There doesn't seem to be anything valuable except for expensive looking but old furnature. Beyond the corpse lying in the chest and the stairway in the wall, there doesn't seem to be anything of interest either.

Ryn takes a deep breath as the specter dissipated. "That was ridiculious. We were so lucky that thing didn't do much damage. Good job finishing her off Wil." Ryn takes a moment to pick up the copper his mage hand held, and he retouches Baroth's shield casting light on it. He then moves over and closes the lid of the case. "I think this is one more body that needs to be placed underground in consecrated land. What next?"

I am glad that thing is gone. Baroth still holding the doll in his hand. Looking at the stairs, Baroth has a look of fear and curiosity on his face. Should we go down there? his voice sounding child like.
Jan 17, 2018 6:30 am
Yes, we definitely should go there. I’ll take the lead and sneak, just scouting downstairs, in order to let you know what’s down there. Wil begins sneaking down the stairwell into the basement.

Stealthing down the spiral staircase - (1d20+7)

(6) + 7 = 13

As the ghastily form dissipates Greymond shifts his hand into his satchel and leaves it there. I take it back. I'm not afraid of burning the house down. Just afraid of doing it with us still inside. He follows the group down the stairs. At the mention of damage he pipes up again.I do have some limited healing if anyone is in need?
Jan 17, 2018 4:33 pm
The spiral stairway is cramped and dark. It seems as if its going on forever.
OOC:
Please advance to level 2!

I'm okay. Baroth takes his hand then places it on his chest where the suit of armor punched him. His hand glows and his sore ribs starts to feel better. Let's get this over with. Sorry Thorn. Your spirit is making it feel a little crowded in here. Baroth heads down the stairs after giving Will some time to go down and check things out. Leaving space so the light from his shield won't affect what Will is doing.
OOC:
used two points of lay on hands.

Wil continues to descend further and further down the stairs.
Jan 17, 2018 7:52 pm
After taking a moment to settle himself Ryn follows the others down the stairs.
OOC:
I took fiendish vigor so I have 8 extra hp. I cast it at will so every hour I’m casting it.

Wil draws his shortbow preparing for anything down the steps as he descends.

The wooden spiral staircase ends. A narrow tunnel extends southward before branching east and west. The tunnel seems to be carved straight out of rock and is shrouded in pitch darkness. All of you hear eerie, incessant chanting from far away, the direction indiscernible.
Jan 18, 2018 4:41 pm
Wil moves southward, then turns left (east), and sneaks in that direction.

You have no light and can't see anything down the passageway. Lighting a candle from your pack, you are able to dicern that there is a passage branching off to the right while the passage itself turns to the left farther down.

Baroth gets to the bottom of the stairs and then walks to the end of the narrow tunnel. His light from his shield showing the way. He stops at the fork and waits to see if Wil comes back.

As Greymond reaches the bottom of the stairs with the rest of the group he pauses taking in the stone-work, before removing a glove and running his bare palm across it. Trying to glean any information on who might have carved such a thing out of solid rock like his clansmen. He then reaches into his pack and pulls out his hemp rope looking for a place to tie it off too. Don't want to get lost in here eh'. Either of them kids know the way? I don't think this part was in the toy house.

Rolls

History check for stone work - (1D20+6)

(19) + 6 = 25

Jan 18, 2018 6:43 pm
Greymond: There are wooden beams pacing the wall every five feet so its easy to find a place to tie a rope. The stone seems to be carved by run-of-the-mill miners or contractors but doesn't have the structure of a mine or a normal basement.

Baroth: Your shield's light illuminating the hallway, you see what Wil sees as well as two side passages branching off of the west hallway, one north and one south, as well as a room with a table in it at the end. You can only see a small bit of the room with the light you have.
