Woodroya skewers a rat, killing it, earning herself a Slayer Point in the process.

Romana is up next.
Dec 3, 2018 7:54 am
Romana retreats back to where Kanyil is, keeping her staff between herself and the rats. If the surviving rat is still clinging to my staff, I will try to bash him against the wall; if the survivor was the one who bit me, I'll try to flame beam him....

OOC:
Oh, that rat is dead. Do you do anything else? Like shooting a fire beam on a rat in the room before moving? Remember that in DS4, you can take an action and move or move and take an action.
Dec 4, 2018 3:02 am
Perfect. Before beating a hasty retreat I'll try to give one of our rodental friends the warm fuzzies.

Rolls

Flame Beam TSC13-4 ratsize = CTN9 - (1d20)

(7) = 7

Rat Defense 4 - (1d20)

(7) = 7

Romana fries a rodent before retreating, killing it.

The rats flood into the corridor, filling up the place left by those who retreated. One rat will attack Kayil, one will attack Romana, one will attack Devin, one will attack Netdraeth, and two will attack Feridir.

Kanyil, Netdraeth, and Feridir all successfully block the rats' onslaught, but Romana takes 7 points of damage. One of the rat accidentally jumps on Devin's weapon, allowing Devin to make an undefendable melee attack against this rat.

Berryn is up next.

Rolls

1st rat on Kanyil (MAT: 6, +4 Size. Total CTN: 10) - (1d20)

(7) = 7

Kanyil's DEF: 9 - (1d20)

Romana is bleeding badly now and staggers back, trying to hold the rat at bay with her staff. She's not looking good at all.

OOC:
Question, what range does each square on the map represent? I'm curious whether Shot's into a Turmoil applies here (Page 42 of the PDF)? Basically, when firing into a group of targets within 1-meter from each other, ranged attack's get a bonus of +1 per target, and chance determines which target is hit, if the attack is successful.

If that does apply here, and also applies to targeted spellcasting, then interpret my attack as firing into the group of rat's using that. If not, then I will be targeting the injured rat adjacent to Kanyil (or if out of range, the next closest one, my fire beam has a range of 15-meters.
Dec 4, 2018 12:56 pm
Watching the rat's swarm out from the chamber, Berryn prepares another fire beam.

Rolls

Fire Beam at Rat TPC 11+1-4(Rat Def)-1 Shooting through Netdreath = TCN 7 - (1d20)

(19) = 19

Rat's Defense - (1d20)

(17) = 17

OOC:
Dang, I guess none of that matter's anyways...I would have preferred a fumble, I could use my lucky devil trait to re-roll it, oh well.
Dec 4, 2018 1:08 pm
Devin would attack the rat that left itself open, but he dropped his spear
Dec 4, 2018 1:29 pm
I think it takes an action to pick up your weapon, I think we can assume that you would do that, but you may need to specify.
Dec 4, 2018 3:32 pm
@ Mandroid: Each square is 1 meter, and for your information, unless the weapon or spell states otherwise, range penalties are -1 per 10 meters. Shooting into a turmoil is a choice you can make, it is not automatic. So if you do not feel like risking hitting your allies, you can choose not to use the shoot into a turmoil option. But then again, if you feel lucky... :P

Since Devin is unarmed, the rat will have fell over instead. Berryn shoots a fire beam at the rat, falling short and singing the ground a short distance behind it...

Fourth round of combat.

Initiative
Netdraeth 12
Feridir 12
Kanyil 9 (10 with dagger)
Woodroya 8
Romana 6
Devin 6
Rats 6
Berryn 6

Battle Map.

Conditions
Rats are Tiny size, this mean you'll have a -4 penalty to your attack and spells rolls to attack them and they have a +4 bonus on their attack rolls to attack you.
If Romana (or any other ranged attacker for that matter, we don't know how the fight will progress...) wants to attack a rat adjacent to her with her targeted spells, she will take the -2 penalty for attacking an adjacent target with a ranged attack.

The prone rat will take -2 to DEF and will need to take an action to get up since it is in melee range. If it chooses to act while prone, it will take -2 to attack.

To avoid waisting too much time waiting for me to roll the rat's DEF after each of your attacks, you will roll the rat's DEF while attacking them (and I will roll your DEF while the rats attack you).
Rat's DEF: 2

Netdraeth is up!
Dec 4, 2018 5:07 pm
lettuce try the white rat infront of me.

Rolls

club (DC 8) - (1d20)

(18) = 18

rat def dc2 - (1d20)

(3) = 3

Dec 4, 2018 6:06 pm
Feridir, being surrounded by rats, will attempt to shoot at rats further into the room as he will have fewer penalties this way... He kills a rat and gains his 2nd Slayer Point.

Kanyil is up next.

Rolls

Feridir's RAT: 16 (size -4, -1 rat in the way, total CTN: 11) - (1d20)

(7) = 7

Rat's DEF: 2 - (1d20)

(4) = 4

I must have overlooked the part about hitting allies...maybe we will have to save that one for emergencies only...

Or if there are far more enemies than allies and the chances of hitting allies is rather low?

OOC:
Who is the rat with the "prone" marker facing? Devin?
Dec 4, 2018 8:08 pm
OOC:
Yes, Devin.
Dec 4, 2018 8:29 pm
Kanyil throws a stone at the prone rat facing Devin, hoping to take advantage of it's rear attack on a prone target doing 2HP damage to it. She tsays in one spot rather than give the rats the opportunity to break through and surround the party against the corridor's wall.

Rolls

Kanyil Attack (CTN11, -4 size=7, -1 sling penalty=6, +2 rear attack=8) - (1d20)

(2) = 2

Rat Defense (CTN2, -2 prone=0) - (1d20)

(16) = 16

Kanyil lets lose her stone, hitting the prone rat in the flank. It is still alive, but wounded. Kanyil gains another Slayer Point.

Woodroya is next.
