There are none he can see.

Wil gives a hand-signal to Baroth behind him, indicating to wait, while he sneaks up to the oak doors.

OOC:
cheif12justice, you don't have to make a check for every action. One stealth check is fine until you do something different than sneaking around. Same with perception checks. Any one character need not do two perception checks at the same place. I will tell you first time what's significant and noticable.
Jan 5, 2018 7:03 pm
Alright, Wil checks the oak doors to see if they're locked.
Jan 5, 2018 7:04 pm
The oak doors are unlocked.
OOC:
Also, if there's a particular subject you are looking for with your perception check that I fail to mention, ask and I will add onto what I said earlier.
Jan 5, 2018 7:06 pm
Wil sneaks through the oak doors, then looks around.
OOC:
Stealth, Perception. Do you want me to reroll either of these for the new set of doors?
Jan 5, 2018 7:21 pm
OOC:
I think you're using perception in the role that passive perception fills. If I need a perception check for you to look for something, I will ask. In the times between, I will refer to your passive perception to tell you hidden things you pick up on while idly walking around. Stealth checks, however, you can do as much as you like but I was saying it's not completely necessary because, as long as you do very little but sneaking around, it is still valid for a bit.
The oaken doors open to a foyer. Hanging on the wall is a shield emblazoned by a coat of arms, flanked by framed portraits of stony-faced aristocrats. Mahogany-framed doors set with panes of stained glass are on the opposite side of the foyer.
Jan 5, 2018 7:29 pm
Wil waves the group forward into the foyer, and steps in.
Jan 5, 2018 7:31 pm
Ryn watched as Will snuck into the house, "I guess we're going in then." Ryn drops back down to a knee to look at the kids at their height, "Uh, kids, how old is your brother, and where is he in the house? Are there any locked doors or anything that could be dangerous in the house if we get your brother?" While he's waiting for a response, Ryn examines the kids to see their general well being after being left alone for awhile.
OOC:
He's looking to see if they are dirty or clean, malnurished, or anything else that would look like neglect

Perception - (1d20+3)

(8) + 3 = 11

Walter is only a baby and he's in the nursery. The girl say. Now that you look at them, they seem dirty but not malnourished, as if they've been sleeping outside in the same clothes for a couple of days. They couldn't have been alone for more than three days. The nursery is on the third floor.
Jan 5, 2018 8:50 pm
"Thank you little ones for the information, we will see to your brother." Ryn heads to the door waving Baroth up to the front door, out of ear shot of the children he discusses his concerns. "We need to check on the well being of their brother. The children look to have spent the last several nights outside, on their own. I fear the worst for their baby brother if he has been abandoned for the past 3 days in the house alone." . Ryn pulls out a dagger and his arcane rod and heads into the door.
OOC:
If there is no light, he will cast light onto his dagger, if there is a light source he won't.

Baroth follows them inside
Jan 6, 2018 12:52 am
Greymond follows each hand clutching a vial of liquid strung from his braided beard. I know I'm a dwarf, but hells this place is dark.
Jan 6, 2018 1:31 am
Ryn's dagger shines in the absence of light in the foyer. As you all advance through the mahogany doors, you observe that it opens up into a main hall that spans the width of the house. It has a black marble fireplace at one end and a sweeping red marble staircase at the other. There are several doors in the hall, one very close on the same wall as the doorway you had come though and four along the opposite wall.
Jan 6, 2018 2:45 am
Can anyone cast light on my shield? Baroth seeing the stairs is about to head over to it. I think the more light we have the better. Baroth is looking a little antsy and wants to get up the stairs to try and find the child.

"Of course." Ryn reached out and touched Baroth's shield, extinguishing the light on his dagger and sheathing it. Ryn pointed towards the stairs "Lead away my friend."
Jan 6, 2018 3:56 am
Will puts his shortsword away, and draws his shortbow, and follows about 10 feet behind Baroth, standing near Ryn.
Jan 6, 2018 4:08 am
Baroth make his way up the stairs. He slowly makes his way up keeping his eyes and ears open to see if there is anything around. When he gets to the top he takes a looks around. He is looking for signs of life.

Perception for life - (1d20)

(3) = 3

At first, Baroth is startled to see humanoid figures lined against the walls of this grand hall but is relieved to see that they are only suits of armor, each clutching a spear and bearing a visor shaped like a wolf's head. Unlit oil lamps line the room. Above the mantlepiece of another marble fireplace, there hangs a picture of a family: a mother, a father, a swaddled baby in the father's arms, and the children you met outside, Rose and Thorn. The paneling that lines the room depict youths dancing.

There is another marble staircase leading up to the third floor. A cold draft eliminates from the opening. There is a door right next to you as well as two sets of double doors on either side, suits of armor on either side of each.

OOC:
Apologies, was at work.
Greymond followed the rest of the group up the stairs trying to stay closer towards the front, between Ryn and Wil. In a whispered voice and pulling a vial from his beard sorry, can't throw very far. making a throwing motion as he passes.
