Chapter 1: The First Hunt

"Okay, what do I do now?" Lotus whispers to herself. "Think, think... Okay. Yeah." She tries her best to observe the goblins and pick out their routines, such as where patrols wander or maintain watch, what purpose each building seems to serve, and where possible leaders might be.

Lotus tries her best to get an estimate on the number of goblins, just to know how many the group may have to deal with.

Lotus crawls back a bit, then stands and rejoins the group to report her meager findings. "So, maybe if we're not going to fight, we just walk in with a white flag and ask to parlay?"

In me 'xperience, goblins don't parlay 'nless they've the lower hand. Maybe we should crawl through the brush. Did you get a sense of what was causing the mayhem in their camp?

"No, couldn't tell," says Lotus. "Isn't that how goblins normally are, though?"

I never seen it that way. They're well formed when it comes to fighting bands, in me 'xperience.

Lotus considers, "Okay, well... maybe you should stand with Lena to speak with them, and you can lend her your experience. Brunhilde and I will follow."

Krenq musters the best Common he can.Okay, but be ready to rumble. Miss Lena, care to join me up front? I promise not to bite. He puts his free hand out to her.

Lena takes Krenq's hand and nods. Ok everyone. We need to show them that we're strong. Stand tall and proud and make sure that your weapons are visible and ready.
Then she puts her flute to her lips and plays a heroic marching tune, declaring her prescence to the goblins. As soon as the first goblin appears she addresses it in goblin
You there. Go and fetch your leader. I will have words with him. There may be profit in it for you.

Krenq whispers: We should approach slowly. Let them know that we don't mean them harm, but that we don't take orders from low caste folk.

Lena nods, I'm happy to follow your experience. The only goblins I've ever dealt with are slaves.

Lena responds in goblin:
Greetings oh great and powerful Ghurlq, lord of the goblins. I bring greetings from the village. They know that they are no match for you and your powerful tribe, so they wish to make a bargain. What would it take to have you call off your raids on the village?

Brunhhilde tries to look as imposingg as she can without seeming aggressive.
