The creature's heavy footsteps sound as you all round the corner but stop halfway. The footsteps slowly resume, leaving in the direction they came.

Ryn stops to catch his breath... and turns to look back at where the creature was. "This needs to be handled at some point, but one more hit from that creature and I would have died. This place is messed up."

Aye, agreed. I think we should formulate a better plan though, we went in without having any idea what we'd be up against. At least we know the little buggers weren't lyin'. He says continuing on with the party.

Ryn thinks of the dead corpse of the nanny in the room, and the animated armor... If we do that, I'll feel more comfortable where there's some decent light, and a defensible position.

I agree with you Ryn, but then what do you want to do after that. Come down and battle that creature?

Ryn took a moment to think about what Baroth had said. "I fear that we did little damage to it the first time around and it almost killed me. It is a creature that if we can stay away from and attack from afar, we may defeat it, but if we close in, then we won't stand a chance. I don't know what is best, but I know that if we do fight it again, I will only engage it from afar. Perhaps if we came back after we finish whatever errand or quest we are needed for, then we would be better prepared to fight it."

I say we just forget the creature. It's not in the habit of leaving that bottom level, by the looks of it. I say we put a sign condemning the house and get on with our day. Or we burn the house down. Either way, we should head out. I vote that we go out the way that we came (up to the attic, then down the main stairwell and out the door).

I'm all for us leavin' right this moment. However, it would be irresponsible of us to ignore the monster. Maybe we should find out what we actually came here for first, and then decide whether we come back and face this gross thing. In either case I'm sure we're being waited on. I have no doubt that the messenger that delivered the message has sent word that we are here. He says side stepping towards the way they came. It would be interesting to see what that thing is though, so much power.
