Bryn
(DM Control)
R1

Bryn has all focus on the chains separating him from Thorn. He hears Kray's orders and responds loud without turning around. "Just a little longer - I've almost got the barrier."

He puts a hand on one of the chains and speaks out in a short set of strange words. The chain jumps to life, slashes at him, then unravels wildly. When it clangs out of the barrier interweave, it swings at Bryn again.

Bryn puts his hand up to guard his face as he ducks. He shouts another unknown command word again, loudly and twice.

The chain throws itself away towards the center of he room, gliding over The Pit and disappearing in the cluttered crowd of Irons there.

"Fuck!" Bryn shouts in frustration.

He cautiously goes back to the chain barrier, glancing up at Thorn on the other side. "Working on it!" the ragged Dannein barks, shaking his head and reading quickly again.

Iasu
(pre-R1)

Iasu struggles against the writhing iron snakes that constrict around him, trying to tear them away, but he cannot. The sliding coils are too strong.

Fail STR attempt to break Iron Coils Set 1
OOC:
Jabes, writing this from your previous roll. I'm a little out of sequence, but will consider this sort of "pre-Round" work. During R1 Action, Iasu can attempt to break free from Iron Coil Set 2.
Apr 4, 2019 11:27 pm
OOC:
Attempt to break free on my turn? Or as part of this "pre-round" phase? Sending it now in any case.

Edit: Ah, I see it now, during my turn. So more failure in store.

OOC:
The big mouth goon monster is just kind of getting its bearings, barking, shambling at the edge. He just climbed up - hasn't had time yet to get into Action.

The Bull is there, I think Ryhim was behind him already when last we heard. I think he can try to Hide behind/below the bull. Hide would be a comparison vs. observers, so we'd see if it was successful or not.

Would need to keep in mind that the Bull is simultaneously charging into Movement and hoping to reach destination of standing on top of Iasu and holding him down. As a hiding place then, it's sort of fleeting - heading into what would seem to be high visibility positioning, so that would have to be considered for the future of the Round and next.

Iasu
R1

Iasu desperately tries again to break free, to no avail.

Escaping by brute force seems hopeless now; Iasu is wrapped tight and The Irons hanging from the chamber are quickly beginning to lift him off of the floor.

Fail STR Check to break free of Iron Coil Set 2.
No further STR Check attempts available.
OOC:
Went ahead, to get that over with. Bad news, but not really unexpected I guess.

Good input, all around.

I agree, bull M anchors Iasu. Ryhim, go for that push. Move to get to the pit edge and push. Keep in mind that if grappled by a hel bat or chain you'll be a turn (2 tops) from being tossed in. They drag 5 feet a turn, iirc.

Kray can assist on hel bats, but he'll be late round so that could evolve, depending on variables as the round evolves.

I say we ignore Elam this turn. Ultimately, I think Bryn will be our fixer on Elam, once Bryn (hopefully) owns the chains, or at the least neutralizes them. Which will hopefully free Thron from his boxed in situation.

If we can keep Iasu grounded (Bull M), knock the hel spawn beast back into the pit (Ryhim) and neutralize some hel bats (Kray) I think that's our best start. Kray will essentially be on hel bat patrol, wasting wrappers.

Yes, wrappers. Not rappers. Ha!

Keep in mind, J said Iasu gets one crack per snake coil wrap. Jabes, have you considered any rerolls you might have? Not sure if you've got any via Commitment to Mission or if Iasu is rocking a different play style (aka barbarian like CB etc). Whatever you've got, it might be the time. Depends on you and I'm certain you can determine when to put it to use.

And, that said, all remember your characters capabilities, especially the rarely used like rerolls, etc. We don't have much room for error in this blood box.

Luck be a lady covered in cool whip. Cherries and all of it.

I'm late to the party. Damn. Well, let's see how it shakes out. Kray is late round so will fill in as needed.

Sunnuva bitch. Bryn's roll of a 1 for the chains makes me want that 'allies reroll a 1' feat. So bad. It's on my radar.

Focusing again on the surviving of the cesspool. 5 edimmu left as a reminder.

Hang in there Jabes. Got a mountain to hold you down.

Ryhim
R1 (Results)

Ryhim hugs underneath the bull to stay out of sight until one of the edimmu flier approaches. The Sarceran pops up suddenly and fires an arrow at nearly point blank range, skewering a bat-wing flier through the mouth. The head crashes to the floor in a loud knock and the slapping sound of tentacles and wings hitting the flat stone.

Hit. E3 Down.

Resist vs. Enwrap DC 8 Success

Swatting and twisting its head back and forth, the big bull knocks away the grapplers while charging forward.

Just as Iasu is lifting off of the floor, the bull leaps up and straddles over him. Though The Irons are still harnessed and hooked to Iasu's cruel wrapping coils, the Hechesi ranger is blocked and held in place, under the legs of the intervening bull!

Just a crazy idea, probably a bad one, and not sure if it can be inserted into this point of the mix, but what the hell...
As Iasu struugles in vain against the iron bands, his energy sapped by Elam's betrayal, a word comes to Iasu's lips, "Warad-Syyra"
Apr 5, 2019 10:27 pm
Iasu sounds out the command word as he was taught, but it commands nothing. A fake.

Elam, hanging high above the ground, surveys the scene with cold efficiency.

The Markkelander barking out foolish appeals.
The pit fiend climbing onto the sloping edge.
The brutish Dannein cow barreling in - perfection of a dull oaf.

Elam does not have time for this. He needs to complete the ritual and transfer the offering. Iasu's blood needs to spill in The Devotion. Now.

The bull is in the way. Very well - to the slaughter then.

Elam raises his hands out and calls the Small Irons, even as The Mains set to work.

Bull Maeriks
R1
(Results, DM control)

Standing astride Iasu, using its bulk, wide space, and raw strength, the bull stands its ground - defiant.

The large irons lash all around it, slamming into its head, shoulders, and flanks, and then wrapping all around its body. Once gaining a latched hold, the chains work in unison to heave and pull the beefy animal. The force of the pulls and throws is terrible. The bull falters and shudders, and nearly loses its footing as the chains jerk and squeeze its legs.

Still Iasu, wrapped in irons, is underneath. The bull bends down, leaning its front end towards the floor to keep its weight to the ground.

All the while, the tentacles of the edimmu flying heads cling and peel away at the bulls ears, neck, and eyes.

The bull yells out desperately, bellowing in the strain. It is almost thrown over.

Almost.

In a loud moo, a violent thrash of the shoulders and head, the bull pivots and drives its weight back down, crashing to the floor and leaning into the cluster of chains wrapping it.

The bull will not move. It will not release its claim.

Iasu is pinned to the floor.
