Hounds
TR2

Now in the thick of battle and filled with a lust for killing, the hounds bite viciously with an intent to kill. Some drive forward, while others seem to feint attack in order to draw attention and distract. They bite and then move aside for their brethren to do the same in a rolling series of surges and shifts. With these wolfpack tactics, they seem to choose two targets: Thorn and Oram.

Hound 1 Help Action to Hound 4
Hound 4 v. Thorn
Hound 6 v. Thorn
Hound 5 v. Oram
Hound 2 v. Oram
OOC:
I am 100% sure that my H4 and H5 damage rolls AND my H2 Attack roll disappeared at first click to post. Adding it to the list at the bottom out of sequence. This roller freaks out sometimes.
Results: Both Attacks v. Oram Hit
Oram begins Unconscious Condition.
Restrained Condition from H5 continues.
Grappled threat from H2, auto failed because of Unconscious condition.
Begin Restrained Condition from H2.

The dog that has Oram by the knee pulls him and makes him stumble, leaving him exposed when another leaps into the air and tackles Oram to the crowd. The second hound's maw closes over Oram's throat. The hound at the leg resets its bite as well, digging deep into the flesh of the leg, warm blood now flowing into the hound's mouth. Oram yells out and is overcome by the monsters, now unable to breathe or speak as his throat is nearly crushed.

Furious underneath the hindering net, the dog which Ivor trapped tries to bite and tear at the heavy ropes.

Hound 3 Attacks Net
Result: MISS

The slack of the net pile and the toughness of the rope make it difficult, and the hound's sharp teeth have little effect.

Thorn grunts in surprise as he feels canine teeth sink into him twice, tearing away. The blood begins to flow, and he clenches his jaw, setting himself to the task of living.

Urdav's blade arcs toward one hound, and at that last second diverts left, catching the monster next to it off guard.

Blade dripping, Thorn brings his sword around and up for another slice into the creature's shoulder.

OOC:
How's the dog doing, J? I think I'd like to use an action surge, but I'm wondering where to direct it...

Attack 1 & 2 Both Hit v. H6

Attack 1 Miss, Attack 2 Hit v. H5 (Oram's leg hold dog)

Kray again feels the dog's tough hide deny him the injury that his blade would deliver to a normal animal. He arcs around though and brings Serpent's Judgement straight downward towards the hound's spine. The beast shifts out of the way just in time before being cloven in half. Each time Kray can sense the dog wearing down a little more, but it still clearly has some reserve of fury left to fight on.

AS Attack 1 v. H6 Hit
OOC:
X, you say above "H5 until dead, followed by Oram's dog."
H5 is Oram's dog. I'm assuming here that you meant H6, which is fighting you and you have already injured.
Thorn drive's his blade low and forward, stabbing into one of the hounds and driving it back the length of his blade as it lets out a loud deep-throated yelp. The blade plunges into the chest briefly, then the dog slides off of it from the momentum and rolls once to the ground. It lies where it lands, still stirring, but not enough strength to rise again.

AS Attack 2 v. H5 Hit

Seeing one dog fall, Thorn turns away from the others attacking him to instead move and strike at one of the dogs that is close to killing Ron Oram. Urdav's blade swings through and tears through the shoulder of the dog, making a severe gash in it's shoulder and chest, spinning it into a whirl and driving it several steps away. The beast is failing now--not dead, but extremely injured and no longer setting upon Oram.

Round 2 Update
Opponent Disposition Review
OOC:
Thorn seems to have put H6 down.
H4 is actively targeting Thorn, while H1 is hanging back a step or two helping.

H5, previously attacking Oram, is also knocked back by Thorn. Still standing, barely, but not reengaging.
H2 still attacks Oram with a vicious neck and shoulder bite.

H3 is still caught in Ivor's net.

R2 Reaction

Sentinel OA

OA v. H5 Hit

Ivor sees that one of the dog attacking Oram on the ground is leaving himself exposed. At the same moment, Thorn strikes the dog and spins it away from Oram, still in reach range of a trident. Ivor steals the quick moment to stab the staggered hound, piercing into it's shoulder and chest with all three prongs.

The hound lets out a rumbling sound, more like a roar than a bark, and falls over.

Trident Attack 1 & 2, Dagger Attack: All hits

In a frenzy of brutality, Ivor stabs into the captured hound with both trident and then dagger.

When Ivor's blade slides into the eye of the beast, it is instantly stilled and drops. Ivor hears the vulgar splash of fluid and bursting of tissue. As Ivor bends down briefly to reset and tear free his dagger, he feels a pulse of heat burst out from the open wound.

As he draws the dagger free and then shifts the net in preparation of snatching it free from the carcass, Ivor sees that smoke is coming out of the dead dog's eye. To Ivor's surprise, the structure around the eye socket catches to a small flame!

As one hound is knocked back by Thorn and Kray, Maeriks side steps again, gaining a better angle at the second hound mauling Oram. He considers thrusting his glaive at the beast but sees Oram is in dire need to escape now and couldn't last another moment. Lowering the glaive to his aide, he rushes in close and throws an arm around Oram and attempts to haul him back, hoping that the beast will release its bite. In this close, he looks straight into the creature's eye and shouts like he himself were a primal beast. This is mine and you will not take it from me.

Grapple Oram and attempt to pull back. Action surge to cast Cure Wounds on Oram.

BR2

Maeriks latches Oram under the arm and heaves him up. The monstrous hound tries to keep hold, but Maeriks' face-to-face staredown followed by the sudden lift causes the dog to release, dropping from his hind legs back down to the ground where he resets and barks loudly at Maeriks while taking a squared-off threatening stance. Still though, the hound stops short of advancing, instead shifting back a step, growling and baring its blood-covered teeth.

Maeriks can feel that Oram is unconscious at first, but after the super natural healing he lets out a gasp and his eyes open wide. He is still in bad shape, but Oram is alert now. He stares at Maeriks in surprise and confusion, not yet knowing how he was just saved from the very brink of death and now pulled back to life.

For those who can afford to steal a glance to the sidelines in all of the confusion... (your call on who can really take time to make this survey of the surroundings)
As you look northward...
OOC:
That means roughly behind you, sort of at an angle, downhill, in the general direction from which you traveled to get here.
...you see Bezil Koral lying on his back, convulsing and thrashing about at first but then coming to a complete halt of tension. A cloaked figure pulls a black-clad arm out from Koral's low abdomen ...and in the figure's hand is a bloody organ!

The figure stands up, holding the grotesque mass of red-brown flesh in the right hand. The figure glares directly at Ivor, stopping to stare, yet Ivor can see no face, only shadow.

And then, just like that, the cloaked figure turns away and tosses the fleshy organ to the ground. It bounces once in the ferns before splatting to a stop. The figure walks away northward, towards the trees downhill.
