Eris looks at May. My only responsibilities are retrieving the package and evaluating you lot. Anything other than that is not my concern. I evaluated you and now I’m on my way to the package. If you think for one second that I give a damn about you, then you need to think again. The King may have you as part of this special little task force, but from what I can tell, you’re easily replaceable. Without taking a breath, he whips his head around to Jorrel. The humans were saved. Their items weren’t salvageable so we wasted time cleaning up. You wanted to help them? Do what I did and give them enough gold to start over in the capital. I gave them 5000 gold, what did you give them. Soldier. Eris really emphasizes the last word.

OOC:
These horses are very much trained to travel the roads to specific locations. They can be taken elsewhere but it would be difficult.

Eris rises and turns. Better get to bed. If we move quickly, we choke be able to arrive by the time the sun descends tomorrow. He then walks to his bedroll.

Jorrel remains silent as the General retires. He is experienced enough to know when is a good time to shut up, and he didn’t want to come up on charges of insubordination. After the General is out of earshot he says to the others,

"Get some rest. At my age I don’t need much sleep, so I’ll take first watch. I like the quiet at this time anyway."
Dec 4, 2017 3:11 pm
I'll take the final watch, if you're ok with a middle watch May. Edwin says in reply, keeping his complaints about the General to himself at the moment.

OOC:
So, what is the decided watch order?
Dec 6, 2017 12:59 am
OOC:
I believe Joe, May, then Ed.
Dec 6, 2017 3:58 am
The night tolls on, fairly quiet. With Edwin on watch, the sun begins to rise.
OOC:

With the sun low on the horizon, Edwin hears some chittering in the distance - like something or things talking. With the light as low as it is, Edwin can't quite make out anything other than the sounds, which appear to be getting closer and closer.
Dec 6, 2017 4:26 pm
Edwin walks over to May, and with a gentle shake on her shoulder, tries to wake her up. If she rouses, he'll hold a finger to his lips and point towards the chittering.
Dec 6, 2017 4:58 pm
Jorrel snorts loudly and turns over in his sleep.
Dec 7, 2017 9:13 pm
May lurches to a sit and looks around. She rubs whatever gunk formed on her eyes and nose as she keeps an eye out over where Edwin points.
Dec 7, 2017 9:49 pm
OOC:
Both roll another perception, Edwin with advantage.

As you both peer into the low light, you see 5 figures approaching. They are each about 2' tall and appear to be some sort of lizard-like humanoid. They seem to be aware of your location, though they do not seem to notice you are watching them.
Dec 11, 2017 4:21 pm
Edwin pulls his rapier free of its home at his hip and tries to hide in whatever nearby shadows he may be able to find.
OOC:
Adding a stealth roll to try taking the Hide action from them.

Jorrel dreams of a world without pain. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be.
Dec 11, 2017 4:34 pm
As Edwin moves to hide, and trips over a sleeping Jorrel, clattering to the ground. As soon as you fall, the chittering from the monsters cease and their eyes pinpoint on you.
