@Arina, by what time tomorrow do I need to have my character sheet turned in?
Apr 9, 2018 6:35 am
Just as soon as you can :)

After a tumultuous weekend and me being slow I'm almost done with Oma Salie! Working on her backstory as we speak and hopefully she'll be completely done this afternoon (because it's 8:45 in the morning;-p)!

And I can report that my Warlock is also done...or just in need of a backstory which is in my head, posting in the morning. Also, i kind of need to spend some money on the incedentals but all magic items are bought.

Fantastic. Thanks everyone. I'll get us underway tomorrow.

I'm creating a Half-Elf Mastermind rogue, CG, who has spent her career working as a spy. Anyone interested in having past connections with her?

I could. I was reading some the backstory for Tinwe and think there is some potential there. Her story closes with trouble in a southern frontier city. The three of us could get involved with each other there. I'm playing a half-elf noble who could come from the region. I am playing a Warlock with a Great Old One patron. At the moment she is building up a cult dedicated to knowledge and uncovering mysteries.

In Tinwë's backstory I included some tension between humans and elves... we don't have to include or get into that if we don't want to. But if that tension is there I bet a half-elf spy could do pretty well for himself playing one side against the other.

The trouble in the southern frontier city is just following along with the hook that Arina put out for the lvl 15 party, so tying into that should help bring the group together. The big issue for each character is: Are we investigating there on the king's command? Or are do we make our way there for some other reason and happen to join the group? I think earlier in the thread we had said since we're high level that we probably all know each other or at least have heard of each other.

Fah'lin is a minor nobility. I feel like that qualifies as a way to know of each other. We could be of age and been childhood acquaintances. I know your character was sickly...while I don't think Fah'lin would have been a bully, sometimes kids don't understand all the issues. We could have been friends or antagonistic toward each other.

Fah'lin would work for the king to protect her home...so i can bite that hook.

I've been so busy with work, I put together a character on D&D beyond and I am just transferring her over, I have submitted the character and if you have questions please ask, as I have not finished updating it all, but you can see the jest of if.

She's a Ghostwise Halfling Life Cleric (10) Hunter Ranger (5)

Oh...and good news on the Raise Dead spell component front. I found a couple rare items that I wanted more than a very rare magic item so I have a couple thousand gp that I am happy to turn into expensive spell components.

@Aruklusta I think 5e makes it canon that half-elves often find themselves caught between two worlds and not fully accepted by either, so while there may not be tension between humans and elves in general, it's quite feasible that the interbeeding between the two could spark violent reactions. And bigotry can certainly be stronger or weaker based on geographical location. So I think we can all make your backstory mesh with the rest. :)

And half-elves breed true...they don't have to be a product of an elf and human. So half-elf families could stand as a reminder of times before animosity was the way of things. A reminder of better times and sign of what things could be in the future.

Regarding backstories, you are a well known adventuring group and as you are quite powerful you would definitely have heard of each other.

ae_dd and I have been fast friends for the better part of the past two hundred years or so, and have spent the last century travelling and adventuring together. I'm sure the pair would have fallen in with most of you at some point whenever nature knowledge and such was needed. :)

Good points all around!

The nobles (Pyrrha, Tinwë, and Fah'lin) probably knew each other pretty well growing up (personally I'd go with friends), and they each have developed an interesting insight into magic. It seems like the three of them would likely be ready to team up. And maybe Pyrrha knows Aetoris and Oma, so that would be a good link. Beyond that, Tinwë probably has heard stories of Aetoris' exploits in the elf military.
