"Beds, yes. Freshly-made? I don't know about that, friend," Devin says, wondering what sort of accommodations that dwarves normally sleep on.

OOC:
Eh, but they said centuries? dem beds should almost be dust Net assumes at least some 10+ years or so
Oct 17, 2018 4:18 pm
OOC:
Let's just say that you barely recognize them as beds...

Kanyil will check the dresser drawers for traps.

If there aren't any traps on the dresser she opens the drawers and examines it for any items.

Kanyil SEARCH TRAPS (CTN10) - (1d20)

(5) = 5

Oct 17, 2018 9:29 pm
Kanyil examines the pile of rotten wood which used to be dressers and assumes that whatever traps might have been there probably rotted away long ago along the dressers. As for what's in the dressers, she does find some tattered remains of what might have been clothing long ago...
Oct 18, 2018 11:10 pm
OOC:
Is it possible to take some of the tattered cloth and wrap it around some of the broken furniture and make a torch with it? I'm not sure how torches work...
Oct 19, 2018 4:12 am
OOC:
It would require some resin, pitch, or animal fat. If you can also find that, I'll allow it.
Oct 19, 2018 6:50 am
Kanyil pickks uuup a long piece of wood and a strip of tattered fabric and contemplates them.

Realizing that she could make a torch with the items on hand if she has a source of slow burning fuel, she puts the items in her pack for the time being.

Kanyil has most ingredients for a torch. What does the party do now?

OOC:
i vote we continue searching the rest of this so up the hall?

OOC:
Back to the main hall. First door on the left!
Nov 2, 2018 2:40 pm
The party makes their way to the main hall and make their way to the first door on the left. Opening it, the party sees a small room filled with a dozen rats. They turn and hiss as the players enter the room. Combat has started.

There is a triple equality in initiative between Devin Romana and the rats. We need to roll to break ties.

@ Mandroid: You recently arrived at a small town called Cendor in your travels and quickly heard that a local priestess of Helia had sent a group of adventurers on a mission the day before (it was the talk of the town). Feeling that this group of adventurers could be a good way for you to redeem yourself in your eyes, you went to see this priestess to see if she would accept a late comer for her mission, and to find out what this mission was.
The priestess was a bit reticent at first as it would mean sending you alone in the Dawn Woods which are not exactly safe... but you insisted and she relented. She explained that through research, she had good reason to believe that an ancient relic of her faith, called the Star of Helia, was located in the ruins of an old temple dedicated to Helia located on Bear Peak. She needed a group of adventurers to go and retrieve it for her.
She gave you a map, some food for you to ration on the way there and sent you on your way. Trekking through the forest, you first met an hopelessly lost elf wizard named Avan'te who was originally part of the expedition, but later got cold feet and left to get back to Cendor after an orc attack during the night. You gave him directions back to Cendor and continued on your way. Later, the discovery of the old campsite and orc bodies confirmed you you were on the right way. Eventually, you found the tracks of two other people (Devin and Woodroya) which were rather easy to follow towards a mountain visible far off... While ascending a path up the mountain, you met another former member of the expedition, the NPC dwarf Barekeln who was bringing back the body of his fallen dwarf comrade Grapthor who died in combat against giant rats. Barekeln told you you were on the right way to the ruined temple and warned you to the presence of goblins outside... or at least you think that's what he said, his thick dwarven accent making him hard to understand at times. And so, you continue your ascension of the mountain.

Arriving at a dark entrance, Berryn curses his inexperience in not brining any light source. Contemplating his next step, he realizes between the threat of goblins outside, and his dates party inside without him, he must brace the dark path without a light. The sudden sounds of combat within only reinforce the matter as he prepares to enter the dark, readying his fire beam spell.

ooc. Not sure if a spell change check is required here, ignore it if it's unnecessary.

Spell Change - (1d20+2)

(11) + 2 = 13

Nov 4, 2018 3:40 pm
Sorry, not sure if editing my last post would regenerate the roll. The roll is against Mind 8 + In 3 =11
Nov 4, 2018 4:05 pm
Well, you could simply state which spell started as activated. If you feel that by default Berryn would keep Fire Beam activated, we can consider it was already activated and go with that.
Nov 4, 2018 4:11 pm
Let's do that. Didn't want to break the rule with my first post, plus it was a good opportunity to learn the role system.
Nov 8, 2018 1:21 am
Romana? Tie breaker?
Nov 8, 2018 6:10 am
OOC:
I was wondering if I should keep her as a mage, or reroll as something else since we have Mandroid now...
