Howard paces as he poses the questions he is pondering. "Where is the Roanoke colony? I would like to learn more about the people and customs of the area." He pauses as he turns to continue pacing. "The reporter seemed to be a rather professional journalist, I wonder what more we could learn from his field notes. Perhaps we can phone his family to learn more about what was really going on in the camp." He looks at the rest of the group to gauge how patient they might be in preparation and research Howard feels he needs. "Dean, I do sense the urgency in finding your answers. Exactly how long do we have to get back to you with the information you need?"
Marv barks a laugh and swats Howard on the shoulder. "I guess it's time to go then, no?" Without waiting for an answer, he walks out the door, making his way toward the Hudson and their journey, chuckling along the way.
OOC:
Keeper, could Marv take his vehicle with him? Is it OK for him to have the vehicle? He can leave it here if that works best for the story.
"Has anyone checked Whitmer's office?" Barry says. "I know you want us out there quick, but it wouldn't be much of a detour, and there might be something in his papers that gives us a clue about what's going on."
"I agree, let's check his office while the others pack the Hudson." Howard zips to Professor Whitmer's office, searches for anything interesting, and takes what he finds with him, probably putting it into his briefcase. He then stops by his own office, grabs his travel bag containing a change of clothes and toiletries, leaves the office, places his travel bag into the trunk, and jumps into the back seat of the car with his brief case on his lap.
Getting close to the Hudson, Marv stops, spinning the keys on a finger as he stares at the vehicle in contemplation. After awhile, he seems to come to a decision and turns to whomever followed him out to the vehicle. "Here, you can drive the Hudson. I'd rather take my car."
Howard opens his brief case and pulls out his driving gloves. "I will be happy to take the wheel. Driving reminds me of going on safari with father." Howard continues to fondly reminisce as he walks around to the driver side of the car. "He would have me chase the beasts a little. He was not at all proficient in shooting a moving target, but it only takes a short run for a lion or a rhinoceros to give up a long sprint." He sits behind the wheel, and smiles at the others as if he is about to reveal something they should find quite interesting, "Herd animals however, are quite a different sport. Just take aim at the general center of the lot, and with a few shots you are bound to get something splendid for your trophy." As he finishes, he smiles at Marv and reaches his hand out to receive the keys.
As Doctor Mellon circles the car, he is startled by a large, unwelcoming figure, already sitting in the driver's seat. The window is open and billows of sour, hand-rolled cigarette smoke roll out. The blonde-haired tough behind the wheel regards Dr. Mellon coolly.
"We already have a driver. Don't we, Hopkins?"
He nods toward the professor just approaching the car, delivering a meaningful, barely perceptible nod.
Marv nods at Barry with a smile. "Got room for one. You're it." He motions for Barry to get in as he starts up the engine. He grips the steering wheel, eager to get on the road, taking pleasure in the way the engine rumbles through his hands.
"Are we all here?" he calls back to the other vehicle.
OOC:
By my count, all PCs are here and ready to go. Am I missing anyone?
