We're just going to pretend Urban was with the group all along, so don't worry about explaining his absence or silence. What absence? Will do the same with Rydler when he's ready to return.

I did briefly consider writing a narrative for how Urban &/or Rydler would suddenly pop up but I decided to just bend reality with my awesome DM powers.

I must confess I have never read Rat God comics. Only chose it for the cool image.

I know. Urban was there the whole time, albeit a little distracted. What's more to talk about? ;)

Jabes. Bro. That Rat God thing was a joke. I couldn't find the "sarcasm" font on the controls, but I would have painted those lines up if I had.
I cracked up when I first saw Rat God on the pic link from your post. Completely awesome picture for this scene - no doubt about it, but out there in the world is a comic book series about a Rat God, with promises of monthly cultic rituals and severed impale heads?! That's pretty hilarious to me.
To be clear: I've never read Rat God comic books. If I had, hopefully you would be a good friend to call me a weirdo and ridicule me without mercy. Ha!

I PMd Hyp, and he seems excited to rejoin us. I am so stoked. We're going to retcon Rydler in just like we did Urban. So the squad has been intact from leaving the city to rowing up the river and fighting the helicoprion, and then entering the rat cult temple and fighting the Rat God.

And just like Urban, he was tossed through the portal. I will post something tomorrow to get us back to regular programming.

Yup, agreed. When you said the word 'mindspace' it totally reminded me of this article by Sly Flourish from 6 years ago: http://slyflourish.com/brain_attic.html. I think it is pretty spot-on. When our personal lives are busy and we have no time to consume media, read books, or watch shows then our DM ideas can dry up.

Great article, Len! To be honest I am finding myself spending more and more time in that attic (which is to say, all the damn time, to the detriment of my actual life) but that attic, like the rest of my mind, is in total disarray. Which is a tragedy because I've always been the kind of guy who likea needs for things to be arranged just so.

It's frustrating.

Maybe I need to KonMari my games list again. To be honest, if I KonMari'd my life, the games would all stay after I jettisoned my job (arigato! sayonara!)

I know what you mean with the desire for orderliness but the struggle to get organized. I've got to buckle down this weekend and straighten out some disarray myself.

On the game ideas, feel free to take us anywhere you want the story to go whenever you decide, bro. As everyone has said already - take your time, no rush, no stress, etc. One cool thing that I love about this scene where you left it last: we just happen to be at a cave full of portals! Want a change of scenery? HA!

The thing is, I've known for a long time what's going to happen here, just can't get organized enough to write it out. I'm just lucky to have you guys and all the patience and support you've been showing me!
