Something Strange is Happening in the South...

@The scouting party: You only travel for about ten minutes before you see Ryestro's raven begin to flicker and then vanish. As you pull up, you see two un-natual forms of movement in the forest below you. The first movement is about 500 feet inside of where you approximate the anti-magic field begins and looks small. You hear the sound and see bushes moving as if a humanoid were running hell bent towards Fort Naleth. The second movement is about 300 feet behind the first. It is much larger and moving much faster.

What do you do?

@Oma and Pyrrha: You say you found this in the head of a bulette? How could it have survived that kind of trauma? Father Hammond speaks first. Never mind that! interupts the steward. This explains how we lost contact with Southwatch. It is clearly some kind of new technology or weapon and we need to study it. I would like to send the crystal back to our magicians at the library in Lyn's Ascendance. May I?

Commander Justin, I commend you on the excellent order and strength of the fort. But I must ask why you've taken made no attempt to fortify the camp outside? I understand that building a wall or other defensive structure takes materials that you may not have to spare, but surely a trench could have at least been started by now?

Turning to Aetoris, Rolana/Sola says, Perhaps it's not too late to get something in place. Perhaps our Champion could put his talents to better use than pounding the fort's timbers?

With a smile at Kuz, she adds, Nalkren ayh lat aav diggaumn avrencheuk?

Oma pulls the crystal close to her chest, yanking it from someone's hands if she needs to. You most certainly may not! This is the only advantage we have so far; one of us having the same level of protection as our enemy uses. Giving that away would be foolish! The crystal is of no use to us all the way in Lyn's Ascendence, though you are free to take it there once we're done with it. She looks at father Hammond, speaking in a much calmer manner. I believe it was put in there and then the wound was closed over it. The scar didn't look the same as the other marks it had on its body, that's why Sola decided to investigate the scar in the first place. I am afraid there might be more creatures out there mutilated in a similar matter, we have to end this as quickly as possible. If you want to you can have some time to study the crystal here, but I would like to connect with it again today to test some things myself, for instance what the effects of the crystal, and my connection with it, are when I enter the range of another crystal. If the lost connection is indeed caused by a similar crystal, though probably much larger and more powerful than this one, I want to get close enough to find this out.
Oma's eyes move to a young cleric, standing a bit to the side, looking like he's about to have an aneurysm from staring so intently at Oma's forehead. Young man, if you must know I was just now thinking about hitting you with my walking cane, so you can stop trying to find out.
She turns her eyes back to father Hammond and steward Razghul. There is another matter which I like to discuss with you. One of our companions chose a different way to travel here and is still days away. We need to get him here as fast as possible so we need someone with the ability to travel back here fast to go out and pick him up. He sent his raven with us, so we have a way to contact him and find out where he is. Is there someone among you who could do this job for us?
OOC:
I used the same colour as you Arina, perhaps if we all do this we can keep things straight?
Also, I'm well aware the raven is no longer with us, but Oma isn't. And perhaps the Aety, Sola/Rolana, Kuz group could walk by while investigating the fort so they can give an update to Oma and miauw Pyrrha?

No longer receiving communication from Codor, Ryestro attempts to bring him back.
OOC:
Seeing if the spell was completely dispelled or, since Ryestro isn't in the anti-magic radius, if the spell is still active.

OOC:
@Ryestro The spell works without a problem. If you fly, you will join the others in a days time.

Smiling, Kuz answers Rolana, "Give alnej an overukizun ukhovel agh avell alnej nalkren wide agh tholl lat wanav iav !"

Returning Kuz's smile, Rolana/Sola says, Commander, if you have any shovels suitable for my friend's proportions, I think we can get started building a trench around the camp.

Steward Rhazghul nods. If you let me know the name of this friend of yours I can have someone send him a message and arrange for his swift transport here. However, regarding the crystal, I strongly recommend that you give it to the masters at Lyn's Ascendence. We have no idea what the device does, we don't even know if its anti-magic properties are the extent of its powers. Respectfully, its dangerous.

Commander Justin lowers his head and looks at the ground. The camp is under the command of one Lord Byron. He outranks me technically and he made it clear that he is in command of the camp and he ignored my suggestions to improve the security of the camp.
Guor Thar spits on the ground. His disdain for the noble is clearly evident.

OOC:
What does Rolana know about Lord Byron, given her position in the king's intelligence community?
May 29, 2018 3:04 am

@Rolana: You provably have a dossier on the Byran family but you wouldn't know much. The family have been loyal supporters of the crown for generations. Well know for their wealth and stupidity in equal measure. They pose absolutely no risk to the crown.

You could make a history check to see if you remember any more.

OOC:
@Hypco: Sorry Hypco. I think I may have misrepersented your intention there. No, your familiar has been dispelled.
May 29, 2018 3:19 am
OOC:
Let's give it a shot.

Nope, don't remember a thing!

At the mention of Lord Byron's name, Rolana/Sola suppresses an eyeroll and a sigh. Instead, she simply smiles, and if her teeth are gritted, it certainly isn't apparent to anyone who doesn't know her well. Ah, yes, Lord Byron. I've heard of him, naturally. I suppose we could speak with him, try to persuade him that his lack of fortifications are a danger to his troops, and by extension, the fort. Where could we find his lordship?
May 29, 2018 3:40 am

@Rolana. I should also add that the king probably knows this too. Therefore, you find it highly unlikely that the king appointed him commander of anything. It's much more likely that he assumed control in some sort of vain attempt to gain power and glory.

OOC:
Okay, just to be sure: I'll have to complete the ritual spell again to get him back and this doesn't apply (As an action while it is temporarily dismissed, you can cause it to reappear in any unoccupied space within 30 feet of you.) Correct?

OOC:
Even better!

OOC:
Good to know, thank you. Seeing as Codor did his job in allowing Fah'lin and Tinwe to remain invisible and Ryestro can no longer put his senses to scout of there, I will focus on exclusively flying to the fort.
