OOC:
Unless stated otherwise assume all are normal, usually with a setback die. In this situation the setback is because you’re trying to stay inconspicuous. Also, in general, I’d rather you assume the difficulty and roll and I can edit later.

OOC:
oh, that’s right. My bad!
Lotus analyzes the situation...

Urban environment, large number of bystanders, busy location, Zusom noted as he looked around the intersection.

His gaze primarily focused on rooftops, calculating the angles and ideal sniper nests. Thinking where he would set up if he were making an ambush.

As they reach the intersection without incident, Hira can't help but feel uneasy with the sudden increase in activity around them. Nothing dangerous at first glance, of course, but she never did like crowds... Even if this crowd was positively tiny compared to what you dealt with on real urban worlds.

Glancing at the technology being loaded without being obvious, the former Imperial tries to learn just what the Empire was up to at this place...
OOC:
I like the idea of using mechanics to figure out the Empire's actions here a bit, or if that isn't feasible, get a read on the state of their equipment and potential surveillance. Due to Gearhead, I remove the Setback added to the check.

The intersection appears to be a completely ordinary urban layout. Like any urban environment, firing positions and ambush opportunities abound, but there doesn't seem to be any troops in the area, other than the clearly visible squad. As for the squad, they're either green, or bored, or both, because their formation is fairly sloppy and they don't seem to really be paying attention. The workers however, seem nervous. As one glances about, he locks eyes with Hira, catching her observing him. He motions to grab the attention of the Stormtroopers, but before they can react, one the Officers steps forward. He points toward a woman who is standing closest to the operation and the Stormtroopers respond to move her farther away from the operation. The Stormtroopers return to position as the last of the boxes is loaded. The Officers and Stormtroopers load into one of the haulers and roll off.

OOC:
Couple questions... Am I understanding that the imperial presence has now left the area? And would you like us to go ahead and spend any additional positive (or negative) results from the previous roll?
Jun 13, 2018 9:26 pm
OOC:
As far as you can tell, they're all gone. As to effects from the passive rolls, I've decided that I will incorporate those into my narration. In this instance the Threat caused the worker to take notice, but the Triumph caused the Officer to intervene.
Jun 13, 2018 10:50 pm
Quickly pulling her hood back over her silver eyes as they make contact with those of a worker, Hira is relieved to notice the officer intervene. That could've ended badly - they were apparently at least somewhat jumpy or concerned about 'locals'. At least nobody is getting shot yet - Hira probably couldn't just stand by if that happened. For now, she leans over towards Zusom and Lotus.

"Didn't manage to spot their cargo in detail. See any place to lay low till the appointed time to keep watch?" Keeping her voice down, Hira's hidden eyes scan the darker corners of the street, trying to make sure nobody is watching the rebels hidden in plain sight.
Jun 14, 2018 5:19 am
Lotus looks impatiently down the street, hoping to see the other teammates coming in a speeder. "I didn’t get a good look either. Do you think we could risk getting a little closer and seeing what’s inside the warehouse?"
Jun 15, 2018 9:36 pm
OOC:
The ball is in your court (for now), let me know what your next step is :)
Jun 15, 2018 10:13 pm
OOC:
Lotus is still focused on finding this contact, but that cargo has definitely caught his attention.

I guess we need to locate this Lt. Bern somehow. With no visible troops outside the warehouse, I say we make our way to the building and try to get in.
Lotus makes sure there aren't any more imperial troopers nearby, and waves the others to follow him to an entrance into the building.
Jun 18, 2018 3:54 pm
OOC:
Anything stopping us from moving up to the warehouse to take a peak inside? Otherwise, Lotus will be looking for their defector.

As the party moves up towards the warehouse, one of the men sitting outside the Cantina shouts, his words slightly slurred from the drink in front of him, "Hey! What do you lot think you're doing? Despite what the Empire," and he spits as he says that word, "may say, that's still my refinery. I may not be able to keep them out, but I sure as heck can keep a bunch of wanna-be thugs out."
OOC:
Just FYI, it's still broad daylight and hours before you're supposed to meet the defector. If you guys don't want to do anything else, you can just lay low until the appointed time.
Jun 19, 2018 9:00 pm
"Refinery?" Lotus looks at Zusom and Hira. "Oh, your refinery. Of course it is, sir! We are not here to interfere with your business, and our apologies for assuming it was open to the public."

Lotus moves closer to the man, and talks in a lower tone. "We do share, however, the similar disdain for the imperials here, especially interfering with legitimate dealings. We would all be better off if they weren't here, interfering with your...what is it you are refining?"
OOC:
I'm going to try a Charm check to see if we can get some more info from this guys. I'll add a setback, since we probably were too forward trying to walk into his warehouse, but I'll also add a boost since he seems a little drunk, and trying to show our similar hatred towards the empire.

The man's surly demeanor softens as Lotus mentions his dislike for the Empire. "Maybe I was a little hasty. Sit down, sit down. Let me buy you fine lads a drink." He motions to the waitress who brings another bottle and three glasses. "What am I refining you ask? Nothing, that's what I'm refining. Most of the refineries shut down when my grandfather was a boy, back when the mines went dry. But you gotta remember, dry is a relative term. Sure, there's not enough carvanium left here for the big boys like Vulca or Turlin to run a large scale operation, but there's plenty to keep the locals fed and happy. That's what I had been doing, before those Imperials showed up. They come, outta nowhere, and just open up all the old mines. At first we thought it was a blessing, a lot of good men went back to work. But, if they're trying to farm durasteel, they're doing it all wrong, because they haven't brought a single truck of ore back to the city since they got here. And I would know, since my refinery is really the only one left that can handle raw carvanium in any quantity. So I had to shut down. Then last week they swoop in and start scavenging parts from my machines without a word as to why. Some officer told me they're done with my stuff after today, but I'm too depressed to go in and see what they even left me."
Jun 22, 2018 10:57 pm
Lotus graciously takes one of the drinks the man offers, takes a seat, and listens to his tale.

He glances at his comrades, and back to the man. "So, the imperials are mining the carvanium, but they aren't refining it into the durasteel? Plus, they are scavenging your refinery? Wow. That is quite the story, boss. Do you think they are taking the carvanium or your parts off planet?"

"By the way, what's your name, boss? You can call me 'Tenac.'"
Jun 25, 2018 3:38 pm
"Burns is what everyone calls me. They're mining something, that's for damn sure. This planet has been occupied for thousands of years, and the only thing anyone ever found of value was the carvanium. So that's what I assume they're mining. But it's been months since anyone not in a white helmet has come back to town. The ships come and go, so they have plenty of opportunity to take stuff off, but it doesn't make sense. Raw ore is heavier and less valuable than refined ore, and my equipment isn't anything the Empire couldn't make in a day on a hundred worlds. If anyone knows what's going on out in the mines, they ain't told me."
Jun 26, 2018 8:39 pm
OOC:
I'm I the only one here now? :( I hate to be the only one making the decisions...
Jun 27, 2018 2:27 am
OOC:
I've been following along, but haven't said anything because it would basically be "Zusom stands there looking intimidating." I have no problems with Zusom basically being there to fix the party's gear and either scare or shoot people.
Jun 27, 2018 10:34 pm
"It doesn't make much sense, Burns. And it definitely has a 'bad smell' to it. Do you know were the mines are that the imperials seem to be exploiting?"
