I'm excited to start playing with you all. I've played (and DMd) a few D&D games, so shouldn't need any babysitting :) .
Hopefully I can get my character and all sorted and join you in-game soon.

I've just submitted a Human Ranger - Didn't seem anyone was playing one, might need a few changes as to level and other stuff, but I think it's mostly ready for review from GM

Should I read the backlog of gameplay or just dive in as clueless as my character? 🤔

Swift Action seems to be a 3.5 rule, how does this work with Actions & Bonus Actions? Can I do all 3?

I use the term Swift Action from 3.5, you're right. I'm not sure there is a 5e equivalent. Essentially, Controlling your mount doesn't take any of your Action at all.

Mounted Combat is poorly described in the books, so I'm relying on some clarification tweets by one of the game designers, heh. I don't want the rules to get in the way of it being cool aerial combat, so do what you want and I'll try and interpret your intention in the most beneficial way I can.

The equivalent would probably be free Action
