#1 - Root of the Problem

Frozen in place, Cammy snaps back into focus when she hears Mist. "Wait, I'm coming with you!" She runs after him into the building.

For a moment Rosethorn was happy in his rage as he saw the fear in their eyes - "God it feels so good to let it out!" he thought to himself scanning the group of scum. But then his eyes landed on the small crowd that had gathered to see the action. The cellphones were out recording, as always, but he also noticed some lift their phones and start dialing with pure terror in their eyes. "Man, I didn't even notice them. Why does this always have to happen!" he fumed to himself. For a moment his attention was split between the crowd and the thugs, not even hearing the chatter of his team.

Winter break's over. Back to the game
The gigantic tree man looks down at Mist and Cammy. He's barely acknowledging you, and definitely not treating you seriously and is planning to simply push his way past you. A lumbering branch of an arm swoops towards both of you, likely to push you out of the way.

There is indeed a large crowd gathering. Quite a few screams of panic and awe, and not just from the bank robbers. They weren't prepared for this and look around desperately looking for an exit. The one with an automatic weapon who called out Rosethorn has dropped his gun entirely and has collapsed to the floor as he flexes his thorns.

The rest of his team split up and break, similarly freaked out. The woman with the handgun springs out from behind her cover and is trying to run into the crowd. The two with a shotguns are trying to run down an alleyway that you know leads to a dead end (must not be locals) and one decides to chance his way to the van carrying as much loot as he can; which does mean running past at least one of Rosethorn, Kingfisher, Quasar and Whimsey.

What's the plan team?

Seeing the tree come towards her, Cammy rushes in front of Mist, feeling the hard ground meld into her form as she tries to block the branch.
OOC:
Basically, Cammy is taking on the properties of the floor using Substance Mimicry and knocking the tree branch away.

Cammy takes on the form of the floor, a mixture of linoleum and concrete. It's not the greatest defense against the branches but it takes the brunt of the branch, bending the wood around you, and it gently comes to a stop landing between you both. However, you now have his full attention. The branches fix themselves to the floor and sprout additional branches of their own, separating you both, putting Mist outside the store with the rest of the treeman and trapping Cammy inside of it.

"Ah, crap. Okay, you guys round up the goons, I’m gonna try to get Cammy out of there." Mist ducks under the branches and tries to phase into where he guesses Cammy is in among all the plant matter.
OOC:
Since that’s a 7-9, I guess I’ll go with the GM will tell you how the effect is unstable or temporary.

Cutting through his reverie, Rosethorn began to feel something nearby. Something growing and spreading. Something familiar....

But that feeling is interrupted by the thug running by towards the van. "I don't think so" Rosethorn growls, whipping his arms out, trying to clothesline the thief.
OOC:
Post-roll edit. Woohoo! I'm choosing take something from them to have the thug drop the loot , and create an opportunity for your allies to suprise/distract the ent by hitting him with the flying thug. Let me know if any of this is not kosker
The thug tries to duck, but it's too late as Rosethorn drives him like a bat hitting a baseball. Letting out a guttural "Oof" the thug releases his hold on the loot as he sails through the air towards the building, landing hard into the mass of plant matter that now occupies the door.

The thug goes hurtling through the air and bounces, almost comically, off of the treeman in the doorframe. He turns to face you; you have his full attention. "Run along now sapling, unless you want Old Willow show you a thing or two". He stomps towards you, slowly but angrily, leaving a line of roots chewing through the concrete as he does so.

It's still a weird experience for you to phase through living matter; even if it's just mostly plant matter there's that uncomfortable feeling as your molecules pass through cell matter, connected to what's ostensibly a living being with a heartbeat behind it. Nevertheless you pass through, reach out for Cammy and get through fine.

You really, really don't want to do that again; not for a while. You're going to take a powerful blow if you phase through any part of Old Willow again this scene.

What now?

"Okay, real talk, I didn’t have a plan going into this and also I don’t think I can handle phasing through Treebeard again. You have any ideas?"
Jan 22, 2018 3:36 am
"Only bad ones. Here goes nothing." Cammy grabs the closest tree branch, focusing intently on it as she tries to drain and weaken her target. As she grabs the branch with one hand, her other hand forms into a similar tree form that she hopes to use as a whip. The energy has to be channeled somewhere, after all. It might as well be useful...

Quasar stands rooted to the spot, charged up, muttering "Don't screw up! Don't screw up!" under his breath for what seems like an eternity. All his life Julio has never really fit in anywhere. In every group he's been a part of he's always felt like an impostor - as if sooner or later they're going to realize he's only there because there's been some mistake and kick him out. He felt like that at Science Club meetings and so he quit. Robotics Club, too, and even RPG group at the gaming store. Probably why he stopped gaming at the table altogether and starting playing via play-by-post exclusively. He's just never fit in. And now this group, these heroes, as inexperienced as everyone is they all seem to know what to do while all he's done is stand here...

Quasar's thoughts are interrupted when he hears Cammy's voice calling for help. Eyes blazing, he focuses on Old Willow and lets loose.
