"I like the way you think. I've got a flint and steel in my pack." Athas quietly picks the tinderbox from his backpack.

Bartholomew nods agreement with Kel. "Sah" he acknowledges and walks with Kel towards the large tent.

kel and Bart - heading in the direction of the main tent, one of the guards standing outside sees you coming and raises a hand to halt you, "Identify yourself and state your business!"

Kel points to himself then Bart, saying, "Kel Chesersk, Bartholomew. We're mercenaries, hoping to discuss signing on. You look like a well funded outfit, we want a share of the spoils, and we're willing to work towards that. Who do we talk to about that? Figured they'd be big-tent people." He gestures idly at the big tent.

Bartholomew remains quiet and let’s Kel do the talking.

Actaeon pulls out a cloth shirt from his set of extra travelers clothes, and rips the cloth apart, wrapping it around the arrow, and holds it to Athas to gesture lighting it up

Athas smiles as he strikes a spark onto the cloth. As the fire takes, he looks up at Actaeon. "So far... you're my favorite." He gives the archer space to pick his target.

The ranger grunts Actually... he puts out the flame, Don't hate me, but I want to try something real quick. Actaeon runs towards the lone guard, and says, Greetings! Are you doing okay alone?

Athas shrugs. Well, that was almost fun. He puts his tinderbox to the side, observing Actaeon from the edge of the camp.

Slate carefully checks the nearest bodies. Are they alive or dead and if alive would they be in a condition to move?

Kel & Bart (Yellow)
Kel please make a persuasion check.

Actaeon/Athas (Blue)
The guard is taken off guard by Actaeon's approach and brandishes his weapon in your direction, "What the hell do you think you are doing? Who are you? What group are you with, I don't recognize you?"

Slate (Green)
You reach out to inspect the closest body and as you do so it jumps at your touch. The head raises and you hear a hushed male voice, "Don't touch me, what are you doing? Who are you?"

The guard relaxes slightly, "Well you have come to the wrong place unless you want to be dead. For one, they ain’t in the tent right now. And two, go fucking find one of the mercenaries and join up with them." He chuckles, "If you’re lucky they won’t kill you either." The guard stands there waiting for you to walk away.

Actaeon flashes his family ring, Actaeon of the Astor clan. I'm a forward scout, and was returning to give a full report on greenest. Mind sharing with me with any info about plans since I've been gone scouting?

Kel smirks and nods his thanks as he turns away. "What did I say, there is no way they'd give us guard duty of the leadership right away. Guess we'll have to earn it the hard way."

He leads them toward the cave.

As Kel heads to the cave Bartholomew grabs his arm. "I’m curious about the prisoner, Sah." Bartholomew looks carefully at the prisoner. What race is he, how is he dressed, what condition is he in, how well is he guarded etc.

Kel looks over, and then turning away says back, "I have a spell to whisper to him over a distance. Anything you'd like to ask him?"
