Between the ominous message from ET-14 and now Missotrav's outburst, Depra is more than a little shaken. He quickly unslings his blaster mumbling, "Kriff" as he double checks the power pack. As the droid continues with the message's location Depra steps forward and gestures down the hall, "C'mon, we'll just take the turbolift up to the transport level, it's the fastest way there." More than a little worried about what they might find, he hesitates instead of continuing on. "I uh.... wasn't really expecting anything like this."

Tov rushes past the Depra, grining too wide for the situation. "You may not have, but this is what I live for. A challenge." She reaches the turbolift and turns, waiting for the others. Her childlike excitment a little off putting given the possible situation.
Finally, a test I can pass.
Nov 16, 2017 4:35 pm
Rossa follows the others to the turbolift, glancing around at the empty and quiet room as they do. Why isn't the ET droid in any hurry, if the message is that intense?

He pauses before boarding the lift, turning to the droid. "A-and you're ET-14? The same one they're talking to?" He can sense frustration at his pause from the others, their eyes on him as he waits for the droid to respond. "Don't you think it's odd them calling for us?" He shrugs, pulling his vibro-ax from its holster on his back and and holding it before him. "I can fight, but surely there are plenty of better people to call in a pinch than me."
Nov 16, 2017 5:19 pm
The droid eye-orbs flicker, "Odd, sir? An ET-14's programming is not to interpret messages. Only relay them. A security measure I am told... I am sorry if I have displeased you, recognizing organics emotions is not my strong suit.", the droid begins its shuffling steps again toward the turbolift just as the doors rush closed.

You all feel the turbolift begin its rapid ascent, sinking your stomachs. In a matter of seconds it comes to a halt and the doors shoot open. You can hear the commotion before you can see it.

Following the sounds of a rhythmic chant, and garbled shouting, you all emerge onto a large open area populated by holoterminals projecting things like strings of transport destinations and schedules, and holo-reel news, as well as tables and seating. The open area is ringed by vendor stalls, as well as opened and closed doors to more shops, and taps, and a few restaurants. There are a few people scattered throughout the area, but everyone's attention is focused on the north east corner of the gigantic room. There you all can see a throng of people - some in the robes of Je'daii padawan, journeyers, and rangers, but mostly in the plain clothes of citizens - holding signs which are unreadable from the back, and chanting and shouting things like; 'Clan Ryo, you must go!' over and over, 'Go back to Shikakwaa!', 'Sleemos!', Krev Coeur was murder!, and so on.

And through the throng, huddled in a shop, with some chairs and a table toppled between them and the angry crowd, you see several figures in fine robes and a handful of robed Je'daii journeyers facing the mob.
Nov 16, 2017 5:57 pm
Tov approaches the robed Je'daii, haste in her steps. "What is going on?" Her smile gone, eyes watching for any signs of viloent agression.
OOC:
Rolling a Perception(not sure on the difficulty. Going woth 2) to look for violent threats, action. She is ready to go.

OOC:
I would like to use the Advantage for a boost to Initiative roll, should it come into play. Otherwise I'll let it fizzle.
OOC:
Of course this is assuming I was OK in rolling Perception.

Rolls

Perception for violent threats

2 Advantage, 2 Failure, 1 Threat

Total: 2 Failure, 1 Advantage

Nov 17, 2017 12:18 am
Artes is bewildered by the display. He tries to recall what went down on Krev Cour. He also attempts to make contact with his associates upfront. He first goes with his stubby arms before checking for an appropriate channel. He would also take note if he knows anything about the portion of the room that the crowd is strong-arming.
Nov 17, 2017 4:45 am
As he looks over the protesters and realizes that there's no real violence, Depra puts away the blaster and cautiously walks towards the throng of people. As Tov rushes past and towards the other Journeyers inside, Depra tries to get the attention of one of the protesters in the rear. "Hey, what's the big deal. I thought they were guests here?" he asks of the chanting stranger. But before any response comes, Depra reaches out with the Force to try and get a feeling of what's going on. The anger and fear of the crowd washes over him and threatens to overwhelm him, but over the cacophony Depra thinks he can understand something.
OOC:
Hooo, boy. Here comes some conflict I guess. I'd like to flip a light side point (I know I rolled at least one), and use both dark side force points in order to sense the thoughts of one of the non-Je'daii trapped in the shop (I'm assuming they're envoys). If they don't qualify as "Short" range then I'll just spend one dark side point to read this protester I've stepped up to.

Rolls

Sense Force Power

2 Black Force Points

Nov 17, 2017 11:20 pm
As the other Journeyers race in, Rossa keeps pace with ET-14. He lets the vibro-ax drop to one side, but he doesn't reholster it. "Who sent you? Is the sender of that message around somewhere?" He scans the crowd, trying to find whichever Je'daii seems to be in charge.

OOC:
Thanks for the reminder, Faust! Apex, please roll a Force die in your Character Record Sheet thread for the Session 1 Destiny Pool.

Also Apex, were you meaning to approach one of the Je'daii in the throng, or those surrounded by the throng?

As for your Advantage, it can go as a Boost to your next Skill check, if that's Initiative that's fine. But you can't "hold" it, past other checks.
Tov can see several people - primarily the Je'daii of the throng, but also some citizenry - are baring arms openly. Not wielding them, but he can easily spot blades, side arms, and non-lethal weaponry in scabbards, hangers, and holsters amongst those in the crowd. The Journeyers standing with the men and women in finery also have arms, though only two individuals are wielding theirs, and they appear to be bodyguard types wearing the emblem of Clan Ryo, they are in armored clothing and have blaster rifles leveled at the crowd. He can spot no concealed weaponry though...

...

Missotrav definitely remembers having seen something in recent weeks and months on the holo-reel about Krev Coeur and Clan Ryo... Something about Ryo-owned mining operations, and land disputes, and citizens of the planet ending up dead... The throng is a mass of bodies pressed tight, preventing easy entrance or exit from the shop, it's slow going for him to work his way through but he can manage it - it will just take some time. There is nothing overtly significant about this section of the Commons, other than that the diplomats and their guard appear to have chosen this shop to hole up in.

...
OOC:
Faust, there are 4 people in the shop that pretty much any one looks like could be a diplomat (people dressed in finery), the rest are obviously journeyers (3) or bodyguards (2). There is the potential you may have to make an opposed Discipline check - for essentially an "Adversary level" which is to say - statted - NPC. So, I'm gonna roll a d4 to see which you get, I'll edit this post to add the narrative text immediately after the rolll here.
Depra probes into the mind of the dignitary, indeed the high levels of fear, anger, and emotion strain his will but he uses them like a ladder to reach his goal...
OOC:
Indeed you need to make an Average Discipline check with one Challenge die (1 Red, 1 Purple). The way I run it, Failure will still yield a thought, but probably the least useful one he has, greater success will yield greater information.
...

Rossa has to wait several moments, as ET-14 did not make it onto the turbolift with everyone else. However the methodical droid is not too far behind, and emerges from the turbolift with his staccato metallic steps. It looks up at Rossa once the trandoshan speaks to him and processes a moment before responding, "Indeed, sir. Journeyer Allahn is the one who haled you. She is ... eh, somewhere... over there, I believe.", the droid gestures towards the throng as he continues his march.

Rolls

Random dignitary selection - (1d4)

(3) = 3

Nov 18, 2017 5:59 pm
OOC:
Any outside the confrontation. The one by finery. Gonna stay out of it for now.
I will add the boost there than. Good to know.

OOC:
The people in finery - the diplomats - are all trapped inside the shop. There are journeyers - you can assume their guardians - in there with them. There are also Je'daii - of various rank - in the protesting crowd. I gather that you want to talk to a Je'daii in the protesting crowd.

If that was not your intent, you can't really get inside the shop anyway. Without some effort and struggle.
The Je'daii stands with his arms folded his hands resting inside his sleeves, he looks to Tov for a moment, "Hm? Ah, the Ryo Syndicate...", he nods to the diplomats and journeyers inside the shop, "... think they can just walk in here to have a chat like it's pre-Conglomorate days?", he shakes his head, "They've wronged many people. Tython has family beyond Tython... And people hear, and they don't forget. Were they expecting such an overt politicial maneuver as this would go unnoticed? Vur Tepe has no secrets from Vur Tepe.", he goes back to observing the tense stand-off.
OOC:
You guys all know there is an interplanetary conglomerate called "The Nine Houses", which constitutes the strongest dissenting voice against the Je'daii. Clan Ryo is one of The Nine Houses.
Nov 18, 2017 7:20 pm
Rossa sighs, trying to follow ET-14's outstretched arm. "Somewhere. Perfect. Were you programmed to be good at anything?" He hustles over to the throng, holstering his vibro-ax.

"Allahn? Is there an Allahn here?" He pushes through the crowd, trying to get to the center. But he keeps alert, hoping that Allahn--whichever of these people she is--will hear him before he reaches the shouting people at the middle.
Nov 18, 2017 8:02 pm
OOC:
Well at least I get that boost die from before. Just going to roll and then post after the GM's response.

Rolls

Discipline (Sense thoughts)

2 Success, 2 Advantage, 4 Failure

Total: 2 Failure, 2 Advantage

Nov 18, 2017 8:47 pm
OOC:
If it makes you feel any better (or worse) Faust, you had a 3 out of 4 chance of getting a statted NPC :P

At least you can re-coup that Strain from the Dark Side pips with those Advantage? Unless you had something else in mind.
As Depra probes into the dignitaries thoughts, the male twi'lek that is his target stares wide, and wild eyed into the throng. His thoughts are clouded by fear but one flashes by distinct. Foremost in his mind is a disruptor pistol he has holstered in the small of his back...

...
OOC:
Zoom, make a Hard Resilience check, as Rossa begins pushing his way into a crowd that pushes back.

Ninja Edit: And heck, I'll flip a Destiny to upgrade it once, so 1 Red 2 Purple...

And in case anyone didn't know, you can check the status of the Destiny Pool in the OOC Resources Forum, "OOC Game Resources Thread".
Nov 18, 2017 9:23 pm
OOC:
I had actually forgotten that was part of the price of using dark side force points, so yes I'll use the advantage to recoup the strain I just took. Also are disruptor weapons still a restricted/frowned upon weapon here?
Depra turned to move through the crowd and towards the trapped party. Worried that things could escalate, and dangerously, he comes up behind Rossa and tries to help him move through the crowd faster. "We need to get these Clan Ryo folks out of here, before things get too heated," Depra tries to say just to Rossa over the sound of the crowd.
OOC:
If it's okay I'd like to give Rossa an Assist on pushing through this crowd.

OOC:
Yes, disruptor weapons are frowned upon.

And, sure, you can assist Rossa. You may be subject to consequences of the roll though as well.

That's a Boost die to your check, Zoom.
Nov 18, 2017 10:02 pm
Rossa turns back to Depra as he pushes through. "Get them out? I have a feeling they don't want to leave." He pauses a moment. Clenches a fist. Grins. "Though that doesn't mean we can't get them to leave."
OOC:
Gonna roll with Depra's assist. Ignore if I don't get it.

Rolls

Shovin'

4 Success, 6 Advantage, 3 Failure, 1 Threat

Total: 1 Success, 5 Advantage

Nov 18, 2017 10:17 pm
OOC:
Wow. Quite the roll.

Whattaya wanna do with all those Advantage?

I will assume you use one to have Allahn hear you (which she otherwise will not).

4 left: You have a Strain you could soak up? You could get an extra Maneuver out of the check? Could pass Boost die, or create other narrative effects?
A strained voices pipes up over the din, "Huh?! Who...! I am Allahn! We are here!", Rossa looks to the voice and it is coming from a female Journeyer within the shop, she stands with her arms outstretched before her, her hands open, fingers splayed - her body positioned between the throng and the diplomats.

Coming from somewhere behind Rossa, a packet of soy-mallow flies over the crowd and bursts on the toppled table. Soon after someone to the right of the crowd splashes some sort of yellow kaf-drink, the liquids barely reaching the knees of one of the dignitaries who shuffles back a few steps. A Ryo bodyguard takes an aggressive step toward the splasher, screaming at them, and gesturing with his blaster rifle...
Nov 18, 2017 10:50 pm
OOC:
Here's a crudely drawn map to give you guys an idea of the situation. Not sure how well the text description translates to theater of the mind...

Nov 19, 2017 12:53 am
OOC:
I'll take the extra maneuver to do the following (will I have any left to reduce strain?):
"Hey, hey!" Rossa says, stepping toward the bodyguard, blocking his path toward the Splasher. "Don't turn a drink into a war, friend." Still, Rossa leaves his vibro-ax behind him, firmly on his back.
OOC:
For now I want to just try talking. If he's an idiot, I'll try for some coercion.
