Looking For Group

Wulfram (LvL 1 Fighter - LVL 4 Warlock) is ready for a low level encounter - we can start at any level 4-5 would be cool. Starting at lvl 1 may be slow going but it may be beneficial for some of us learning the Play by Post rules.

So decided to go with a wood elf rogue scout for the high level game. Formerly a soldier in the king's army, spent his years scouting and things of that nature. Strong abilities in nature/survival, quick to get into combat to try finishing things before they escalate.

I was thinking about making an old wild magic sorcerer lady, a slightly (read super) nutty forest gnome who loves herbology. Definitely full of old wise words that don't really make sense at all (or do they...) and always worried that you don't eat enough green things.
And Drama's character could definitely be her friend, talking for hours about plants:-)!

Currently the lower level group is going to start at level 5.

@CorbinCash: currently I have plans to run your fighter/loc through an arena style game with Coachthor.

The level 5 game is a completely different beast.


Would you like to play in the level 5 game too?

With the 5k/20k. How are we pricing items? The DMG lists price ranges of like 500-5k and 5k-20k for the rarity but the items themselves don't have a cost.

Or would it be easier for magic items to use the starting at a higher level entry from the DMG (as part of tiers of play)?

I am hoping for plate mail, an animated shield, a ring of protection

If any money is left I would like rations for a while (month) a grappling hook and rope

If any money would be left I would be looking for a ring of spell holding.

What would the price of that wish list look like?

I'm also curious about the pricing of items in the dmg. There's some pretty ridiculous stuff in there!

And I'm super excited to see a Wild Magic sorcerer in play at higher levels!

Ok, so I'm finishing up my lvl 5 monk, my shopping list would be the following. I figured 4 uncommon at around 1,500 gp, the bracers at 3,000 gp and the rest around 400gp. Let me know if I need to edit my list.
- Bag of Holding (Uncommon)
- Cloak of Protection (Uncommon)
- Insignia of Claws (Uncommon, Horde of the Dragon Queen)
- Ring of Jumping (Uncommon)
- Bracers of Defense (Rare)
- Barrel of Ale (
- A couple Gallons of Homemade Whiskey,
- 5 healing potions (250gp)
- Some mundane items (around 50gp worth)

I'd like to try the Arena to start just to understand his attacks and abilities. I've never played a monk before, but I'd enjoy doing a longer game.

To simplify things I'm just going to standardise the prices as:

Common magic Items: 75 gold each
Uncommon magic items: 300 gold each
Rare: 2,250 gold each
Very Rare: 20,000 gold each

I'll make sure to give each party a few healing potions to boot so don't worry too much about stocking up on them. This isn't Diablo.

@CorbanCash: please make your character using the Gamer's Plane built in character sheet and submit it to the game. Then I'll start your arena run.
Also by both games do you mean the arena game and the level 5 game or the level 5 game and the level 15 game?

Shouldn't we have a little bit more money for the level 15 adventure? As it stands you can have a ton of rare and uncommon magic items or one very rare and nothing else. I think we should have at least one very rare item each, given that they're meant to be for 11th level and higher, without havig to get rid of all your other gear.

I'm open to suggestions. I worked it out as actually a little more than normal using the DMG guidelines.

That should let you buy 1 very rare, 1 rare and 2 uncommon items. However, if you want to have plate armour then you'll need to sacrifice your rare item.
Sound fair? Too much?

Also, don't forget that you can only use 3 attunement magic items total!

OK, I've made up my character in the Fight Club 5e app, I just need to stick everything into the GP sheet. I'll be playing a young and inexperienced, but very powerful druid who has some trouble controlling her magic.

I believe the Insignia of Claws is a rare item not uncommon.
