Neither Blinded nor Incapacitated deliver auto-failed saves. But T5 fails his save anyway. Rydler's Sacred Flame hits.

T8 & T9 do not back off. Erden's Firebolt hits. Portent roll used.

T3 takes Help action, granting Thug Leader advantage vs. Baracus.

Urban has option of using Protection fighting style to cancel out the advantage, making the urumi attack miss.

Seeing the Pradeshi whirling the sling-sword towards Barracus, Urban steps forward and throws up his shield, attempting to deflect the blow.

Reaction: Protection to attempt counter to strikes against Barracus

The axemen, seeing they are almost through the barn's rear wall, ignore Erden's warning, and the gnome makes them pay for it: aided by his supernatural insight into the future, the diviner predicts the axemen's every move and unleashes a bolt of fire at the larger of the two thugs at the exact moment he breaks through the wall. The man thuds lifeless to the gound with a smoking hole in his chest. Horrified, the other thug turns and runs. Erden can take an OA here if he wishes.

Out in the front yard, the two slingers are fighting just to stay conscious. Rydler's spell sears the one who is still standing, causing him to stumble slightly as he rushes to help his friend up.

The thugs' leader and his second-in-command seem unfazed by the half-orc and the two humans in front of them. With well-practiced timing, the shortswordsman lunges at Baracus to unbalance him while the leader whips nearly six feet of razor sharp steel at the half-orc's neck. The tactic would have worked too were it not for Urban, who raises his shield just in time to deflect the blow.

The marksman, seeing the shield go up, lets fly his arrow at Urban's ribs but the well-placed shot is thwarted by the paladin's chainmail.

The warehouse's front wall is fully engulfed in flames now. And within, crates of Aditya's precious dried chili peppers have begun to burn. The horse is in full panic panic and tries to buck the wagon. The thugs are clearly outmatched but for Aditya to survive you need to end this now!

What do you do?

"So how do you kick this thing into gear?" Ybus says, climbing into the driver's seat of the wagon. He hefts his spear, noting the sharp point and the horse's rear end and mentally doing some addition. Reaching a conclusion, Ybus grins.

Moments later, a single dried chili is dangled in front of the horse's head, with a spectral disembodied Mage Hand delicately clasping the stem aloft. "Come on, go eat the nice shriveled carrot!" Ybus urges, ready for the wagon to be carried out through the back door.

Through the rage, Baracus see Urban approaching from the side, feels Rydler's hand on his shoulder, hears Rydler's voice.

Give 'em hell, brother.

"THAT I SHALL."

He spends no energy preparing for the incoming steel whips, knowing Urban has his back. As Urban takes the impact with his well-worn shield, Baracus crouches and leaps into the air, sailing over Urban's defenses and straight past the urumis. In mid air, he unlatches his greataxe from his back and pulls it out in one smooth motion.

Give 'em hell, brother.

There is pride in those words, for Baracus. His true brothers were long dead, but these men were as close as blood to him They had been through hell and back together. He trusted nobody more than these men.

Well, except for that crazy fucker Ybus. But when push came to shove, he was his brother too.

With a smile on his face, Baracus slams his greataxe down.

Erden, missing with his half-hearted sweep of his staff, turns and leaps atop the wagon with Ybus, "Onward, brother!" he shouts, cackling dramatically and waving his hand in the direction of their foes outside. A trio of screeching, luminescent owls rush from his fingers and slam into the man using the shortbow.

Urban sees the gravity of the situation. After blocking one last shot, he turns and charges to the wagon. He leaps onto the cart and climbs into the driver seat, crowding in on Ybus. "Quit fooling around," he says, seeing that Ybus has a rod hanging a pepper suspended by a spectral hand in front of the horse. He takes the reigns and pushes the pole contraption aside at the same time, with an annoyed look.

"I thought you were going to get the door," he says to Ybus, calmly but chastising. "Can you get the door? This poor horse shouldn't have to knock it down himself. Come on, Ybus. This is the sort of thing I've been trying to talk to you about."

Urban knows that the halfling can blow the door, so he takes the reigns, ready to snap them. He turns around and yells over his shoulder, "WE ARE LEAVING! NOOOWWWW!!!"
OOC:
DM Jabes, Urban wants to time this right, but is poised to charge that back barn door the moment when everybody gets on the cart. Animal Handling? Vehicles - Land Based? Ya, Urban has that, because he's the getaway driver.
If the door can get blown open, great. But if not, will do what has to be done and charge it!

Cato Urban falling back to the cart will provoke OA's from Urumi and Shortsword. No rolls necessary for driving through that rear door (axemen already hacked through the bar) but if Erden or Ybus want to blast it open with spells be my guest. Either way it's badass. Will have to be next round though as it's now the baddies' turn.

I was kind of picturing it as Disengage - should have wrote it out in Action blue. Would that work?
Overall, felt like we needed to have someone get in there and crank up the badass van right away so that everyone else can jump on as we bust out, leaving thug fools behind frustrated. May endure OAs if Disengage is not feasible, but will take DM advice about the spacing, layout, what's possible, etc. if there is a way to do both 1) man the vehicle in time 2) protect self from cheap shots.

Ybus manages to keep the horse from bolting. Perhaps it's the dangled treat, or perhaps the animal is taken aback by the halfling himself, who is crazier than anything the horse has ever seen. Urban falls back to the wagon and takes the reins, preparing to bug out as soon as everyone is on board.

Missing his swing on the fleeing axeman, Erden joins the others on the wagon. Singling out the lone archer in the front yard, he sends arcane owls tearing into the man, who falters but recovers, taking a bead on the melee out front.

Rydler's riddle gives the thug leader pause, and Baracus brings his greataxe down, leaving the man's shield arm dangling uselessly, attached only by a ribbon of flesh. "Aaagh! Fuck you! FUCK YOU!!!" The maimed thug screams, and slashes at the half-orc in retaliation, but with one arm missing his balance is off and his steel whips swish over Baracus' head.

The shortswordsman lunges at Rydler, but inexplicably his sword arm seems to have a mind of its own and diverts the thrust towards Baracus instead. The strike ends up ill-timed and comes up short of the raging monk's ribs.

The two retching slingers have obviously given up and are stumbling away in an effort to flee.

The marksman takes aim at Rydler but the same inexplicable force makes him flinch at the last moment. The wayward arrow hits Baracus in the thigh, drawing blood. 7 damage before DR.

The conflagration is in full force now, threatening to bring the warehouse down. The yard is starting to fill with choking smoke.

Ybus cackles, mentally willing the chili pepper to bob up and down. "I always listen to anything you say, Urban," he admits. "It just ain't worth remembering!"

There is a brief pause. "Well, except for that one time you admitted to pooping your pants in the middle of a dance; that was memorable. It's so odd that I can remember it whenever we're in the company of strangers. Speaking of... Adi! Knock knock!"

Ybus waits for a response. Seeing the chili farmer's expression of shock and panic, the halfling reaches over and jiggles Aditya's lower lip while muttering in a falsetto, "Who's there?"

"Powder!"

"Powder who?"

"Powder Eldritch Blast at the door!" Ybus screams and levels his belaying pin at the remnants of burning door, firing an arcane bolt of repelling force.

"Perfect! That's perfect," Urban says to Ybus, satisfied with the door blast.

"But wait, wait.... It was not in the middle of the dance. That was after the dance, I was outside the building. Plus that really wasn't my fault because..."

Urban sees a burning rafter fall.

"Let's go!" Urban yells.

Ensure everyone is on the cart first, then snap the reigns.

Not wanting to deal with any more arrows following them, Erden turns and launches a bolt of fire at the shortbow-wielding enemy.

As Ybus rambles, Erden begins laughing hysterically, turning to Urban, "You may as well just give up. You're never going to live that down!"

As the burning rafter falls, Erden begins laughing harder and wiping a tear from his cheek, "Ah, this reminds me of that time in Rufard, when -" his story is cut short as some embers fall from the ceiling and his hat catches on fire. Frantically, he tears it off and throws it into the barn, then curses, "Agh! Dammit! That was my favorite hat!" he shouts, "Urban, I demand you turn this cart around this instant!"
