yup I forgot about that. Then yes he should be able to get to him
Jan 14, 2018 3:30 pm
Rymente stammers back, half to the force of the blow and half to the sudden shooting pain that courses through his shoulder. He follows the arrows path and looks upon the goblin with a furrowed brow. He takes hold of the arrow sticking out of his shoulder and yanks it out, maintaining eye contact with the goblin that was responsible. He holds the arrow up, his blood dripping from the tip, and begins to walk forward, staring at the goblin before snapping the arrow in half. As it snaps, a red beam shoots from his eyes and missiles towards the goblin.
OOC:
Energy Beam: Fire damage.

My rolls have been stellar.

Sariel is more concerned about making sure the goblin doesn't escape to warn hidden allies than keeping it alive to ask questions. She hops off the wagon and runs on an intercept course with the goblin and fires a bolt of anti-light at it.

Rolls

Eldritch blast attack (force damage) - (1d20+5, 1d10)

1d20+5 : (15) + 5 = 20

1d10 : (8) = 8

Jan 14, 2018 8:10 pm
Sauriel rushes to intercept the escaping goblinoid. She outstretches her arm and arcane energy leaves her fingertips and finds its target cleaninly. Knocking the goblin from its feet In midstride. It lies motionless on the ground.
Jan 14, 2018 8:22 pm
"We should clear these horses out of the way as fast as possible.
We don't know if these ones had friends. Anyone care to give a hand?"

Sariel doffs her shield, slinging it over her back, and runs to the horses. She looks them over for traps, because goblins are sadistic little fucked in her experience.

Rolls

Perception to examine horses - (1d20+0)

(8) = 8

Jan 14, 2018 8:26 pm
As you check out the horses and the empty saddlebags you immediately recognize them as the ones that belonged to Gundren Rockseeker and Sildar Hallwinter. The horses appear to have been dead about a day and it is very clear that the arrows are what did the job.
Jan 14, 2018 8:36 pm
Seeing as last goblin was blasted right before his eyes Leylin's face sunk.

"Curses, I almost had him!"

Slowing down as he was no longer in pursuit, Leylin approached goblin's body and started looking for any clues on it. Hearing Sariel's shout he loudly replies:

"Gobs aren't known for splitting their forces for ambushes. Also, didn't Gundren and his bodyguard were right ahead of us on this path?"
OOC:
Do I need to roll to check what goblins have on them? I'm looking at both equipment and anything that doesn't belong to them, like stolen goods and such. After Leylin check the one before him - he will proceed with examinations of other three.
Jan 14, 2018 8:40 pm
OOC:
go ahead and make investigation checks
Jan 14, 2018 8:41 pm
OOC:
I guess it will be 4 checks?

Rolls

Investigation - (1d20+4, 1d20+4, 1d20+4, 1d20+4)

1d20+4 : (8) + 4 = 12

1d20+4 : (20) + 4 = 24

1d20+4 : (12) + 4 = 16

1d20+4 : (16) + 4 = 20

Jan 14, 2018 8:48 pm
Upon investigating the bodies you find nothing but the rusty weapons that they were wielding and the cheap leather armor they had on their backs. They held no clue as to where they came from or where your friends are.
Jan 14, 2018 8:53 pm
To Leylin, she replies: "In my experience, you don't find 4 goblins in the middle of nowhere. Where there's a goblin ambush the rest of the tribe is not far away. And you make a good point about Gundren. All the more reason to clear these horses out and get going."

Sariel goes to attempt to move one of the horses when she realizes she knows this animal.

Oh shit... I think this was Gundren's horse!"

Leylin will gather their arrows and give them to Rymente.

"You use them, right?"

At that moment some may notice that aura of hope and joy around Leylin had disappeared and he looks more solemn.

"I see no bodies of the riders and those four didn't have anything that didn't belong to them. Amaris, you look like a person that can read tracks in a forest, care to look around?"

After that he turns to Sariel:

"I'm sure there's more gobs somewhere and Gundren might've been taken prisoner. I'm not planning on leaving without doing everything in my power to rescue him. Not to mention that he is the one who is supposed to pay for our services. Without him we won't get paid."
OOC:
Is it possible that Leylin recovered his crossbow bolt that missed while he was searching the bodies?
Jan 14, 2018 9:02 pm
OOC:
Yes Leylin would have discovered the lost bolt. Also the arrows you find of the goblins are of very poor quality. You find maybe5 that are worth using.

OOC:
oops, I missed Scasclemski's response about the horses belong to Gundren & Sildar. I updated my previous post to reflect that info.
Jan 14, 2018 10:56 pm
While everyone is looking around, I go to collect my arrows.
OOC:
What would I have to do to collect some goblin teeth?
Jan 14, 2018 11:44 pm
"Glad to hear we're on the same page about rescuing Gundren and his man."

She does Amaris the courtesy of tossing one of the few good goblin arrows out of a horse and gives him a respectful nod.

"Good shooting."

Then she goes about clearing the horses.
OOC:
Do you want me to make an Athletics check? Included just in case.

Rolls

Athletics to drag horse corpse to the side of the road - (1d20+1)

(18) + 1 = 19
