As you approach, your hearing confirms that the sounds were indeed muffled cries. As you come to the location, getting a view into the spot amongst the tall grass, you see a tightly wrapped baby—bonded immobile—with it's mouth wrapped stifling it's cries.

She puts her crossbow down, but keeps her shield on her arm. She scoops up the baby, to take it to the others.

Oh my! What in the - who would - I mean, I know the Goblins have a tradition - that is - umm - what do we do with it? Kithri says, feeling a surge of interest and fear for the small child.

Still offering the injured meese to Bragg, Wendealynn looks over to see if the race of the infant can be identified.

Barixius stays in the woods keeping a watch to make sure no one is attempting to get the drop on the group as they tend to the baby and the meese.

The baby looks to be of human descent; it doesn't have pointed ears, is too big to be halfling, and not bulky enough to be a dwarf.
OOC:
Perception Bari.

Moving out of the grass and away from the trees, Sirraah shows the baby to Wendealynn, Leaf and Kithri. She keeps her shield on her arm to shelter the squirming bundle. If I understand correctly, thiss one is too new from the egg to be out on itss own. I was not aware there were inhabitants on the island. Iss there a village nearby?
Sirraah examines the wrappings around the baby, looking to see if they were made with care or malice. Is the baby in pain or just afraid. We should leave its mouth covered for the quiet, unless someone can feed it.

"Ovlet said only meese were on this island. If there's a village it'll be news to him," says Wendealynn.

She continues, "Another thing to be thinkin' about; them meese were being eaten by that gremlin, but that ain't what was reported by the Cap'n nor Ovlet. They both said they seen meese like empty shells, drained of life. Maybe that gremlin was just pickin' up the leftovers."

OOC:
how far around the perimeter of the island did we go before finding the meese and the baby?

Bragg looks at the little meese I don't have anywhere to put it, and now another little thing to worry about, are we on babysitter duty or what?
Apr 30, 2018 4:50 am
@Bari, there doesn't seem to be anything else in the vicinity.

@Sirraah, it isn't hard to tell the wraps were not a byproduct of care, they were more to hinder the baby's movement and silence it. It seemed distraught, as as you've been holding it, it has calmed a considerable ammount.
OOC:
About halfway around, during which you've seen no signs of a village or inhabitants that could produce a human child.

"Switch," Wendealynn says to Sirraah, indicating that the dragonborn should take the meese.

Sirraah hands the baby to Wendalynn. Free the hatchlings arms and legs, it needs to breath and be able to defend itself. She holds out her large clawed hand for the meese. Perhapss it will prove useful as bait for whatever we are hunting.

Bragg looks around and heads up
OOC:
if there's a better vantage point up higher I want to look over as much as I can of the island

Wendealynn does not free the bindings, opting to settle the infant once again in the crook of her arm. When the child seems calm, Wendealynn removes her mailed glove, loosens the wrapping around the mouth, and inspects the inside gums.

What do you seek Wendealynn? As I understand it, human children are brought into the world without teeth or claws. Sirraah still holds the meese in her hand away from her body, unsure of what to do with the creature.

HypCo sent a note to XOSkel10
OOC:
Aside from climbing a tree, there isn't much in terms of high points. If you wish to climb, shoot me an Athletics check.
Opening the mouth you spot a single white cap beginning to break through the gums. Other than that, they look slightly irritated. As you inspect it, it begins to suck on your finger.

Wendealynn sighs. "Back to the boat." She turns and walks for the Blood Rose, regardless of whether or not the others follow.
