Sorry for putting this up so late after accepting you guys! This thread is going to be up a few days before anything else is put up. Ideally I want this to be a discussion towards creating characters. Hopefully you can use this time to get the books open that you need and to get your minds on creating a character that fits well in this game.

The Timeline I wanna go by is this

Creation Discussion: what this thread is for

Character Positing: Sometime towards the weekend or start of next week where the characters are posted in their entirety. Ill post pictures of completed character sheets from a fan made software for your reference too once they are done if I have the time.

Criminal Syndicate Ideas: This is where we will discuss ideas for your criminal syndicate. Im still working things out with this but ideally you guys will discuss a name and sigil/colors for your syndicate, a business they deal in (only 1 to start off with!), and a resource system and perk system that you guys will choose from to give your syndicate a unique feel and some resources to tap from for personal use.

Criminal Syndicate Finalizing/Game Finalizing: This is where everything will be set in stone ad finished of to start the game

Game Start: The game is ready to play!

Hopefully this wont take forever! Im hoping we can have this game going in full steam within a short period of time but want to make sure were all on the same page as we set things up.

So onwards to character discussion! Please remember these two very important facts as you discuss characters:

-Youre leading a criminal syndicate: Generally speaking robin hood esque is about as good of a character that will be allowed and even then it may end up clashing with other PC's. That being said, your character does not have to be full on evil too. Some people are just in it for their own personal gain. This leads us to fact 2

- The PC's all know each other previously. This is important. This doesnt mean you all need to come from the same line of work. Generally by this I want to emphasize that the game should start out on little to no player animosity. Where things go from there is where they go but initially there should not be many issues from that department.

With that being said, please use this to help get to know each other and discuss some ideas for what you want to play! New players introduce yourselves! Experienced players, please lend a hand and help these new guys learn the ropes throughout this and during the game, as I will be doing the same.

Hello everyone! I'm excited to go for a change of pace from my usual AoR campaigns. As far as my character goes, I've had it in mind to play a Skip Tracer ever since No Disintegrations came out. Possibly a Clone Wars vet, probably did a lot of odd jobs around Socorro tracking down debtors or stolen goods prior to our syndicate forming.

Hello all, I have been looking for a EOTE game to pick up and am looking forward to it. I was thinking of playing a Colonist/Performer Elomin, need to get the details sorted out.

Edit: On second thought I think I'll probably go more towards Marauder Selonian, the concept seems to good to pass.

Quick note! Ive seen some people apply their characters so far. I wont be accepting characters until this weekend. Please take the time and post in here about your character idea if you have applied with one and see how they would know the other PC's. You may know some more than others thats fine but get an idea for how you got to know these other people

I had previously developed a Mon Calamari Smuggler on another site and would like to adapt it for use here. His people always seem to get enslaved by the Empire wherever they appear in the galaxy. Pretty soon it will be on their home world. Dagit holds out little hope for the rebel alliance. As far as he's concerned they can both wipe each other out and let the independent worlds decide their own fates. He wants to put himself and his associates in a prime position to benefit from that likelihood.

I have a few different character ideas in mind, do you guys think a doctor or a mechanic would fit well with the group so far?
Mar 14, 2018 3:22 am
A mechanic sounds more fitting to the scenario but I think just about anything would fit if the character had some medical skills. Perhaps someone who had served in a military unit as a field medic in addition to being an artillery or munitions expert. Or a surgeon who was practicing something like doctors without borders serving in a fringe world which came under attack by the empire or some rogue pirates or something like that. He would have been stranded there and would have had to develop his survival skills. Your imagination can run wild.
Mar 14, 2018 3:41 am
Could also be someone that deals in stolen medical products and also knows how to use them. The scope for many careers can be covered under a criminal like background

Both of your ideas can be very handy in a big party, go for what you want. My character will be more of a bodyguard type for when a deal happens to make sure everything goes smooth, plus when they might go south. Working out the details for backstory, currently have: self imposed exile after failing to save her den during a trip to Nar Shaddaa, fled the corellian system and ultimately finds themselves in Sorocco doing various bodyguard work. See's most of galactic culture as alien compared to her own, enjoys the rush of battle and various Holo-Series immensely.

For character creation are we going by the standard 500 starting credits? And can we take on the extra obligation for xp or money?

Elistar has always been a drifter and a bit of a loner, but his desire to grow beyond his meager origins drives him into the fringes of society, looking for his fortune. He comes from a long line of Kel Dorian explorers and adventurers and has spent his years explorering the fringes of society and the wilds. While he is force sensitive he was fortunate to have been born in the outer rim and not identified by the Jedi Order before it fell. He attempts to hide as best he can while making his way in the galaxy.

So I only have an F & D book which is why I created a force sensitive character. But he is definitely not a glow stick waving Jedi. He seems to keep descending more into the criminal element due to trying to pay off his brother's gambling debts. Kel dors are supposed to be very family-oriented which is what drove him to seek riches in the seedier side of society. I'd love for Elistar to have made a bit of a partner out of one of the other founders from his experience in the Wilds helping to smuggle Goods into the planet.

It was in his early adulthood when Dagit learned some hard lessons about intragalactic politics. The Empire and the Rebel Alliance were in a wide ranging struggle. Dagit understood that the rebels had issues in the way that the empire treated subject races, almost as slaves. He also had issues with the way the alliance used any method they could to get back at the Empire. He wanted to find a way to make his way in life without having to deal with either side. Since he had no compunction about sticking it to either side so theft and smuggling were easy for him to accept. He used his skills to earn and save enough money to buy a small, used light freighter and started trading throughout the region.

With every successful trading mission Dagit was able to make purchases to upgrade his ship. One of those missions brought him to Soccoro. You will have to excuse me if I don't fully understand the history of the Star Wars universe. I just never really kept track of it, just enjoyed the movies. And what I've written above isn't necessarily the truth but it's just the way he sees it. If his ship is a problem that's easy to explain away. It could have been destroyed on a mission or he could have lost it to pirates or as a gambling debt. I do have it fully developed but what I had already worked up was for a level 8 character so we can start smaller if it becomes something that everyone (especially our GM) thinks is essential to our group.

But back to Dagit's story. He continued his business out of Socorro and kept upgrading his ship to make even easier to escape Imperial ships. After several months though the environment on Socorro got to be terribly dense in terms of smuggling. It was becoming too difficult to make a living as an individual. He realized that it might be better for him to enter into an arrangement with some other people he had met in the business. He put out feelers and found that there definitely was interest.

Spending her life protecting the Queen, that was her purpose. Moyk Dowente was good at it too, learning to fight and defend the den was something she did all throughout her childhood. Finally she became a fully fledged adult, constructing her glaive as a rite of passage and swearing her life to her duty.

Not long after reaching adulthood, the Queen wished to visit Nar Shaddaa to improve interplanetary trade relations between her den and any interested parties. Moyk was assigned as one of the personal bodyguards, an opportunity equally exciting and terrifying. The visit soon became a tragedy, an ambush was all that waited for them. Moyk lost her glaive, her family, and her Queen.

Knowing she could not face the rest of her den after such a failure, she decided to become an exile. Escaping to the outer rim Moyk spent her days in a strange galaxy far from home, taking on various protection jobs for all manner of employers. Most are wary of her almost black and white morality regarding deceit, but Moyk will perform work for almost anyone granted they are not actively hiding something. When a job goes south, she doesn't even mind; the rush of adrenaline during a firefight fills her with purpose.
Eventually she found herself on Sorocco, hearing rumors of excellent business opportunities for someone like her.

Despite her best efforts to move on Moyk craves having a family of any kind, desperately not wanting to be a lonesome drifter.

@Hyando I would like to team our characters up, I think they have some common ground of being outsiders and wanting companionship any way it comes The backstory would be pretty easy if your character is a smuggler type.

@Somebox I prefer unscrupulous shipping magnate ;)

Sounds great though.

After few runs in the wild, Elistar knew his days would definitely be numbered if he didn't have an extra set of eyes watching his back. Any credits he made wouldn't do his brother any good if he was too dead to bring it to him.

On his next stop in port he inquired for the right kind of additonal being. After a few drinks and an agreed upon time to set out, Hyando and Moyk have been running less than reputable cargo together ever since.

Xizen Rall fought for the CIS, a choice that had more to do with the limited options available to a poor Faleen than any political inclinations. Defeat in the Clone Wars rather limited the upward mobility of that choice, but he wasn't keen on casting his lot in the Black Sun either. Instead, he found his way to Socorro, where he carved out a place for himself as an independent operator: He didn't care who you were or what your business was, but if something (or someone) of yours was lost or stolen, he would track it down for a price.

It's been a decent gig, but he's stepped on a few toes sticking his nose in where it doesn't belong, and now operating on his own is getting a bit too dicey for comfort. He's decided to look up a few old contacts and see if they want to get organized...

Sorry I’m so late to the party. I would love to be the muscle for this syndicate. I love the Enforcer spec. Let me know if that’s something you guys feel comfortable with.
Mar 15, 2018 7:05 pm
Enforcers are great. We have a melee specialist in Moyk, but I don't think we have anyone geared towards Coercion yet, and an Enforcer could make a great "bad cop" to Xizen's "good cop."
Mar 15, 2018 7:53 pm
Yeah, Elistar is a pilot / outdoors guy. Can't really take a beating. Another beefy guy couldn't really go amiss ;)
Mar 15, 2018 8:02 pm
For sure. I love the idea of being the muscle to Xizen’s face. It’s so fun for me. I’ve had it happen once before in a game and the interplay between the endorcer skills and other socials are fun. Loom may be my favorite talent. Lol
Mar 15, 2018 8:10 pm
That sounds good to me, I will focus on discipline instead of coerce for my social skill in that case. Works thematically for Moyk.
