Spark looks over the scrolls and recognizes them. One is a Scroll of Charm Person while the other is a Scroll of Fireball

those of you that spoke with Sildar Hallwinter know that one of the reasons he came to Phandalin was to find out the fate of his friend and fellow Lord's Alliance member Iarno Albreck...Mynok would be familiar with the name as well. He was sent to Phandalin to help with civilizing the area but never reported back to Neverwinter.

Seems he didn't have success because he was in league with them. The letter is addressed to him, and seems like instructions were to capture or kill us. He pauses eyeing Mynok up and down Sure you didn't piss someone off to get sent here?

A rat scurries across the floor and takes refuge under a large worktable set up with alembics, retorts, distillation coils, and other alchemical devices, all of it stewing and bubbling away. Bookshelves are crowded with sheaves of parchment and strange-looking tomes.
Based on your proficiency in Arcana you can see that the apparatus appears to be set up to brew potions of invisibility.

This is exactly what Gu'lorg has been looking for!!!
He immediately heads to the table looking for books, and he investigates the bookshelf to find spell books and lore books and such.
He also looks for any completed potions, or anything that will explain how to create my own potions of invisibility.

Gu'lorg - You find no signs of any completed potions. You find three small bottles that hold rare reagents: mercury, dragon bile, and powdered nightshade. Most of the books and notes contain only basic information on alchemy. Among the books is a tome written in a language you are not familiar with.
