be heading that direction." He sits waiting a response although half distracted by Myca's awful singing.

OOC:
If Mica (Myca? I don't know any more) is singing I'd like to attempt to play along. (If not though just disregard this.)
Chanler slowly starts to pick out the tune of Mica's drinking song on muted strings until he feel's like he's got it, and then tentatively lifts his palm off the strings to let them sing properly.
