The Small Irons
R1

When Elam the Chainmaster lifts his hands and makes the call, the Small Irons descend like steel lighting from the veil of darkness that hangs over the Pit Chamber like a cloak.

Thinner and faster than The Mains, The Small Irons cut through the air as whips. Curling and gliding with perfect precision, they weave through the Main Irons already wrapping the bull. The Small Irons glide across the thick hide of the animal, twist under and around, loop back on themselves...

and then snatch tight.

When they do, it is devastating.

Ending in sharpened knives and hooks, serrated in razor edges all along their length, the Small Irons are not only tools, they are weapons. They are lines of scalpels harder than diamonds.

The bull bellows out in agony as the bladed chains slice through its hide - merciless.

Bull Maeriks
(Results, DM Control)

Wrapped in the Main Irons, being shredded by the Small Irons, edimmu fliers nearly peeling the skin from its face - the bull is an island of suffering ...

... but a pillar of sacrifice.

Steadfast to a fault, but on the brink of disaster, the bull bleeds and cries out, giving everything it has to hold its ground, and its friend.

"Back away to the entryway, Mercon! Call the men back!" Elam's voice rings out with heavy echo through the room, somehow enhanced by his eldritch mastery over the arcane chamber perhaps.

"Iasu is mine. You cannot save him, but you can save yourself and the others. Move to the entryway, and I will release the barrier. Stand against me, and everyone will die."

The blue-skinned devil glares down at Kray from on high. No longer a skilled swordsman on the ground, he floats above - like an angel of death.

Nice dice! Screw that flying face-wrapper!

Kray glares defiantly at Elam, the nearest edimmu flailing pathetically from his shield.

A flicker of thought.

Elam has none worth saving here, all are his hapless pawns or demonic machinations. The bastard is a Deceiver.

Kray could sense Elam's pause for concern. Even if the bull dies, a valiant sacrifice as it endures hellish torture, it will be covering Iasu, weighing him to the floor. If only Bryn could solve the riddle of these chains...

If Elam was certain of the upper hand, he would not make such an offer. Kray's prior offer was one of desperation, but now, with the bull stalling the liar's efforts, the field of battle seemed leveled, on more even footing.

Kray's lungs shook with fury, his voice catapulting the damnation at Elam. "We are now past negotiations, DECEIVER! Your own blood cannot trust in you, YOU who slaughtered your kin as if they were diseased livestock to be cast aside! ELAM THE BETRAYER! KINSLAYER!!!"

At that, Kray snaked attacks at the nearby hel bats, Judgement sawing in an effort to buy Bryn time to solve the infernal chains.

Elam must be grounded!

Attacks against the edimmu. Main target is the one on Bryn then the one that attacked Kray. Kray will hold position to protect Bryn.

Gents, again, I think no point in Elam until the edimmu are out of the picture.

The brutish monster shambles forward on four stubby leg trunks, clenching its great clawed hands in and out. Its leathery body pulses as its giant mouth clamps shut and then opens wide again.

Movement

The monster sounds out with a terrifying string of Loud moans, growls, and cough-like barks as it approaches threateningly.

Its large bulbous eyes, mounted on the top corners of its frame along its mouth line, roll around peering this way and that.

The monster is disturbing to look upon, it is so unnatural.

Kray
R1 Results

Kray sidesteps and pushes the attacking edimmu aside as he ducks behind the great shield.

Swinging Serpent's Judgement just over Bryn's head, Kray splits one flying edimmu bat apart and then arcs back with a reverse chop that cracks the skull of another flier. Both of the creatures crash to the floor in a heap of blood, tentacles, brains, and wings.

OOC:
What's good, Mercon? My planned turn is most likely movement and attack. I'm guaranteed to go before Elam and the Pit Fiend and I have a potential to go before the edimmu's.

I feel Kray could sweep up the remaining edimmu's, seeing there is two left. We still don't know what the fiend is capable of so the push can still go through and possibly snuff that fire before it burns. It looks like it is going for Kray and Bryn, definitely don't want him fucking with someone that has the potential to end these chains. Ryhim will be one of the first to go so if the push fails Kray will be able to direct his focus to the fiend if need be.
Apr 6, 2019 10:15 pm
Go for it Hyp. Risk at the edge of the pit, keep in mind. But yeah, keeping Bryn safe from distractions is prime time. Kray can handle edimmu and keep Bryn safe.

Depending on initiative.

R1 update
OOC:
X, writing this short entry in the spirit of your comment on Admin/OOC.
More shrieks, grunts, and snarls echo down the tunnel from the Séance Chamber. Thorn has not seen anything emerge into the upper threshold at the high end of the tunnel. He feels that he could see it if it did; the light from the upper room would, hopefully, silhouette whatever might approach.

Turning back around to the chain barrier, Thorn tries one swing just to be sure. Urdav's blade hits heavy with a clang, even causing sparks to flash out in the dark.

As he had suspected, The Irons hold though. The chains have enough slack and are tough enough to absorb slicing impact damage, but also too tightly woven and taunt. The barrier is secure and effective - no traffic in or out.

Thorn sees Bryn, just on the other side of the massive chain net, working diligently to remove more chains and open up the barrier, at least enough to slip through - one way or another.

Nice dice. Slotted in right before the Pit Fiend. Assuming after you push the Pit Fiend Hyp that you're BA disengage. Being the near the pit is bad business.
