Your first day of travel done, you see the sky starting to turn shades of orange indicating that you have about an hour or so of daylight left. Time to set up for a camp and make yourself a fire.
Nov 22, 2017 11:48 pm
Well folks, that was an uneventfull trip, time to stop and make camp, traveling by night is extremly dangerous, so how will we be doing guard duty?

While Feridir is talking he is looking for a nice place to camp, and a large tree he can climb and use as a resting place

Once we have a fire going we can dip into the rations a bit. I'm fine with guard duty, maybe we should split it up, 2 or 3 hour shifts?

"Since there's nothin' to drink I might as well take first watch."
Nov 23, 2017 2:46 pm
"There's seven ay us, sae we can easily afford thee watches."

"I need my beauty sleep. I'll entrust the good warriors to keep charge," smiles Eldritch as he settles down.
Nov 24, 2017 11:18 pm
"Okay 'en, gie yer beauty sleep princess. us real men will tak' caur ay th' wark."

"I can take first watch as well", Kanyil replies.
OOC:
Is there any rivers or streams nearby?

It has been a very pleasant day of travel. Avante' has gotten quite a bit of reading done. His current book is the tale of an aspiring wizard and his apprentice as they adventure in the Shadow Woods.

"Ahh, stopping for the night. Good idea friends. I tell you I would entertain taking third watch because I do love getting some quiet reading in as the sun rises each morning. That would do me good if there are no objections".
Nov 26, 2017 6:01 pm
"Weel, at leest thes a body doesnae need his beauty sleep."
Nov 26, 2017 10:54 pm
Well its setteld then Kanyil, and Grapthor take first watch, Ulfgar and me take the second watch, and Barekeln and Avente' take the second one

If Feridir finds a suitable tree he climbs fashions himself a something he can use to hold him when he sleeps in the tree and has his bow at the ready

Ulfgar when its time for our watch i will be up here in the tree, you are welcom to join me then, good vantage point is essential for an adventurer to have

As Federir speaks, Grapthor counts off the watches on his stubby fingers to make sure he gets it right. "First watch, second watch, another second watch." the dwarf shakes his head, confused. He had never been very good at maths.

The watches decided, you quickly gather firewood for the fire, and eat your supper (that would be your 2nd meal of the day, you also ate while trekking through the woods, well, probably, unless you were rationing your food...), and then those who are not sleeping start their first watch...

You wake up the next morning, without having been bothered during the night, ready to eat your breakfast.

Something happens during 3rd watch?

Kanyil had daily rations and never took any of the preistess’s food. So I just cross off one of my daily rations, correct? Also, was there a river or stream by our camp last night. Because if so, she was going to try to catch some fish during her watch.

Yes, that would be 1 ration gone (assuming you were not rationing). As for a river, there doesn't seem to be any nearby at the moment.

Chance there is a river, stream, or brook nearby.

Kanyil sits in quiet contemplation, her hair still a bird’s nest of sleep tangle, groggily sharing small bites of her breakfast with the rat perched on her leg. If everything goes as smoothly as yesterday, they should reach Bear Peak by nightfall. If her recollection serves right, there was mountain stream running south from Bear Peak and eventually feeding into The Long River about 35 kilometers west of her hometown Westing. With any luck, the party will want to rest nearby it and Kanyil can try and catch some fish during her turn at watch. That would pass the time and be a hell of a lot less boring than last night’s watch turn was...

Finishing her meal, she sets Tumbler on her pack and stands up, wiping the crumbs off her pants. "We should get going," she suggests, looking at the elf. "Do you want to check your map before we set out, Feridir?"

Feridir successfully guides the group towards Bear Peak for a few hours. Time for another check, same CTN.

Well, that was a nice nights read.

Avante' enjoyed the morning sun and a good breakfast while finishing his current tale. Luckily he brought another book to keep him company. This one a bit more stale as it is more of a text book on proper hand gestures. Oh well, it's time to set off.

This Feridir is quite the guide. "Well done Feridir. We shall be there in no time at all with your guidance".
