[ +- ] Spring to Tomas

OOC:
@Arina does Moon have to look in the mirror to use it or touching it is enough to activate the effect?
Nov 22, 2018 12:08 pm
OOC:
She has to look into the mirror and will her appearance to change.
Nov 22, 2018 2:05 pm
OOC:
Good to know
I shrug and take one of costumes that appears to be my size.
Nov 22, 2018 2:14 pm
Yorrick pauses a second, then grabs a suit as well.
Nov 22, 2018 8:18 pm
Herod excitedly puts a suit on, and then puts on some drunken swagger, hoping that someone will be looking for a good time.
OOC:
Herod must seem more drunk.

"Well, I'm not too good at catching anyone unawares or getting close enough to watch what they're doing. So, I'll head down with you all but maybe stay back a bit while others figure out what's going on and what we have to do. This is all... pretty beyond me."

Tomas tries to scratch the top of his head and his fingertips only come to rest on top of the stupid brown hat with a grimace. He runs his fingers through his meager beard instead.

"... Yeah."

@Jond: some of the bears are human sized but many are quite small, like the kind a child might lovingly sleep with. It seems unlikely that the smaller ones contain a person in costume but the larger ones might. If you would like to find out then please roll a perception check.

@Herod: do you drunkenly swagger down the stairs or are you staying upstairs for the moment?
Nov 23, 2018 4:30 am
Herod goes down the stairs.

Stalwart eyes the larger bears before descending.

Observing the bears (Perception) - (1d20+2)

OOC:
With that roll, Stalwart "bearly" noticed anything.
Nov 23, 2018 10:58 am
I descend the stairs as well.
Nov 23, 2018 1:03 pm
Ok, so apart from Ronda I understand that you have all put on costumes and are descending the stairs.

You make your way down the stairs and the teddy bears continue dancing and singing. That is until you get within roughly five feet of one. Then it runs directly away from you. The rest of the bears do not seem to react at all. Also, after you move away, the bear returns to its position and continues dancing.

The creatures are obviously not real and are following some kind of program. As you move through the woods you disturb several bears who run away for a short time and return to their place after you have passed.

You make your way to the large gold door and notice a door handle and slightly above it you see a small, teddy bear shapped hole in the door.

What do you do?
Nov 23, 2018 2:09 pm
I glance at the door for a moment, then turn back to look at teddy bears.
OOC:
Moon is inspecting them for any distinctive features, like something "key" shaped? :D

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+6)

(13) + 6 = 19

Ronda watches from the top of the stairs. "This is bullshit." she grumbles to Rousey. "The crazy coot's toying with us!" Despite her ridicule, she's convinced the teddy bears qould attack her if she went down there without a costume. But if a fight's going to break out anyway, better be ready. She draws a javelin and gauges the distance if she were to leap down.

Arwen, who has been muttering the song under his breath this whole time, looks up when he sees the keyhole. So... I have two theories... First is that the bears run away from us only when we get close. If we surround a bear, we could corral it here by moving together.
Nov 24, 2018 2:35 am
"Sounds fair. What was your second one?" asks Tomas off-handedly, fists resting on his hips as he casts a skeptical look over the gaudy barrier in their way.
OOC:
Are the bears all singing the same song? Are there any lyrics to their song(s)?
Nov 24, 2018 3:39 am
"To add to what Arwen said, that infernal song says we must catch them unawares. Does anyone have any invisibility spells? I offer to grapple one but I"m not sneaky on my own."
Nov 24, 2018 5:17 am
I haven't figured out invisibility yet... And I didn't prepare anything that directly improves stealth... However, I can make you a bit more dextrous for a while. Would that help?
OOC:
I have guidance and enhance ability prepared.
