The two ants that spotted Devin will move in for the attack. the other one seems still oblivious for now... Whoah! 3 Coups? Damn... Ouch, so Davin is struck once for 11 damage and a second time for 5 damage, for a total of 16.

Woodroya is next.

Rolls

Giant ant 1 attack (MAT:11) - (1d20)

(1) = 1

Devin's DEF:8, -2 for mandible's penalties, total CTN:6 - (1d20)

(8) = 8

Giant ant 2 attack (MAT:11) - (1d20)

(1) = 1

Devin's DEF:8, -2 for mandible's penalties, total CTN:6 - (1d20)

(1) = 1

Ant 1 Coup (CTN:11) - (1d20)

(15) = 15

Ant 2 Coup (CTN: 11) - (1d20)

(20) = 20

Devin,s DEF Coup against ant 2 (CTN:6) - (1d20)

(12) = 12

Mar 19, 2019 5:50 pm
Woodroya blinks against the spray of blood down the hallway, and backs up a step, ready to spear an ant if Devin can back into position.
Mar 19, 2019 7:49 pm
Romana is up next then.
Mar 20, 2019 4:46 am
"Devin! Damn it, come back!" Romana readies her Flame Beam and waits for the first mandible to round the corner....
Mar 20, 2019 12:28 pm
"Hurry Devin, don't let the swarm you!" Berryn calls as he sends a fire beam down the hallway.
OOC:
Berryn will fire a Flame Beam at the Ant in front of Devin. -1 per each party member in the way, -2 for target being 20-meters away (squares are 5-meters, correct?)

Rolls

Fire Beam at Ant in front of Devin 13 - 2 (obstacles) -2 (distance) CTN=9 - (1d20)

(20) = 20

Giant Ant's Defense CTN=9 - (1d20)

(20) = 20

Mar 20, 2019 3:08 pm
OOC:
Oh, that's bad. Normally when you roll a fumble on a raged attack, you either drop your bow or your target spell is no longer prepared, but when there are obstacles in the way, you randomly hit an obstacle instead. use whatever method you like to determine whether you hit Woodroya or Devin, and then make another attack roll at +2 (for attacking from behind) with your spell on whomever you hit.
Mar 21, 2019 1:06 pm
OOC:
oh man... Assuming I can't just choose my target...I'll roll a 1d20, even number targets Devin, odd number targets Woodroya. If I can choose, I choose Woodroya. If this hits, I'm really sorry...

Rolls

Even = Devin Odd = Woodroya - (1d20)

(11) = 11

Fire beam CTN = 15 (13+2) (does range modifier apply here?) - (1d20)

(6) = 6

Mar 21, 2019 2:36 pm
OOC:
Yes it would, but you rolled well under your CTN so.
Woodroya feels something hit her from behind, it feels very warm for a moment, but it fails to harm her in any significant fashion.

Devin's up (then I guess it will be those who were waiting...)

Rolls

Woodroya's DEF:13 - (1d20)

(8) = 8

Mar 21, 2019 2:51 pm
Devin turns and runs, ducking behind his companions and working on healing himself.

Rolls

Healing Touch (CTN: 14) - (1d20)

(6) = 6

Mar 21, 2019 2:59 pm
Devin retreats and manages to heal himself somewhat, earning himself a Slayer Point.

I assume it's the waiters' turn now...
Mar 21, 2019 8:00 pm
OOC:
is taunting a free action :D, if so i'll pop my head out and stick out my tongue but i'm waiting till the ant reaches range to thwap
"One deay can't they fie be ohn us soh we wouldn't have to wait. Jolly good show old bean!"
Mar 22, 2019 4:30 am
OOC:
Yeah, that would be a free action. Unless you want to somehow communicate to that ant that its father was a hamster and its mother smells of elderberries...
Mar 24, 2019 4:15 pm
OOC:
eh i was thinking just a generic taut cause it probably cant understand me anyways
but hold action till within range to hit.
Mar 24, 2019 5:06 pm
Woodroya? Still waiting?
Mar 24, 2019 6:06 pm
Woodroya is waiting for the ants to follow Devin. Until they do, she continues to hold.
Mar 24, 2019 6:26 pm
Romana? Still waiting?
Mar 25, 2019 8:06 am
Armed and ready for mandibles rounding the corner
Mar 25, 2019 2:58 pm
Alright then

Second round of combat!

Initiative
12 Netdraeth (+4 for waiting)
11 Giant ants
8 Woodroya (+2 for waiting)
6 Romana (+2 for waiting)
6 Berryn
6 Devin

Combat map

To avoid bugging down combat, roll the enemy's DEF alongside your attack. Giant ant's DEF: 9

Netdraeth is first, and he's probably waiting again, so the ants!

All 3 ants will approach. With those soldier ants being more used to fighting opponents and using swarming tactics, one of them will climb up the walls on its way to reach Woodroya. Two ants will attack Woodroya and one will attack Nethdraet around the corner at -1.

One ant misses Woodroya and the one on the ground lunges itself at Woodroya's spear (Fumble) and so Woodroya can immediately make an undefendable melee attack on that ant. The last ant manages to clip Netdraeth around the corner for 2 points of damage.

Now, the waiters!

Rolls

Ant 1 (Woodroya) (MAT:11) - (1d20)

(18) = 18

Woodroya's DEF:14, -2 mandibles, total CTN:12 - (1d20)

(7) = 7

Ant 2 (Woodroya) (MAT:11) - (1d20)

(20) = 20

Woodroya's DEF:14, -2 mandibles, total CTN:12 - (1d20)

(2) = 2

Ant 3 (Netdraeth, around the corner) (MAT:11, -1 around the corner, total CTN:10) - (1d20)

(2) = 2

Netdraeth's DEF:16, -2 mandibles, total CTN:14 - (1d20)

(17) = 17

Mar 25, 2019 4:31 pm
Woodroya, poised and ready, stabs at the rushing ant.

Edit: not sure if the -2 size penalty still applies.

Rolls

Spear MAT 13-2, Ant def 9 (undefendable) - (1d20, 1d20)

1d20 : (8) = 8

1d20 : (16) = 16

Mar 25, 2019 6:05 pm
OOC:
No size penalties. You can also make a second undefendable attack as the ant Fumbled its attack against you and impaled itself on your spear...
