"Let's say we take 'me," says Ybus. "I mean, take 'em. So let's say it. All together now..." He lifts his hands like a conductor, expectantly.

Erden considers for a few moments and then nods, "I think we could use your guidance," he says, turning to his friends, "Unless any of you are opposed?"
OOC:
I LOVE the Ninja Turtles 😁

"Lead the way," Urban says with a shrug and a nod to the turtle men. "If we work together we can probably catch these rats."
May 29, 2018 6:05 am
Baracus signals to the others he is ready to move forward with a nod, aforementioned scowl still fixed to his jaw. But, it is mostly for show now. He expected to disdain walking through a decadent city's filth, but he finds his surroundings refreshingly honest.

"Great, let's go!" Lio says. You set off, the four turtle monks brandishing their weapons with relish. At first they seem to be the expert guides they claim to be, helping you navigate the unfamiliar and treacherous surroundings. More and more frequently though, they begin arguing amongst themselves about which is the right way when encountering a fork or crossroads. Despite their bickering they do agree on their intended destination: a rat-cult lair they discovered last night. It's abandoned but they think you might find clues.
OOC:
Set marching order if you please (including the turtles - place them wherever you like).

Volunteering:

Seems like at least one of the turtles should lead, since they know the way and might give early warning.

Urban can be in line right behind him/them with the uncanny Captain's Shield(!), that might be able to block some missile fire, dragon breath, flung rat turds, etc. Plus he's got a free hand for mood lighting by way of torchlight management.

OOC:
There's enough space for three abreast if you like. Arrange however you see fit. I'm not going to be super strict with this; even if combat happens to break out it'll be theater of the mind. I just would like a general sense of who's where doing what, wading through water or on either stone walkway. So far we've got Urban and Lio on point. Rafiel is going to ignore any orders from you or Lio, preferring to range ahead or behind, changing position as he deems fit.

OOC:
Erden will ride atop Baracus' shoulder, as is his common position. He will have his cigar in his mouth and strongly debates lighting it for the first time
May 29, 2018 5:53 pm
Ybus follows Baracus and Erden, the glow from the Light spell on the back of his head like an angelic beacon. He purposefully steps from side to side, angling his position behind the half-orc to cause the massive shadow to flit this way and that.

Just as you're starting to seriously doubt the turtles even know what they're doing, they point to an opening set in the stonework to your left. "Through there," Lio whispers. "We took a peek but didn't touch anything. And it seems to go further than just the one room we saw."

You duck through, descend a few slick stone steps, and find yourselves in a small, squarish room. The green effluent drains out of a pipe poking out of the north wall above your heads and splashes into a channel cut across the floor. The gutter disappears into a small grate in the east wall, and to the west, a darkened stone archway. Your light sources reveal symbols scratched into the floor and walls here much like back at the house. Against the south wall is a wooden plinth cluttered with unlit, half-melted candles and the bones of some unidentified animal, as well as what at first appears to be a pile of leaves but turns out to be a twisted mass of desiccated rat carcasses.
OOC:
Perception rolls, please. And any action you wish to take.

"I thought we were looking for rat cultists, not rat corpses," Ybus comments idly. "Still, waste not want not!"

He moves to gather up the bodies to place in his bag.

"Go take a look around for me, my friend," Erden says, sending Timear to go a short distance through the archway to the west. His eyes roll back in his head as he melds mentally with his familiar.

"Bah, this one's no good," Ybus mutters, and tosses one of the rat carcasses into the sewer water.
May 30, 2018 7:55 pm
The carcass hardly makes a sound when it hits the water. The effluent carries it west through the archway. Nothing else happens.

Still melded with Timear, Erden hums an upbeat and catchy tune and lights his cigar, taking a deep pull on it, "Good cigar!" he mumbles to himself.

Unfamiliar with Erden and Timear's routine, Lio sidles up to the gnome. "Well, what d'you think?"

Erden doesn't appear to hear Lio, humming his tune and puffing on his fat cigar, which doesn't seem to be getting any smaller.

As Erden remains unresponsive to Lio, Rafiel loses his patience and slips into the water, clearly intending to make his way west beyond the archway.
