Weiryn pulls Durgrim, Darren, and Roland aside and speaks quietly to the both of them.

"I have a spell that will get us some answers from our guest, but I feel I just warn you... It is not a spell on the side of angels. We'll get two questions. If he refuses to answer, the spell will cause pain. It is also entirely possible that refusal could kill him, just as it is possible that he could resist the spell entirely if he is strong enough of body and mind. I will cast it if necessary, but I feel as though Brothers Forgehammer and Silversmith should pray to their deities before hand. They may frown on such measures."

"He is tied up good. Let's take our time and get our answers. There are a great many ways to get a man to talk."

Roland pulls a canteen and rag from his pack. He slowly takes a quick drink and then wipes the sweat from his brow.

Torag scowls at the bound werewolf. "Torag 'as no love for the creatures of the night, they ain't much deservin' of mercy. As I see it, they're more beast than men, and as you explain it it's 'is choice to die or not."

He closes his eyes and mutters something in Dwarven.

Veroth keeps an eye on the prisoner as the others talk. He leans forward and hisses, his Strix accent thick with vitroil. "You awake?
Humanss not caress for uss monsterss. They reward helpful oness like me. Otherss? We leave for the birdss to pickss at their eyesss!"

OOC:
@ Durgrim: Torag, being more of a god of the forge, creation, and dwarvenkind, Torag probably does not care too much about the fate of a handful of non-dwarven werewolves. But you are Lawful-Good after all and you'd probably feel you should at least give the creature a chance to mend its way before passing any sort of final judgement...

@Veroth: Yes, after being healed, the creature is conscious and glares at you.
At first, when you make the werewolf prisoner, Janis protests.

"Hey, what are you doing? These creatures are a plague upon this land, we should finish him and his unconscious friend over there befroe they cause any more harm."

Then when you hear you want to question him and about Weiryn's spell.

"Oh, I see, we torture them to get information about their lair, and once they outlived their usefulness, we kill them. Very nice. I like your way of thinking."

"Wait, I bear no love in my heart for those creatures, but torturing them? Isn't that going too far? If we're to kill them, I think we should do it in a merciful way such creatures would not grant us..."

Sir Urik is silent, but he does frown at the mention of Weiryn's spell.

Weiryn looks around at everyone present.

"I would prefer not to make use of this spell. Though I am not necessarily what one would call a "good" man, it does leave a bad taste in my mouth to resort to such tactics. I would honestly prefer if he would answer our questions and then go to meet his fate peacefully... However, I will not hesitate to do what is necessary to protect the people from Strahd and those under his employ. If that means resorting to a darker magic than I normally would, so be it.

To Veroth, Weiryn says: "I care greatly for all living creatures. Their actions in this life determine their place in the afterlife. It would cause me distress to resort to this action, as this is normally something I reserve for necromancers that defile the dead, in order to find and destroy their covens. This is not something I do it suggest lightly, for it could be one thing my Lady will judge against me when my time comes. For good or ill, we all have her judgement." He says the last as he looks the captive in the eye.

The bound creature snarls at Weiryn.

"I already told you, I do not fear death nor do I fear your lady's judgment. Besides, with this sickness killing our cubs and afflicting our mates, we might as well be dead already. So go ahead, use your spell and kill me, it will be a far better end than wasting away from this mysterious illness."
Dec 23, 2017 12:05 am
"Illness? What illness?"
Dec 23, 2017 1:47 am
"I do not know. It befell us suddenly a few days ago. Our pups died and our mates are slowly wasting away. We were out hunting, hoping plenty of fresh meat would help. That's when we wounded those two and set them up for an ambush hoping to kill more humans... But enough talk, kill me and be done with it."
Dec 23, 2017 2:31 am
"no, no, I don't think we will. There are great many things in life worse than death. So you start talking or I'll introduce you to a few."
Dec 23, 2017 2:32 am
OOC:
Roland would like to look at the creature to see if he can determine what Illness this is. Heal roll?

OOC:
Weiryn will also see if he can determine the type of illness based on this man's symptoms, if any, and his description.

Rolls

Heal (Illness?) - (1d20+13)

(11) + 13 = 24

@ Weiryn: This particular werewolf looks quite healthy. But then again he did mentioned it affected his pups and mates...

@ Roland: The werewolf looks at you and simply laughs in your face.

Roland removes a silver coin from his pouch. He the kicks the tied creature over on his back and puts a knee in his chest. As the creature starts to protest Roland uses his reflexes to toss the coin in his open mouth and quickly covers it with the kercheif he was wiping his sweat with. With the coin held in the creatures mouth and his mouth covered by the rag, Roland begins to slowly pour his canteen of water over the creatures face. No questions yet, just getting a message across.
Dec 23, 2017 1:37 pm
Weiryn puts a hand on Roland's shoulder and pulls him back before he starts putting the water.

"Hold one moment, brother. This one feels as though he has nothing to lose. Save your water. I have another idea."

OOC:
damn it, I really wanted to water board this fucker.
Dec 23, 2017 2:38 pm
Veroth leans backwards and watches the creature. His face is impassive but grit of his jaw betrays his reaction to the actual torture being enacted.
Dec 23, 2017 4:11 pm
"I don't think that torture is a good option here, and certainly isn't one that I'll be a part of," Darren says firmly.
