Barekeln simply shrugs and says in his thick dwarven accent while pointing to his own leather armor.

"Gang ahead 'n' tak' teh leather armor wee yin. Ah awready hae mah ain."

He then turns to the rest of the rest of the party, mostly eyeing Ulfgar.

"Sae, a'body in need o' healing?"

"Thanks", Kanyil says, stripping the leathers off one of the dead Orcs and giving them a sniff. "I’ll pay you all your cut of the resale value, either when we hawk what we salvage or before then if we come up with some gold somewhere.

I could use a bit of healing I suppose. This adventuring will take a toll you.

Feridir waits till anyone else offers to take the armor, if nobody wants it he steps up.

Im not a fan of orc armor but extra protection is always nice, so if no one else takes it, i will have 1 off them.

He takes an orc armor and dons it, putting his robes over it, so its not that obviouse he is wearing orc armor.

Barekeln will attempt to heal Ulfgar. Ulfgar is healed for 5 HP.

It’s basically the evening of the second day right? We’re at the base of the mountain? So since combat is over, does Barekeln have to do healing rolls, or can it just be assumed he rolls and rolls until he heals everyone as needed before we post watches for the rest of night and go to bed?
Jan 16, 2018 3:15 am
OOC:
No. This was an attack while you were sleeping. Barekeln can heal people, if you don,t trust your 1d20/2 of natural healing once the morning comes and you finish your sleep. You're about a few hours away from the mountains still. As for why I roll healing spells outside of combat, you have spells which are meant to be used outside of combat like Open or Magic Lock or Detect/Identify Magic, and those still need to be rolled. I feel it's a bit unfair to make Mages roll for those spells, but give healers auto-healing outside of combat just because rolling dice is bothersome... I did made a houserule in my RL game where if players took their time on an action, including casting spells, they can roll multiple time and pick the preferred result. We can always apply that houserule if you'd prefer...

"I feel like there’s no point going back to sleep", Kanyil says. Those orcs found us once already, and one of them escaped and will probably tell the rest of his group what happened and where we are. We’re already awake for the night, so I say we leave this area and start making our way up the mountain.

Barekeln stokes his beard, thinking about the proposition a bit.

"Er at de dead least, we move camp and attack te mattress a few more 'os so us wounded tinnie recuperate."
OOC:
For those who are still missing a few HP, sleeping allow you to heal naturally D20/2 hp, with a +1 bonus to this roll per full4 hour of sleep.
Jan 19, 2018 2:23 am
I suppose any further sleep would be restless anyway. Let’s get an early start and get this thing done.
Jan 19, 2018 3:02 am
Barekeln shrugs, picks up his things, and then looks at Avante' who is still sleeping...

"Alrecht. Can somebody wake up 'at damn elf?"
Jan 19, 2018 6:02 am
OOC:
I suppose we should figure out what to do with Grogg’s character now. It’s one thing to let him sleep for the fight, but it would be a bit of a jerk move to leave him napping while we go adventuring. Not to be a jerk, cause I know he has some priorities to take care of in his personal life, but it’s been more than a month since we heard anything at all from him, and I wonder if he’s coming back at all. Do we let Kalajel GMPC him for the time being? What if we say that Kanyil goes over to wake him and discovers he’s missing, and then we can just come up with a backstory of his whereabouts if Grogg comes back later.
Jan 19, 2018 3:29 pm
OOC:
He could change his mind about adventuring and decide to go back home... and maybe remain lost in the forest. So that way, if Grogg comes back, Avante' won't be too far away to rejoin the group. And if Grogg can't make it back, well, Avante' will remain hopelessly lost in the forest and we can just forget about him...
Jan 19, 2018 5:39 pm
OOC:
Yeah, let’s go with that.
Jan 20, 2018 9:26 am
So time to hit the road then, nothing gets the blood pumping in the morning as some combat

Feridir takes the map and starts leading the way again
OOC:

"Guys, Kanyil says returning to the group after looking around, "I went to wake Avente but he’s gone. None of his gear is left behind so I don’t think it was a hasty retreat or that he was taken. I think he just left us while we were occupied with the orcs. In these woods we could be wandering around for days looking for him, and he knows where we’re headed."

Not entirely how I had planed to have him leave, but it'll do...
So the party leaves in the middle of the night (the attack happened during the 2nd watch), and you make your way towards the mountain as best you can with what little sleep you had. Is the party using any sort of lighting source since the sun is not up yet so the humans can see? And what is your marching order? I assume Feridir is in front since he's the guide.

OOC:
Oh sorry. I tried to word her dialogue out to fit how I had interpreted the options you suggested. Basically implying maybe he left for home or is somewhere out in the woods but still has his equipment if he joins us later.

Kanyil wasn’t carrying anything for added lighting, she was just keeping an eye on whomever is directly in front of her. As far as marching order, I hadn’t really considered it, so I’m fine with wherever she fell in with the party.

Eldritch tries to stay somewhere in the middle, safely protected by the big strong warriors.
Jan 21, 2018 7:22 pm
After a few more hours of travel in the dark, just about when the party is expected to see the Bear Peak loom i front of them, they are still travelling in the forest, with no sight of the mountain piercing through the canopy anywhere...

Feridir can make another check, with an extra +2 bonus this time.
