Wow, so far a very uneventful journey...
Just like yesterday, you see the sky turning shades of orang and pink, alerting you that you have few moment of daylight left in order to make camp. Looking up, you can also see Bear Peak so close, you could almost touch it...

The party can choose to either sleep for the night now, or try a forced march (with another check from Feridir, or course) to reach Bear Peak and camp there instead. So what do you choose?

OOC:
Assuming our party has been walking for about 12 Hours each day, are we looking at about about four hour hike? And if so, are there navigational penalties for trying to navigate in the dark? And if we succeed, is it safe to assume we would arrive at the ruins somewhere around the middle of the night?

The actual journey is 10 hours, with a 2 hour for breaks in between. It would seem you currently have about 2 hour left. As for penalties in the dark, Feridir being an elf will see as if in daylight using the light of the moon and stars. the only problems I can foresee would be human followers if not sources of light are used while travelling.

"Let us rest again for the night. We can arrive there relatively fresh tomorrow."

"I agree with the magician," Kanyil says. "Elves and Dwarves may fare well enough in the dark, but we humans don’t see so well, and I’m embarrassed to say it but I failed to pack torches. A few candles, maybe, but they’ll hardly be useful out on windy mountain trails hugging alongside cliffs. I vote we stop, post our watches like we did last night, get some sleep, and continue on in the day-lit morning rested and ready to enter the ruins."

"Sounds like a fine idea Trilly. I will be glad to take third watch once more. No sense stumbling around at night. No telling what creepy crawly things are out there."

Are we near the mountain stream on the map that dumps into The Long River, down by Westing, or no?
Dec 1, 2017 11:50 pm
OOC:
You're maybe 1 hour away from that particular stream, but you can find a smaller brook which might feed that stream nearby with a Search check.

Kanyil eats her dinner and begins taking first watch.

So you settle for your watches after having gathered some fire wood for your fire... Okay, so Ulfgar and Feridir can make some Perception checks please?

Well now master dwarf, this is the boring part of adventuring, traveling is al nice and well however finding treasure, defeating foe's thats what its all about, I one day hope i can make myself famouse enough to join the "Companions", one of the greates adventuring guilds there is

He takes his bow in hand, and notches an arrow and it looks like he is ready to shoot something

The thrill of the shot, shooting someone from a large distant, not even knowing what hit him, blood rushing through your heart, focus in the mind, now THAT is adventuring

As Ulfgar and Feridir are deep in conversation, they are usddenly surprised to see 3 orcs jump from the underbrush and charge at them...
OOC:
You can place yourselves on the battle map near and around the campfire (the red dot). For those who are sleeping, copy and paste the unconscious condition marker on your token. If you have trouble seeing what is going on, there is a zoom feature: left click zooms in, right click zooms out, select another tool to exit zoom mode.

OOC:
Okay, something just went wonky on here. I was laying down my token and the "Zz" symbol and the campfire and all the other tokens disappeared.

Alright, don't worry I'll fix it. Were you doing this on a phone? Because I've had players in the past in other campaign tell me that they have trouble with Google presentations when on a mobile... Yeah, sorry, I should've warned you guys about that. Anyways, if you're on a phone, just ask use to put your counter in a given square and I or another player will do it.

Edit: Okay, the counters were not gone, their order had just been messed with and they were sent to the background and where hidden behind the battle map. I put all of them back on the foreground now.
