Oy, Wizard Elf, we're ready to leave and adventure. Stop mucking about so we can be on our way.
Nov 18, 2017 1:02 am
Feridir looks at the fellow elf.

Aha another companion to join us in our Quest, the more the merrier, now enough with all this dilly dalling time to get on with our adventure

"So who's the strongest out of you Dwarves?"

I don't know about my peers, but I've spent most of my life carving my way through the mountains near my home, cracking rocks with my warhammer, and moving boulders to suit my needs. Is that the type of strength you're asking about?

"Superb! Grab the provisions!
Nov 19, 2017 8:31 pm
You grab the provisions and the map and exit the temple, ready to begin your journey.
OOC:
I sent a PM to Grogg to tell him he's been introduced in case he missed my post. If he fails to show up soon, we'll retcon your encounter at the temple in that he was not there after all and you can encounter him on the way when/if he does shows up...

Avente' comes running up, quite out of breath, having run from the town square.

Lost yet again in an old book of incantations he had been booted twice in the shin before it finally sunk in that the burly butcher standing over him was trying to tell him yet again that the party he was to meet had left quite some time ago and was probably long gone. Jumping up, Avente' took off in a frantic run toward the temple.

Robe flying, still stuffing the old book into his pack, Avente' tries to speak.

"Wait! hff hff"
"I am hff hff"
"Elf hff hff"
"Avente' hff hff"
"Wizard by trade hff hff"
"Going with hff hff"

Avente' drops to his knees and tries wholeheartedly not to pass out.
Nov 20, 2017 7:23 pm
Berekeln taps on the shoulder of his closest companion, pointing behind him, towards the out of breath elf.

"Och, we shoods bide troaps, th' elf mage seems tae hae difficulty keepin' up wi' us."
Nov 20, 2017 10:29 pm
Well the running life isn't for anyone but we shall keep the pace low so that he doesnt pass out

And he motions for the rest of the group to start going out the city towards were we need to go to
Nov 21, 2017 9:42 am
"Ye longshanks're always tellin' us dwarves t' keep up. Now ye wan' us t' slow down? Huh. Elves." Grapthor grumbles.
Nov 22, 2017 1:29 am
Checking the map and knowing that distance to Bear Mountain Arla mentioned earlier, you estimate that your journey will take a little over 2 days. If exploring the temple proper does not take too much of your time, you estimate the total journey to take you about 5 days. Of course, some forced march on the way there or back might accelerate things, if you don't get lost, that is...
OOC:
As soon as you'll be ready, choose which character will act as the guide. This character can make a MND+IN+Hunter (If this talent is taken) check to orient the party. The map provides a +2 bonus to this check. If people want to help, anyone with an applicable talent (Hunter, Expertise:nature or forest, etc. or any other talent you feel might apply) can grant a +1 to this check as well (no need to make a roll to see if you help or not).
Nov 22, 2017 2:15 am
After finally catching his breath, Avante' surveys the group.

"My apologies for keeping you all from the task at hand. I will do my best to not be a burden in the future and pray that I may actually prove my worth to you. My name is Avante' Dahn. I practice in the wizarding arts and, well, I read quite a bit. I hope to learn as much as possible of the world and the secrets it holds.I believe I am indeed ready to depart."

"Since I have not met with the priestess yet, perhaps you might give me the condensed version of our task as we travel?"
Nov 22, 2017 2:34 am
"There’s some old ruins a couple days from here, and the priestess says there’s some sort of artifact hidden there that is valuable to her", Trilly responds. "We’re gonna go try and find it, and anything else we find we can keep as payment..."

Having no education in hunting, or navigating, or any skills like that, Kanyil doesn’t bother volunteering to take lead at reading the map.
Nov 22, 2017 3:37 am
Anyone else care to lead? I'm not super familiar with this region or maps. I can also better focus on carrying everyone else's rations without trying to figure a way to the ruins as well.
Nov 22, 2017 3:52 am
"Fine, fine, I'll lead if no one wants to." Grapthor huffs. "Better'n bein' turned into a durn'd pack animal!" he adds, with a sidelong glance at Ulfgar. Taking the map, Grapthor begins scanning it. But he's holding it upside-down.
Nov 22, 2017 12:23 pm
Feridir takes the map from the Dwarf hoe is holing it upside down.

Well im not the best in tracking, more at shooting but i will give it a go
OOC:
So if im correct, my mind = 6, Int =2 map gives a +2 so Target numer is 10, and with a 3 i killed it :)

Exact. When making rolls, it helps if you not your CTN in the roll, this way it will be much easier for me to see if characters succeed or fail the check at a glimpse. For example "Graphtor's attack CTN:18".
Feridir guides the party towards what he,s confident is the direction towards Bear Peak for a couple of hours before he needs to check the map again. You can make another roll at the same CTN please.

OOC:
Is there a way to follow our progress on the map by posting where we are currently after successful checks, or will that be too big of a pain in the butt? It would be nice to know where we are, and how far we need to be. Is there even a way to see the map we were given?
Nov 22, 2017 5:35 pm
Feridir leads the party on

Hey this isnt so hard afterall

Rolls

tracking CTN=10 - (1d20)

There is a huge color map of Caera available here. In either english or Italian, or with or without hexes. As for putting an indicator as to relatively where you (think) you are (you can always get lost if Gaz fails his check) Hmm, I guess that could be feasible. But right now, you'd probably still be in that first hex south of Cendor...

@Gaz:
Feridir guides the party for another few hours, everything seems to be looking fine. Every once in a while, you can spot the peak of Bear Peak poking through the canopy, and sure enough, it looks a little bit closer each time. Alright, another check, same CTN, probably the last for the day.
