The wide-stone steps lead down 70 steps and at the bottom is a cavern and torches mount the walls the point the way to an opening that leads into darkness. Grabbing a couple of torches to light the way, you enter the tunnel that takes you the edge of dark chasm. High above, massive threads dangle down into the chasm. The far side is approximately 20 feet away and dotted with cave openings.

Celia and Emma stare into the chasm and the jump across. Marc stands impassively as the back.

As if he was born for this moment, Larry heroically grabs the nearest thread like a vine and swings, one the other until he jumps the last couple of feet to the other side.

Out of the shadows comes a huge dark figure. When it comes near you see that there was a kind of face on the squat ebon body, low down amid the several-jointed legs. The face peers at Larry with small, crafty eyes that were circled about with hair.
