Ugh you're quite the ugly one.
Ulfgar now takes a full on swing at the face of the orc north of him.
OOC:
I assume that I would include my close combat to get +1 to my MAT, also since in combat I'd get +2 to initiative, though I don't know that it matters in this case.

Rolls

Attack with hammer (16) - (1d20)

(14) = 14

Orc defense (14) - (1d20)

(11) = 11

Dec 29, 2017 5:00 am
OOC:
I'm not entirely sure what gives you a +2 to initiative, but you are right, every time you make a melee attack, you count your Close Combat talent, In fact, the modification should be calculated in your base melee attack score with your hammer.

Rereading older posts to see if that orc had been wounded before, I realized that with the whole Perception misunderstanding, Eldrtich never rerolled his coup on his orc...
Ulfgar swings at the roc in front of him for 3 points of damage. Ulfgar gets a Slayer Point.
OOC:
We'll wait for Eldritch to roll his Slaying Dice against his orc before playing next round, but I'll still put initiative for next round.
Edit: my bad, he did rerolled.
Initiative
Feridir 12
Kanyil 9/10
Eldritch 7
Avante 6
Grapthor 6
Orcs 6 (screamy face -2 hp, samurai-looking orc -6 hp, faceplate helmet orc -3 hp)
Barekeln 5
Ulfgar 4

Feridir is up since his original target was not the same as Eldritch's.
Dec 29, 2017 2:51 pm
OOC:
Lightning Reflexes (In combat receives +2 per talent rank to initiative
additionally once per battle and talent rank draw, change, or pick up a weapon from the ground as a free action)
Dec 29, 2017 3:53 pm
OOC:
Oh, ok, well this should be taken into account in your initiative score. Basically, any talent which modifies a check, spell, or a Combat Value, said check, spell or Combat Value should automatically be modified to reflect the change from said talent, magic item, ect. Sorry if that was not made clear enough in the rulebook. Do I need to adjust Ulfgar in the initiative order?
Dec 29, 2017 4:36 pm
OOC:
Do I need to roll a second slayer roll?
Dec 29, 2017 5:00 pm
OOC:
I don't think moving initiative makes a whole lot of difference in this instance.

Feridir sees his companions waking up one by one, but he focusses his fire on the original orc that he hit before.

Rolls

Orc defence (CTN 14) - (1d20)

(4) = 4

Bow attack (CTN 17) - (1d20)

(5) = 5

Dec 29, 2017 7:58 pm
Feridir scratches the orc again. Death by a thousand papercuts...

Kanyil is up next.
Dec 29, 2017 9:17 pm
Fully awake now, Kanyil grabs her slinged quarterstaff and a stone from nearby and runs out into the clearing, taking aim at the orc flanking Ulfgar’s left side. The stone strikes true, hitting the orc in the face, doing 6HP damage, and Trilly immediately feels a sense of dread of possible regret, realizing she probably just drew the orc’s attention to herself.

Rolls

Kanyil’s Ranged Attack (CTN9) - (1d20, RA)

(6) = 6

Orc’s Defense (CTN14) - (1d20, RA)

(19) = 19

Dec 29, 2017 11:35 pm
Kanyil shoots a stone at the same orc which got shot by Eldritch's fire beam, hitting him on teh side of the head and knocking off another 6 hp and gaining a Slayer Point for herself.

Eldritch is up next.
Dec 30, 2017 1:55 am
Now fully awake, Eldritch aims his staff again at the same orc, sending another Fire Beam his way.

Rolls

Fire Beam (14) - (1d20)

(9) = 9

Orc Defense - (1d20)

(8) = 8

Dec 30, 2017 2:02 am
The party continues to slowly dwindle down the orcs as Eldritch's fire beam slightly singes the orc's eyebrows.

Avante' is still asleep, So Grapthor is up next and can pick up his weapon.
OOC:
Edit: the curren orcs' hp are as follows: screamy face -3 hp, samurai-looking orc -13 hp, faceplate helmet orc -3 hp.
Dec 30, 2017 4:09 am
Grumbling, Grapthor picks up his weapon.
OOC:
That's all I can do this round, right?
Dec 30, 2017 4:46 pm
Jabes.plays.RPG says:
Grumbling, Grapthor picks up his weapon.
OOC:
That's all I can do this round, right?
OOC:
You could always move if you want/need to... P.38 states that a character can move and then take an action, or take an action and then move. The table on p.39 lists examples of actions.
Well if Grapthor does not move it will be the orcs' turn.

Mr. Screamy face with pointy helmet orc will suddenly reconsider his decision of throwing his one and only spear at Feridir in the tree as he now has to go pick it back up. Both of the remaining ors will strike Ulfgar, one from the front, and one from the flank at +1 on his attack roll.
OOC:
(Note: normally the Dodge talent must be announced before the melee damage is rolled, but because of the nature of a pbp game and to avoid slowing games down, I'll let character announce their Dodge after the result of an attack is done. So a little boon for the players.)
One orc thrusts at Ulfgar, but the point of his spear stirkes wide to his left. The other orc strikes true, however, for 9 points of damage.

Rolls

First orc (front, CTN:13) - (1d20)

(18) = 18

Ulfgar's DEF against 1st orc (CTN:14) - (1d20)

(14) = 14

Second ocr (flank, base MAT 13 + 1 flank, total CTN:14) - (1d20)

(9) = 9

Ulfgar's DEF against 2nd orc (CTN:14) - (1d20)

(16) = 16

Dec 30, 2017 4:50 pm
Now is Barekeln's turn to see if he wakes up, but he rolled a Fumble next round, and this is a spectacular failure, so I'll give him a -4 to both his Wake Up (reducing the battle noise bonus of +8 to only a +4) check and Perception check this round to simulate his very deep slumber...
Barekeln keeps sleeping...
OOC:
(That's fun, the healer is still asleep when the fighter gets wounded... I think one of you will have to sacrifice an action to wake Barekeln up next round...)
Ulfgar is up.

Rolls

Barekeln's Wake Up check (MND+IN+8-4, Total CTN:14) - (1d20)

(16) = 16

Barekeln's Perception check (MND+IN-4, Total CTN:6) - (1d20)

(5) = 5

Dec 30, 2017 6:04 pm
Oof you uglies mean business
OOC:
I use my slayer point to ignore 2 damage.
Ulfgar swings again at the orc north of him.

Rolls

Attack with hammer (CTN 16) - (1d20)

(7) = 7

Orc defense (ctn14) - (1d20)

(10) = 10

Dec 30, 2017 9:34 pm
OOC:
I was confused about your initiative the way you noted it, but now I realize you're at 6 initiative and now 4. I'll put you at 6 in front of the orcs starting next round to fix that mistake.
Ulfgar swings at the orcs, but fails to inflict any sort of damage.

Next round.

Initiative
Feridir 12
Kanyil 9/10
Eldritch 7
Avante 6
Grapthor 6
Ulfgar 6
Orcs 6 (screamy face -3 hp, samurai-looking orc -13 hp, faceplate helmet orc -3 hp)
Barekeln 5

Edit: Orc's DEF: 14

Feridir is up.
Dec 30, 2017 9:41 pm
OOC:
If someone walks over to wake up our healer, do we move our token on the same square as him, or do we move our token to an adjacent square?
Dec 31, 2017 1:42 am
Feridir ius getting mroe and more frustrated about teh screamy orc who trew the spear at him and keeps focusing him feeling safe up in the tree

Rolls

Bow attack (CTN 17) - (1d20)

(3) = 3

Orc defence (CTN 14) - (1d20)

(3) = 3

Dec 31, 2017 4:44 am
Feridir shoots an arrow, but it bounces off harmlessly on the orc's armor. Kanyil is up next.
