As part of Thorne's rounds, they administer drug treatments to aid sleep, tonight in tablet form.

If possible, Charlie would try to tuck the the tablets back by his molar, where the natural folds of his cheek would cover it. Logically, he expects the orderlies to check in front and under the tongue, but hopes this will work.

This is easy enough. As the nurse has no reason to expect you not to cooperate given you volunteered for this, so they don’t check.

Magnificent. For all intents and purposes, Charlie intends to behave in a cooperative manner. He will stay in bed, stay in the room, stay quiet. He's just not going to accept someone forcing him to sleep.

A couple of hours pass since going to bed. Going by the visits by the Dr and Nurse, you figure it must be around midnight when you hear a door open and shuffling. Peeking you see someone walk slowly past your door, mumbling. Moments later, Dr Thorne walks past, writing on a clipboard.
