They're reskinned gelatinous cubes, amirite? I recently ran these in a game I played with my students. I really enjoyed playing them, and came to the realization that dashing is their best attack action, if I recall. Made for some fun moments.

J suggested withdrawing. Problem is that raphiel, don-yi and myche are engaged further down the tunnel with Slimes B and C. We should at least kill Slime A to clear the way for the turtles' retreat. I'm also guessing the three turtles have piled on some damage on to B or C since we can't really miss such a low AC, so spread between them those slimes could have already taken 30+ damage; Lio's doing around 2d6+6, or an average of 13 damage a turn, so I assume the others are in that ballpark.

Another possibility is that one or more turtles is engulfed and therefore unable to retreat; we will fight our way to them to find out. Maybe the turtles aren't worth saving on a game tactics level, but my 80s childhood demands it. And, eventually those Cysger agents are going to catch up to us, and having a debt to call in from the masters of sewers gives us an out to a number of bad situations.

In summary: I think the resources are worth following up the rat cultist lead and getting a favour in the bank call in some turtle power down the road. What do others think?

Guys, I locked the thread for a bit because after posting I realized I had misunderstood J's intention for his Channel Divinity. So I've gone back and applied it, and fortunately those 3 points of radiant damage converted a Round 3 kill into a Round 2 kill! That frees you all up this round to decide whether to abandon the turtles to their fate or not.

Thread has been reopened.

P.S. Since Slime A is dead I'm just going to shuffle the initiative order around to PC's > Turtles > Monsters for the sake of smoother flow.

TURTLE POWER!

Much like the DM should be fans of the players' characters, the reverse is true: players should be fans of their DM's game. You don't have to like everything in the game, but when the DM does something solid like sticking the mofo ninja turtles in their a-team inspired D&D game, you send them a high five. TMNT and Other Strangeness was technically the first RPG I played, although we didn't know what it was or what an RPG was, and mostly just made characters and pretended stuff.
I remember getting my hands on that, too! This was the mid 80's: I was already heavy into D&D then and was snobbish towards non-fantasy themed RPG's (idiot 13 year-old) but I sure loved the comics!

Fellas, sorry but I may be out of commission for the day.

No worries, J! I'm not feeling well and so will probably not be posting today either. I think we're still waiting for Ybus' action for Round 4 but maybe CancerMan is waiting for me to resolve the other PC's actions first. Tomorrow, I hope!

CancerMan is traveling from June 4th to June 15th, so he may not be super available for posting :)

Oh that's right! Thanks for the reminder!

In case you didn't know: "The creature can wait until after it rolls the d20 before deciding to use the Bardic Inspiration die." I'd argue, even without seeing the DC prior, rolling a twenty has little cause to use the inspiration.
OOC:
Good to know. I haven't played with bard tech for ages, totally forgot the rules around that. Chalk it up to Baracus learning the ins and outs of this powerful new magic item.
Yeah keep the Holy Inspiration. You might still need it. ;-)

Bonus Action: Shield Shove with HR boost, attempt to Shove slime backwards
HR boost?

EDIT: Ah, you're referring to the homebrewed shield bash option dealing 1d4 damage. Still not sure what HR stands for. Meds must be addling my brain. :-(

Guys, I'm really struggling IRL. Not really in a good place. Wish I could play because it helps keep me sane (if being able to keep it together-ish by constantly escaping to a make-believe world can be called sane) and it really is a huge part if who I am but there doesn't seem to be any space for any of it. For any of me, to be honest. I'm not taking a hiatus from RPG's to get my life in order - I'm just...I don't know what I'm doing apart from babbling. I'm sorry, I know this is a bummer. I'm sorry, guys.

Jabes, do whatever you gotta do to get things together.

If you need a break, take one - we will understand
If you're going to be inconsistent, then do so - no one will fault you.

I know that we don't know you IRL, but we are your friends. If you want to talk, then talk. We're happy to listen!

Yo, Jabes. Sorry for the IRL woes. Stay up, bro. I feel you - it's a wind storm out here sometimes, right buddy?

Of course you know that we all don't worry about the game in the least. Don't take a shred of guilt on that.

Take some time away as you need it if that is best. Or catch up with us on PM or OOC sidebar talk if you need anything or just want to shoot the breeze. I have some rad 80's updates that I'm throwing out there right now on RETRO FORAY.

Two words, fellas:
COBRA.
KAI.

I just finished the 10-episode Season 1 on YouTube Red.
I'm such a Karate Kid fan it isn't even funny, y'all. I can copy every line in that movie I bet, I watched it so many times when I was still on my early career path of becoming a ninja.
The new show was completely masterful and completely awful. Simultaneously.
I loved it, and knew I was being completely ridiculous loving it.

Anyway, Jabes. Just an idea - nothing more: Maybe you should watch Cobra Kai, get pumped up, and kick the shit out of some asshole in your neighborhood who deserves it. Sensei Johnny Lawrence said Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy. So it's like a life lesson, from what I understand.

Stay cool, bro.

Hey Jabes, so sorry to hear things are going so rough for you right now!

Naat and J have said it already: we love your game, but nothing compares to your well-being. Take a guilt-free break, or do whatever you need to do - we are 100% supportive of your decision. Plus, if you want to keep the option to restart later in the future, I'm 100% in. You just send out the signal. If I was 109 years old in a retirement home and if I see Jabes log on and say "It's back on, boys!" I'd jump back into it in a heartbeat.

I definitely have my non-judgemental hailing frequencies open if you ever want to talk about anything!

Ditto what the others have already written.

Okay, this is super embarrassing. That post was the equivalent of a late-night drunk text, so please disregard it. I apologize that I caused concern, though I thank you for it as it's not unfounded. I'm not alright. But I'm trudging on. And this game, one of the few things that still motivate me, is most definitely still on!

EDIT: Today's my birthday. I'm always more depressed than usual around my birthday.
Jun 19, 2018 7:18 pm
Congratulations on the anniversary of your revelation!

Hey Jabes, no need to be embarrassed. Offer still stands if you need somebody to talk to :) And for what its worth, happy birthday man. Wish I could take you out for a beer, but I'll roll some dice with ya instead.
Jun 20, 2018 1:13 pm
Happy birthday, Jabes. Wish it was a less depressing time for you. As Len said, if you wanna talk, we're always open.

Holy crap, I just critted Urban for his full 34 hp (I intend to use the Mouther's average damage instead of rolling)!

EDIT: Using the stat block damage both to make my life easier and also because I think it tends to yield lower damage than a roll does. Am I wrong about that last bit? I rolled just now and got 14. Marginally better. Urban has 3hp left.
