The day was everything but any of these. Hot, humid, and sticky, the exploration team that had landed a day ago had been drenched with sweat since the minute they walked off the transport as they were greeted with a forest of exceptionally green trees. The planet Nulander III on the far edge of Galactic Space was just the newest planet to fall under the thumb of the Empire. At least in theory if not actuality.
From reading reports on the planet (which are few and far between), the planet is inhabited by a few primitive locals. The planet is mostly forest with some plains areas dotted across the continents. The most striking feature is the fog that continually hangs near the top of the tall trees. The sky is rarely seen making the forest areas somewhat dim during the day and almost pitch black at night. No problem for Imperial technology but one would guess an aspect that has played a key role in the history of locals.
The quick structures set up by the expedition were arranged in somewhat of a square pattern around the main building/tent that housed the important officials of the exploration team. A few gun emplacements were set up at certain intervals around the semi-village although the amount of people in the expedition does not seem to warrant such security.
The goal of the expedition? Mostly unknown. Which makes an announcement from an Imperial officer asking all employees to assemble outside Captain Mikaels' tent a welcome break to the heavy humidity.
