At the mention of a half-dragon, Erich's attention perks up slightly. It would seem that way. Makes the position he's in very dangerous. Any chance of Myrio coming out unscathed?

Mryio stops, swaying from side to side, and squints "Oi, you're not Dave-o. Yoush wouldn't happens to know...Ah buggah, Dave-o'sh a bloody doodle, you boyo'sh want to hit the barsh with me? Firsht rounds on me. Hehehe."

The cloaked half-dragon growls once more and draws a sword from beneath the cloak, "I was hoping to keep this day bloodless aside from the little bard..." he says as he raises his blade to strike Mryio down.

Bughu doesn't want to play their hand just yet. He draws the arrow back, but holds his fire for the moment.

Ready action to shoot if Myrio cannot subdue or prevent combat, or if the half-dragon's associates show up.

Mryio sways from side to side "Oi, whash wit' the shword? If this is the route you want to choose..." He straightens out "Grovel."

The half-dragon looks shocked for a moment as the magical command pounds into its mind. Its resolve seems to waver for a moment before it straightens up and begins to bring the blade of its sword down toward Mryio.

Mryio's attempt failed, but the rest of you may still have a chance to stop him from striking your friend down!

Bughu releases his arrow, aiming at the half-dragon. "Best to capture them alive," he says to whomever is in proximity.

Assuming it hits, I'd like to use Distracting Strike to give Advantage on the next person to attack the half-dragon before the start of my next turn.

I'll try. Erich says as he grips his crystal and mutters a few words, lifting a hand up towards the sky after Bughu's arrow streaks out.

Casting sleep as a second level spell, aiming to only hit the half-dragon with it.

Bughu's arrow flies out, slicing across the half-dragon's ribcage and eliciting a grunt of pain from him.

Erich's magic washes over the beast, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on it.

The half-dragon swings his sword down at Mryio, but his aim is thrown off by Bughu's arrow and he ends up missing his target with both his first and follow-up swings.

That's it. Clearly he's not looking to back down. Erich says, feeling a tingling start to rush up his spine and down his arm. Vlamstraal! he says, thrusting his hand forward as his other moves in a complicated pattern. Three pinpoints of flame coalesce and streak out towards the half-dragon.

Casting scorching ray as a second level spell, aiming for the half-dragon. Burning 1 SP to allow a reroll of up to 3 of the damage dice for Empowered Metamagic. Because of Elemental Adept, if he's resistant to fire damage, my spells ignore that. Also, any 1s in the damage count as 2s because of the same feat.

All told, 17 fire damage. Bah. Stupid missing on two beams!

Mryio draws his maul "Last chance for you to back down before I let my friend here start negotiations." He hefts the maul, clapping it in his hand a few times "He's a lot rougher than I."

Erich's fiery magic strikes the half-dragon once and then again, scorching its clothing and making the air smell like burnt flesh.

Bughu's arrow strikes the creature in the side, and it grunts in pain again.

At Mryio's words, it growls, but drops its weapon, seeing no other alternative.

"Looks like he's giving up," says Bughu. "Head down there and see if Mryio needs help. I'll stay here on overwatch in case the dragonkin's friends show up."
