OOC:
Sorry guys. What I meant to say is that the Monestary is about 2 days away but it would take about 5 days to get to the monestary and return to Berda. Visiting the Druid's grove will take you three days. 2 to get there and 1 to get from there to Berda.

But yes, the tower is 2 days from both places lol.

I understand that the holidays are upon us and that we are all very busy atm. Still, I would like to move the story forward. As of this moment, the next move is to head back to Berda. If you would like to suggest a jew course of action, please do so in the next 24 hours.

I think that it makes sense that we go straight for the goal. To go anywhere out of the way on a hope that we might find more support is just robbing ourselves of preparation time for the inevitable. Maybe we could send word to anybody that you guys may know that could help on the way, but not spend days wasting the little time we have.
OOC:
My vote is currently to go straight to Berda, unless somebody convinces me otherwise.

"I agree with Yorrick."

"I must add, it seems we cannot win this battle by conventional means. We need a better plan than the enemy has. One good method is to divide their forces somehow, possibly by creating some in-fighting between the troops. Disabling enemy leaders is a good way to do this. And once we get to Berda, we need to set traps such as hidden pits. Perhaps we can enlist some unlikely allies, such as wild beasts?"

Tomas nods at his fellow half-elf.

"Good ideas. I was thinking myself that we ought to go meet with the druid. What better to serve as a scout in the Forest than those that call it their home? So, returning to Berda and then west to the Druid's Grove?"
Dec 27, 2018 5:25 pm
"Aye, I have found druids to be valuable allies.

iNot to split a party I just joined, but would there be an advantage to some of us staying in Berda to work on defenses while others visit the Druid's Grove? Do you know of anyone else who may be inclined to help that we can visit?"
OOC:
Based on my backstory, I am assuming Stalwart's elven clan didn't interact regularly with outside groups so he doesn't have much geographical knowledge beyond the clan area. Please let me know if I assume incorrectly.

Oh, and Happy Holidays to everyone!

My interactions with druids have not always been happy occasions. They do tend to value the forest and know it well, though. I caught one tree on fire and put it out pretty quickly. They still found me only a few days later.

Come to think of it, that would be a useful skill set to have on our side. Still, I think that we need to reinforce Berda as our primary goal. Could we send a messenger while we take charge in Berda?

OOC:
All excellent suggestions. You would know that the wilderness surrounding Berda us quite dangerous, so splitting the party or sending a messenger would be dangerous. Also, you could go to Berda first and then head to the Druid's grove but that would be a little inefficient. Say 1 day to get to Berda, 1 day from Berda to the grove and 1 day to get back again vs.,
1 day of fast travel to get to the grove and 1 day to get to Berda.

"Time is not our ally. I vote we go to the grove, then Berda."

It doesn't take much longer and may gain us a powerful ally. I am in support.

Tomas shrugs, smiles, and nods - as he continues nourishing himself for the road.

He looks over at Moon, Ronda, and Arwen - each who haven't spoken up in a while, curious about their opinions.

Ok everyone, just so you know you'll have to book it to make it to the grove in a day. I would like you all to make constitution saving throws please. Plus, I would like one of you to make a survival check to navigate the cross country path.

Constitution save - (1d20+1)

(19) + 1 = 20

OOC:
Yorrick has a +5 to survival, but no ranger skills. I don't think that any of us do, so I will go ahead and make the roll.

I think I got us lost... that pretty much sums up Yorrick's life in the woods.

The good news is that you all managed to withstand the rapid pace of your journey without exhausing yourselves. The bad news is that Yorrick got you pretty badly lost on your cross country jaunt.

As a consequence, you managed to make it to the druid's grove but it took you an extra half a day longer than planned.

You arrive at the grove at midday the following day. You can tell that you've arrived at a spectacular place. The forest seems crisp, cultivated but still wild and untamed.

You arrive at a strange sight, you see a small gnome bending down to pick some flowers beneath a giant redwood tree. Above her you see the biggest spider you have ever seen creeping down the trunk towards her.

What do you do?

Stalwart raises his left arm to stop the party behind him. He reminds the others, "All living creatures are sacred in a druid's sanctuary."

He politely calls toward the gnome, "Madam, there's a spider above you that may need your attention!"
