Yes SR has a lot of bookkeeping. I personally am not too strict about it. But I think it can be fun if flavored with fluff.
Example: In my in person game I play weekly, my face/rigger upgraded his flesh arm to a cyber arm. Instead of playing it out in the group this was my write up:
The crunch:
Alphaware Synthetic full cyber arm
Essence . 8 20,000¥ alphaware cost x1.2 so 24,000¥
Agility rating 3 19,500¥
Strength rating 3 19,500¥
Large smuggling compartment 8,000¥
Move the fingertip compartment with the monofiliment whip to the cyberarm.
Subtotal 71,000¥
Bone density Rating 3
Essence .9 (alpha ware .72) 20,000¥ alphaware cost x1.2 so 24,000¥
Subtotal 24,000¥
Total 95,000¥
Story time:

Silk is in his hotel room. He takes out his comm and looks at his bank credit. The account has more than he has ever owned in his life. He flips in AR and looks at a video of his little daughter Lily. Her little Ork tusks cute as they poke through her smile. She is almost a year older since he first decided to run the shadows. How much of her life has he missed?
He transfers fifteen grand to Tiger Jones’ account with a short text, "Put a down payment on a house for you and Lily. Things are looking up! "
Silk puts the comm down and looks at a mirror. He pulls off the mullet wig to reveal close cropped light brown hair. He takes out the brown contacts to reveal bright green eyes. Finally, he takes off the ear putty and fluffs his ears back to points. He coughs, trying to remember a voice he hasn’t used in a long time, "Hi my name is Colby Ives."

Colby gets a taxi down to the Aztecnology owned Eve Medical Center. He has an appointment with a top cybersurgeon, named Salina Sanchez. M.D.C The waiting room displays the disturbing William Blake painting of Satan Exulting over Eve. In a display case a cyber arm moves with perfect fluidity, making grand sweeping gestures and short micro movements. An AR display talks about the Alpha and Beta grade work done by Dr. Sanchez and the research team at EMC. A long cosmetic commercial showing the quality of their patented EveSkin procedure shows how the synthskin has micropores that breath "just like real skin but better".
"Mr. Ives, the doctor will see you now." The bio-tatted up assistant announces. His eyes are pure chrome, an attempt to look retro that is just new enough to look wiz.
The office is brilliant white with translucent walls. Light seeping in from outside giving a warm comfortable glow.
Dr. Sanchez has grey hair and an exquisitely sculpted face; a walking advertisement for her products. She looks up from her AR display. Her eyes quickly focusing on the real world, "Bienvenido, come on in Mr. Ives. We are always excited to see one of our own come to our facility."
Colby smiles, "Hola Doctor Sanchez." Carefully rolling r’s and emphasising c’s and z’s not like an anglophone. It had been a while since he had spoken the language but it came back quickly.
"I already pulled up your chart. It says here you have a Speedo brand control rig integrated in your nervous system. The initial nano scans show significant scarring around nerve centres. Did you install this thing yourself with a hacksaw and glue?" Her condescension is barely covered by her attempt at a playful tone. Colby is reminded why he hates the Azzies.
She smiles at Colby, "Hmmm. So you want our UltraPlatinum package for…" she looks at her display again, "…bone density enhancements and our top of the line Executive Rugged Sport Arm. That would be with the EveSkin synth." Her face concentrates as she looks at the diagnostics. "The attachments to the rig are going to be a challenge."
Colby just shrugs.
"A real sportsman aren’t you? Racing?
"Something like that." Colby looks at her straight in the eyes. "When can we get started?"
"We can start the initial nano bathe in an hour. I have a surgery slot two hours later. That sound good?"
"Sí."
