Char Gen is regular core rules or Run Faster rules. Core book priority A-E Start with 25 karma to improve your character plus another 25 more of negative qualities. Alternatively you could use the Run Faster Point Buy with 800 Karma (plus an extra 25 of negative qualities). Or use Run Faster Sum to 10 or the RUn Faster Life module system.

Looks like we have 4 people. While you are making you are stating out your character you can throw out character ideas here.
Nov 18, 2017 1:16 am
I am playing around with the idea of a Muscle that is too enucleated that he relies on BTLs to feel and have a relationship.
Nov 18, 2017 2:46 am
Sounds cool. Can you put your BTL dealer in the contacts subforum? Give the guy/gal a name and a few unique character traits.
Nov 18, 2017 12:48 pm
I'm not particularly sold on anything other than not really wanting to play a Decker. I had a character concept in the past for a long range rigger, relatively frail, who used a drone to basically be how he interacted with most people, including combat. Otherwise, I've never played a magical character in Shadowrun, so trying that out could be neat.
Nov 19, 2017 1:13 pm
If Keleth goes mage then I`ll go with rigger/decker if Not I'll take the Mage slot since I even had an adept kinda ready.
Nov 19, 2017 1:28 pm
Let's also situate your characters. Based on their lifestyle where do they live? I posted a map in the resources subforum. And here is a link to the different districts:

Fennec lives in an apartment in Renton. He's a Seattle boy, born and bred, who bounced around the foster system until high school when he applied and was accepted to the UCAS military. They sent him to West Point, and his charm and skill at killing things got him into the Special Forces. One tour of duty was enough for him, he asked for a received an honorable discharge and has been running in the shadows ever since.

Hey guys, looking forward to the game!
I'm planning on rolling up a skillomancer, who's mechanically a jack-of-all trades. Can do face stuff, infiltration, light combat, but just knows A LOT.
If you guys think the group needs somebody else, I can always roll up another character to fill in whatever gaps are left open. Just let me know.

Just my 2 nuyen. I think it is fine to have overlap in face skills. I play in a Shadowrun game and some of the best sessions are when the two faces get to play off each other. And they get to assist in the negotiation rolls so mo' money, mo' money, mo' money!
If the group doesn't end up having a decker we can find a solution. Or if there isn't a mage same thing. Happy to tailor the game for the characters we have.
Just my thought.

My current skillomancer does have a decker for as a contact, for whatever that's worth. :)
Nov 21, 2017 12:45 pm
No problem, I'll give it a try. I'll shelve Fennec for another game. :)
I've never run one before, but it looks interesting. And PbP is one of the best ways to learn something new, since you can take the time to look stuff up. If everyone else is okay with it, I'll build a decker.
I respect that you're willing to work around us, aaronschmidt; so maybe that can translate to going a little easy on me? :)

Sure! I'll go easy on anything that is rules related. But I will throw character based challenges at ya all.
Nov 21, 2017 2:07 pm
Well, guess that settles me into the rigger. So yah, I'm thinking someone who prefers longer ranged, will be relatively fragile, often interacting via drone.
Nov 21, 2017 2:50 pm
Kaleth - my character is actually a much older and looks relatively fragile too. Any chance our characters could know each other, especially if your character is old?

Another option if we have no Decker is I could play a techonmancer butI see our party is coming short on muscle so I think a combat mage would be more useful than a decker who can be hired or even be a contact...
Nov 21, 2017 6:06 pm
I could always go rigger with some hacking skills. Not a complete decker, but with some ability, specially if I'm already going to be interfacing with drones.
Nov 21, 2017 6:49 pm
All good...had some time today and I like character gen. Created a decker named Wyvern. She's young, so could have gone to school with your rigger, Keleth. Also has a brother who is a beat cop, if that helps anyone tie in.
Nov 21, 2017 7:46 pm
I like where this is going! So thus far, we have:
Marithyme - Decker (Young character with a beat cop brother)
Keleth - Rigger (Young character, weak/sick)
Lkenage - Face/Skillomancer (Old-ass man, think M from James Bond but retired)
Carlosg_81 - Combat Mage?
This could be a really interesting group if we don't have muscle. One of my character's contacts is a fixer, but I'm open to sharing contacts you guys have. My other two contacts are tentatively:
- Small time drug dealer (gotta get that Cram fix)
- Another decker

Looks like we are gaining steam. When is a good starting time? Maybe next week? Perhaps character sheets up by Friday or Saturday? Then figuring out relationships? Maybe each of you couid post at least one contact in the contact forum. Then we start.
Nov 22, 2017 1:48 am
Merkx McMillan, Dwarf Mystic Adept and hand to hand combat specialist. I hadn't built a charcater on 5e before So don't know if he is good enough. I think he should be okay with an STR of 8 being able to boost it to 14 with his adept ability and deal acid damage with his fist... Well better than most guns And with 12 dice of magic+spellcasting his long range spells should be pretty harmful as well. The only reason I havent taken the blades path is the expensive sword foci (specially when I only have 6k).
I also focused on banishing, dispelling and counterspelling for a bit of defense
I almost took the Mutation to have 4 arms That would have been fun but it required 3 ambidexterities to punch 4x per turn :-).

Sorry if I haven't done much updating. We're good to have SURGE? I've been finagling with splatbooks a lot and I am still processing stuff. I'll make sure to get through the analysis paralysis before Monday. For now, I present some (skeletal) fluff.
PC is a street sam, 'ware repo man, parahunter, bounty hunter, and BTL enthusiast.
Contact 1 is a Street Doc. Mentor, provider, role model. Could work or volunteer on the center.
Contact 2 is a Stripper/Fixer/Dealer. Could be a Meat Puppet that's forwarded to the facility/therapy center. Maybe a usual suspect for the Beat Cop. Maybe I could also split the 'Fixer' portion to another contact.
I am still finding myself and working on me. I apologize for the baggage.
Kidding aside, I'll make another post once I clear up more stuff.

Excellent, we have a street sam too! Have a nice group rounding out.
My character is Greer, a face and skill-o-mancer. Think M from James Bond, but with less of a conscious and more savage.
He's a relic of another age -- he specialized in old school spycraft and was fitted out with a tremendous amount of 'ware as years passed by. Creeping upwards of 70 years of age, he isn't living the happy retirement life but rather running in the shadows after a mission went sideways in a spectacular manner.
Contacts thus far are:
CONTACT 1: Fixer - Goes way back with this contact
CONTACT 2: Decker - Computers were never Greer's strong suite, but he saved this decker's hide once upon a time. (This contact is flexible and can be changed)
CONTACT 3: Small-time Dealer - Greer picked up a some nasty habits, and has had an on-off relationship with Cram (and some harder drugs).

Was reading over acid damage and it is quite nasty If I activate acid fist is 8 on round 1, 7 on round 2, 6 on round 3 and so forth... :-) Like a plague Touch
Well he is uninitiated and has no totem so I was tinking of making him an escapee sorta like "Eleven" from stranger things
He was a john doe who got magically infused into him artificially in a lab can we go with that?
I think Aztecnology used to try and meddle with that. He was being designed to be "The Plague" a project called "4 horsemen"
But of course it that sounds too off or hard to connect with the rest of the party, specially since with the types we are gathering they would be more willing to sell him back to the Aztecnology than to help him :-)

Carlosg_81, how old would your character be? Maybe we could spin it so your character is linked to the catastrophic mission that got Greer kicked out of whatever corporation he was a part of before.
Maybe Greer helped your character escape the lab or the 4 Horsemen project came about as a result of something Greer might've done.
Or better yet, maybe we could have a fun little adopted son thing going, where Greer tried to raise your character as a normal boy - kind of like a Dexter Morgan situation minus the serial killing tenancies (unless your char is into that).

Carlosg_81 it sounds like Merkx might be wanted then? You could switch in the wanted negative quality.
Looks like we have some story strands coming up. A medical facility seems like one strand that might connect quite a few of you. Then there are the Aztechnology 4 horsemen that are hunting down Merkx and perhaps even Greer. We have a few druggies. That always brings problems (and fun story moments) I can see using the beat cop. And I love the stripper/fixer/dealer contact.

Carlosg_81: I am also thinking that because of the unique way Merkx powers came about he has a distinctive astral signature. So it is similar to distinctive style except it is magic based. So whenever he uses magic it has a very unique signature. So hiding magically is super hard. Downside is you get another negative quality. Upside is you get 5 more karma to use.
Ikenage: I can't find the consummate professional quality. Which book is it in?
Merithyme: With all those programs Wyvern has, perhaps one of Wyvern's contacts should be a computer programmer/hacker? Probably not a decker, since the programmer would be spending all their time writing code.
And for everyone else beside Carlosg. If you want to come up with another negative quality for 5 karma go for it. So you all start out on the same level.

@aaronschmidt
Consummate Profession (-3 Karma) appears in Assassin's Primer - here's what it does:
+2 Dice Pool bonus to social interaction rolls when interacting with employers. Divide total Karma by 20 (instead of 10 as normal) and round down in order to determine Street Cred.
If you don't like that drawback, then I can pick up Dependents (-3) instead.

I'll be taking out the code of honor and adding 'wanted' and the 'distictive signature' You mentioned.
My character can be any age we see fit.
I liked the Greer Helped thing sound really cool. As For the Horsemen I liked the Idea of having them chase me War Could be a Bad-Ass Cybered Troll With experimental Magical enhanced Cyberware, Hunger Could be some sort of banshee or psychic vampire who drains on other's magik and Death could be an A.I. as in D.E.A.T.H.
Just Brainstorming a bit. Gotta think on designing some contacts I think I am going to reduce my charisma so I have fewer contacts.

Or there could be Separate projects in the Horsemen program:
Enhancing Soldiers with experimental cyberware could be Project 'War'
Draining magic users of their magic could be project 'Hunger'
The AI Could be Project D.E.A.T.H.
And artificially creating aztecnology controllled magic users (whose magic was drained by project hunger) could be project "Plague"

The apocalypse storyline sounds cool. But I think the details should remain unknown. Merkx and Greer know the other attempts to make the other horsemen are clouded in rumor and misinformation. This storyline will also be revealed at its own pace woven with other storylines.

I have been preparing the run for next week. I think the Thanksgiving timing of things might slow it down a bit for those in the states. So we can be patient. In the meantime fill in the contacts and/or post in your character sidestory forum.
Nov 25, 2017 10:04 am
Forgive my ignorance, but what is a sidestory? How does it relate to a backstory?
Nov 25, 2017 1:16 pm
No ignorance. It is my own creation. It might be an opportunity for one to roleplay events that might happen during downtime. It might be a small write up of a character moment that you want to share with everyone that isn't part of the main thread. It can also be used for posting stuff about your character background.
So it is a newly contrived story space. Use it or not as you wish :)

Oh. More like character upkeep. Good to know. Can we also have some ground rules as players, a social contract or something?

JKL what are you thinking? Like no killing kids? No rape. Those would be my requests. Can't stomach those two things.

Submitted my character. I'm quite new to the system so please tell me if I missed something.
I meant steering clear of HMHVV and putting bombs in other PC's head but a clear understanding of what's too dark or abominable is nice to have too.

jkl123's character Nail Thompson is approved. He is one strong fraggin' elf! Looking at many of the characters I see that we will need to make sure there is plenty of action! I am sure we can include much RP also.
Marithyme - AKA Wyvern - Decker (Young character with a beat cop brother)
Keleth - AKA (no name yet) Rigger (Young character, weak/sick)
Lkenage - AKA Greer - Face/Skillomancer (Old-ass man, think M from James Bond but retired)
Carlosg_81 - AKA Merkx - Dwarf Mystic Adept and hand to hand combat specialist (connected to Greer who got him out of The FAcitility
jkl123's - AKA Nail Thompson - Muscle
We are now awaiting out rigger :)

One thing I really want to encourage for this game is related to the Moofsalot's Character Chemistry post in the general forums. Character Chemistry
The more in character banter between characters the better. I encourage you to have a few things your characters like about each other and a few things that might annoy you. For example, you might want to tease Nail Thompson about his Stripper/Fixer/Dealer. Does he have a thing for her? Does he hit on her every time they meet and she gets annoyed and that gives you all a negotiation roll penalty?
Do you guys perhaps sometimes try to encourage Wyvern to abuse his sibling status with his beat cop brother? Is Greer the father figure of the group?
Of course this should not be decided now. It should come out in play. But be liberal in throwing out hooks.

From what I understand, a character upkeep is where you post all the changes that happens in your sheet as well as some fluff on what you trained, how you trained, some 'encounter rolls', as well as some fluff outside of meets, missions, and messes. They also count income and expenses over there but I suppose that's more because they need a static copy of stuff since only a few people record voice/video chat.
Just my two cents. SR has a lot of bookkeeping, which is why this is only my third crack at it.

Yes SR has a lot of bookkeeping. I personally am not too strict about it. But I think it can be fun if flavored with fluff.
Example: In my in person game I play weekly, my face/rigger upgraded his flesh arm to a cyber arm. Instead of playing it out in the group this was my write up:
The crunch:
Alphaware Synthetic full cyber arm
Essence . 8 20,000¥ alphaware cost x1.2 so 24,000¥
Agility rating 3 19,500¥
Strength rating 3 19,500¥
Large smuggling compartment 8,000¥
Move the fingertip compartment with the monofiliment whip to the cyberarm.
Subtotal 71,000¥
Bone density Rating 3
Essence .9 (alpha ware .72) 20,000¥ alphaware cost x1.2 so 24,000¥
Subtotal 24,000¥
Total 95,000¥
Story time:
————————————————————————————————————
Silk is in his hotel room. He takes out his comm and looks at his bank credit. The account has more than he has ever owned in his life. He flips in AR and looks at a video of his little daughter Lily. Her little Ork tusks cute as they poke through her smile. She is almost a year older since he first decided to run the shadows. How much of her life has he missed?
He transfers fifteen grand to Tiger Jones’ account with a short text, "Put a down payment on a house for you and Lily. Things are looking up! "
Silk puts the comm down and looks at a mirror. He pulls off the mullet wig to reveal close cropped light brown hair. He takes out the brown contacts to reveal bright green eyes. Finally, he takes off the ear putty and fluffs his ears back to points. He coughs, trying to remember a voice he hasn’t used in a long time, "Hi my name is Colby Ives."
————————————————————————————————————
Colby gets a taxi down to the Aztecnology owned Eve Medical Center. He has an appointment with a top cybersurgeon, named Salina Sanchez. M.D.C The waiting room displays the disturbing William Blake painting of Satan Exulting over Eve. In a display case a cyber arm moves with perfect fluidity, making grand sweeping gestures and short micro movements. An AR display talks about the Alpha and Beta grade work done by Dr. Sanchez and the research team at EMC. A long cosmetic commercial showing the quality of their patented EveSkin procedure shows how the synthskin has micropores that breath "just like real skin but better".
"Mr. Ives, the doctor will see you now." The bio-tatted up assistant announces. His eyes are pure chrome, an attempt to look retro that is just new enough to look wiz.
The office is brilliant white with translucent walls. Light seeping in from outside giving a warm comfortable glow.
Dr. Sanchez has grey hair and an exquisitely sculpted face; a walking advertisement for her products. She looks up from her AR display. Her eyes quickly focusing on the real world, "Bienvenido, come on in Mr. Ives. We are always excited to see one of our own come to our facility."
Colby smiles, "Hola Doctor Sanchez." Carefully rolling r’s and emphasising c’s and z’s not like an anglophone. It had been a while since he had spoken the language but it came back quickly.
"I already pulled up your chart. It says here you have a Speedo brand control rig integrated in your nervous system. The initial nano scans show significant scarring around nerve centres. Did you install this thing yourself with a hacksaw and glue?" Her condescension is barely covered by her attempt at a playful tone. Colby is reminded why he hates the Azzies.
She smiles at Colby, "Hmmm. So you want our UltraPlatinum package for…" she looks at her display again, "…bone density enhancements and our top of the line Executive Rugged Sport Arm. That would be with the EveSkin synth." Her face concentrates as she looks at the diagnostics. "The attachments to the rig are going to be a challenge."
Colby just shrugs.
"A real sportsman aren’t you? Racing?
"Something like that." Colby looks at her straight in the eyes. "When can we get started?"
"We can start the initial nano bathe in an hour. I have a surgery slot two hours later. That sound good?"
"Sí."

"Sí."

But this is just for those that have time/interest. Pregame if you want to post a background story, the side story forum is where you can post. But it is completely optional.

To keep this game from dying before it gets started I am going to launch on Friday morning Bangkok time. Keleth can join in when he is ready. That is the good thing abiut Shadowrun. It is very modular.
For everything else we will just figure it out in the game :)

Awesome! I'm working on an intro/sidestory. Just lacking in time this week to sit down and write.

Sounds good! I'm gonna get an intro/sidestory going too. Looking forward to the game.

Keleth's character is up. We can welcome Lars the rigger. He is driving the van remotely. He is in contact with everyone through comms.

Ok, here we go.
Frank "The Colonel" Myers is a 50 year old human UCAS military veteran where he served for 30 years before being dishonourably discharged for going rogue and revealing top secret material.During his decorated military career The Colonel participated in a number of wars and Black Ops as well as undertaking contract shadow ops.
The Colonel is a highly capable, expert and professional soldier. He is highly regimented and meticulous with his routine and training, attributing his survival to this character trait. However, during The Colonel's service as special forces and intelligence divisions, he was exposed to extreme situations and secrets that would have turned a milder man insane. The Colonel is only halfway to the loony bin and has devolved into something of a paranoid conspiracy theorist spending his days on conspiracy channels through the matrix whilst avoiding the ire of the Military.
When you think of The Colonel, think of Burt Gummer of Tremors or Marvin Boggs of RED. He is regimented yet unhinged and prone to unpredictability. Given his experience with Intelligence, he is also a gifted forger.

However, The Colonel is hardened, resistant to pain and is a natural killer proficient with almost any weapon or his bare hands. He is tough and not to be messed with and for this reason is a prized companion for Shadowrunning crews...until his paranoia pisses them off...
To make his character I chose the following priorities:
- Metatype = C (human (3))
- Attribute = B (20)
- Magic/Resonance = E (0)
- Skills = A (46/10)
- Resources = C (140,000Y)
I will submit my character sheet for review and also continue with his backstory.

Can I share a character sheet and edit it after it is shared?
I'd like to get the ball rolling on any review while I tidy up some sections like finalising gear.

So how does Frank know the runners? The obvious connection to me it he knows Greer.
Feb 11, 2018 7:31 am
I think a Greer connection would be awesome.
Greer's background is covert intelligence services for UCAS, and then multiple corps, before he was burned and had to go on the run. In human standards, Greer's pushing 80 so he's been in the field long enough to pilot programs that are the de-facto standard now.
Maybe we worked together on some op long long ago, or possibly on opposite sides. Whichever you think will be more interesting! it would be funny to have a couple.if grumpy old war vets now acting as runners to maintain their cyberhips, haha

Greer sounds like the perfect way in for The Colonel. Let me give it a little thought in terms of plot but I like that angle.
Almost finished the character sheet now.
Just the rolls for the final calculations are below.
The character sheet should be ready for GM review/approval if needed.
Hopefully I haven't missed anything.
EDIT: Starting Nguyen stuffed up so I took the 2D6 roll here and applied squatter rate and carried over $5,000 from starting finances.

Rolls
Initiative - (1D6+10)
(5) + 10 = 15
Astral Initiative - (2D6+8)
(33) + 8 = 14
Matrix AR Initiative - (1D6+10)
(3) + 10 = 13
Starting Nguyen - (2D6)
(55) = 10
Feb 11, 2018 2:05 pm
Initiative is rolled whenever combat is encountered so the number will change each time. Just write the base number plus number of d6s you will get.

Thanks, I've been reading up and playing with Chummer. I should have a sheet up tomorrow, I'd be grateful if you could take a look at it then and give me some feedback.
Apr 29, 2018 5:49 pm
I'll try to make my character tonight. What's the party composition so far ? Anything in particular that could be a great help for the group ?
Apr 29, 2018 6:42 pm
We have a decker and a face-ish character.
We probably need a mage or muscle, or possibly both!
We probably need a mage or muscle, or possibly both!
Apr 29, 2018 8:44 pm
So those are 3 runners concept I'd like to use so, if your group had a choice, who would you call:
1) a troll street sam (melee/heavy weapons),
2) a dwarven mystic adept (not an easy mage to kill first) or
3) an ork (or human) adept assassin (combat/infiltration) ?...

Wyvern would call 2 or 3, because she's much more into being sneaky than frontal assaults
Apr 30, 2018 4:42 am
Greer would probably call either 2 or 3 too, since he prefers violence as a last resort.
Apr 30, 2018 5:38 am
Ohhhhh realllyyyyy... as images of Frank offing the Creepy Decker flash through me mind... hahahah
Apr 30, 2018 5:46 pm
I've submitted a character. I don't think it's very powerful, but it ticks my boxes of being fairly simple and (hopefully) interesting and characterful.
Apr 30, 2018 6:03 pm
He's cool. Reading his background I think he should also have the "You know a guy" quality. It seems he might know Everett, Wyvern's brother. Perhaps I can have Everett introduce you to the team? Are you ready to jump right in?
Apr 30, 2018 10:42 pm
Sorry I didn't come back earlier, got called at my job for an emergency and pulled a double so I didn't really have time to make my character. So here's what I'd like to do (with GM permission)... A mystic adept reflavored as a ninja wielding ninjutsu powers. Inspired by ninjas in naruto. Tradition could be Ninshū (忍宗, Viz: Ninja Creed, Literally meaning: Shinobi Sect), a intuition based tradition with mystic adepts and adepts. Ninjutsu would be the spells and Taijutsu the adept powers and skills. He would be part of an hidden clan in [insert city] where player are based. Would that be ok with the GM and the group ?
May 2, 2018 11:33 am
My player is almost finished, I should be able to post it before tonight !! Sorry it took so long, had a lot of work and its been a while since my last shadowrun game, and my first time making a Mystic Adept.
May 2, 2018 2:09 pm
No worries. Look forward to seeing the character. Now I have to figure out how to include him.
May 2, 2018 2:24 pm
Haven't fleshed out all the details but he has been secluded since birth to train and now has been sent out to train in the real world to learn about the modern ways. Will try to include his ninja clan as a contact and an outsider doing business with them. The outsider could be the same contact another player has (but with less loyalty towards me since we barely know)
May 3, 2018 6:55 am
Thanks for submitting. Some comments on the character.
1. Spellblade
Let's try your spell blade modification. If it needs tweaking in the future we can do that
2. Character BG.
I see this character as a bit of a superhero. He is a ninja that can kick ass and take names. Having a ninja clan is cool. I think there will be interesting clan dynamics to play. But he is missing his alter ego. The Clark Kent side. What is he like when he is not killing things? How does he buy milk in the grocery store? How will he help with the legwork part of the mission? The current chapter is a bit of a missing person noir story. How will he work with the current runner team?

For my BG, since I still have 20K left, I was thinkingof adding the "Made Man" (5 K) quality from Run Faster p.148 (replacing "organized crime syndicate" by "ninja clan"). As for his alter-ego, he was raised with no-name to make him understand that he "did not exist", and has just been deemed competent enough to go learn from "the real world" on his own. He is eager to learn new things (maybe I could add "jack of all trade and master of non" and/or "linguist" RF p.147-148) and find more about himself. For the team, he is a very intuitive person, so he can help with searching rooms, astral perceptions (aura reading can tell a lot about someone), judge intentions and is also good at sneaking around. He can also summon minor spirits that can help in a lot of ways. If I take linguist I can easily be the groups translator. In the future I'll be able to upgrade skills useful to the group and learn more utility spells (kind of limited at the start).
I'll be adding the ninja clan contact group soon and the Ninshū tradition for you to approve.
I'm sorry if it's taking too long, I'm the kind of guy who likes to fine-tune all the details of the character at creation...

My character is ready, I kept 2 contacts open to suggestion to help a tie in with the group. (I have 10 pts to spend. Starting pts + 4 K left).
Wang Lu, aka Akuma, has been trained from birth to be an elite warrior of the Mukei ha Ninja Clan. He always was eager to learn everything but was too young to be left alone outside with the secrets of the clan. Now that he is old and wise enough, he has been granted permission to leave the training grounds and take jobs on his own, as long as he still honors his duty as a member of the Mukei ha Clan. He is a good spellcaster with a basic knowledge in summoning, is fast and hard to hit. Can be very stealthy and has mastered more languages than most at his age. His best trait is his perception, he has been taught to always be aware of his surroundings.
Tradition: Ninshū (忍宗, Viz: Ninja Creed, Literally meaning: Shinobi Sect) (subject to gm approval)
Combat: Guardian spirit (SG p.193)
Detection: Guidance spirit (SG p.193)
Health: Man spirit (SR5 p.304)
Illusion: Plant spirit (SG p.193)
Manipulation: Task spirit (SG p.193)
Drain: Willpower+Intuition
The Ninshu tradition revolves around the perception of the world surrounding us. By perceiving clearly, one can alter it with training.
Preferred Spells: Spellblades, Combat Sense, Invisibility, Killing Intent (Stun bolt), [element] Grenades (SS p.17)
Prefered Powers: Astral perception, Combat Sense, Improved Reflexes, Traceless Walk, Adept Spell (HT p.190)

@Robago, Since you dont have the book, here's the text from Run Faster. If you need anything else, just ask.
[ +- ] I know a guy
I KNOW A GUY
People come and go in a character’s life; there are people encountered at parties and conventions, ex-army buddies, neighbors with unusual hobbies, and so on. After a while in your travels, you’ll know a few people, but not well enough to be contacts, or maybe they are people who could have been contacts if you’d gotten to know them better, or people who still would be a contact if circumstances were different. Take, for example, Han Solo and Lando Calrissian from Star Wars or Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood from Raiders of the Lost Ark. With the gamemaster’s permission, "I Know a Guy" allows the player to use Edge in pulling a contact from the character’s past. It’s expensive; players must spend Edge points equal to twice the desired Connection Rating of the contact. The resulting contact’s Loyalty starts at 1, although the gamemaster may change the Loyalty of the contact to suit the background and storyline of the adventure. The Edge spent on this contact does not refresh until the next point that the character earns Karma. After the mission/adventure, the character can spend the normal amount of Karma to add the new contact permanently. If that Karma is not spent, the individual fades back into the character’s past until they use Edge once more to summon them forth.

Good to meet you all, shouldn't take long for me to get my character up, she's already made, I just need to check all her stuff is in order then put her on GP. Other than that, I'm pretty new to SR, so excuse any errors I might happen to make.

No worries Bleak. Take your time. The current team need to fight off some ghouls right now.
I am sure they will appreciate someone with firepower to back them up.

Also, while I work on that, anyone care to give me a majorly shortened version of what's happened up to now, and who the characters are?
Oct 6, 2018 4:06 pm
Hi Bleak, welcome to the game.
Wyvern is a decker, Lu is a ninja, Checkmate is an ex-police-detective skill-o-mancer.
We are searching for missing person Ray Watts, a Lone Star detective.
Marithyme has helpfully summarised what we've found out here: https://gamersplane.com/forums/thread/8318/?view=lastPost#lastPost
Following the trail of the case Ray was working on (disappearance of Gerry Mosshammer) has led us to a Ghoul club called the Red Eye. After stirring up the locals we have fled the club, only to become cornered by some frenzied ghouls. Hopefully some of us will not have been eaten by the time you arrive on the scene (fingers crossed).

Well, depending on how soon I'm allowed in to the game, hopefully I'll be able to provide some fire support with that lol. Thanks for the rundown.

Hi Bleak,
Sorry for posting slowly, I was busy over the weekend.
I approved your character. I think the best way to bring in your character is if Lu, Checkmate and Wyvern realize they are dealing in a dangerous situation and want to get some back up. Perhaps Checkmate calls Nyx (Bleak) in?

Avatar test.
Sounds good. Nyx could easily have been conveniently lurking, too, given get copious amounts of chameleon cloaking.

Rigger is missing for sure. And everyone is human. So if you want to bring some metahumaness to the game. That could be a thing.
Oct 9, 2018 2:37 am
Those both sound interesting, maybe I could man them together. A troll rigger face... Might be a suboptimal build, but fun.
Edit: mostly joking, but I will see if I can make a face and rigger. If it seems like it would just be crappy at both, I'll specialize.

Peaches had been submitted, an Elf Rigger Face. I left the Notes section as a lot of character creation, and I'll need to come up with a backstory.
I might need to mess with the attributes. Not sure if the low Physical Limit I have works with the Reaction based Rigger part.

Peaches has been approved. Since Bleak hasn't posted yet perhaps Peaches is driving Nyx? Post first if you want. Nyx can be Peach's gun monkey.
