Tomas had his eyes partially closed, face twitching once in a while, as he listened to the group. Memories, his own and not, flooded through his mind as he looked at this problem.
"I don't think going to this Alik is a priority, personally. Basic defenses and lookouts should be set-up before going on any wild goose chases. He might even be worse than unhelpful. Who's to say this 'Mad' man isn't the same magician who made these blood clones?

My suggestions: Runners to the hunters immediately, ask them to keep watch on and around the major roads to the Outpost. On their way back, the runners should hit some of the larger groupings of scattered farms and then get those farmers to spread the word. They'd know their neighbors better than anyone. Have them spread the word of the danger and to make their way back here with what crops they can bring - to be paid for, of course. As for our-" and he looks at the warriors to his left and right
"-move, I think we ought to stay nearby until the supply ship gets here. There could be marines or mercenaries on board to help defend the Outpost while we're away on a longer mission. I don't want to be gone for 2 to 6 days and find out the attack happened while we were gone with no lookouts having been set up. Right? So how far away is this half-orc lumberjack up the river? Within half a day's travel? If not, we might be better off training up some militia and staying put until the ship makes landfall."OOC:
Can you sketch out a really basic drawing (could just be dots near a coastline+river) of where all these places are in relation to us? I'm not sure where up-river of down-the-coast is relative to the cardinal directions.
Also, this suggestion is partially because I think it's best, partially because I want the group to get together before a long journey happens.
