Ronda quickly drops into a fighting stance the instant Duke goes for his handaxe. She doesn't relax even when it becomes apparent the axe wasn't meant for her or her companions. "A tarantula-sized tarantula? So a normal-sized tarantula then. No, I didn't see it."

"Honestly, can we talk somewhere else? What are we sticking around this deathtrap for? Hey, did you hear that? There's someone else over here!" Ronda goes to tear open the wriggling mass from which she heard a female voice.

There are no other obvious blue and orange spiders in the room. No one apart from Duke has seen a blue spider. The giant spiders are a mottled browny grey colour.

@Duke: You were not fighting, so it is strapped to your back.

I'm standing as far back as possible, enjoying the show.

Duke puts away his weapons as there is no immediate attack from the spider, pulls his glowing shield off his back and straps it on his arm. "Where is this place?" And with a second thought he pulls out handaxe to keep it handy.

Stalwart readies his greatsword and looks around the room again. He tries to remember all the different types of beasts he's seen or heard about.

Rolls

Remembering beast information (Nature) - (1d20+2)

(2) + 2 = 4

As a giant spider, I have web sense.
[ +- ] Web Sense
This is probably a long shot, but would I notice any more of the little spiders around, or really any interesting creatures?
Feb 1, 2019 1:28 pm
@Yorrick: You're not on a web in as much as the floor, walls and ceiling are covered in webbing. However, there is a massive web at the back of the room, about 30 feet away. Oli is making her way towards it. You are more than welcome to join her. Once you come into contwct with that web, your Web Sense will kick in.
OOC:
As a side note. I give druids one animal wild shape per level. So you can curreny turn into a giant spider and 2 other animals (Your Choice). If you wish to gain additional wild shapes let me know and I'll let you make a roll for it during your down time.

Jabes.plays.rpg says:
Ronda goes to tear open the wriggling mass from which she heard a female voice.
OOC:
So is Ronda able to free Nivernia?

OOC:
Yes. You manage to free her. No roll required. I was kinda waiting for her to respond.
Feb 2, 2019 8:17 pm
Yorrick will follow Oli towards the web.

@Jabes:
OOC:
Our newest player can't make it, so...
Ronda opens the cacoon but there is nothing but a long dead dessicated corpse. You have no idea where that voice came from.
Feb 3, 2019 1:40 pm
Oli makes it part of the way up the web. She is about 25 feet ahead of Yorrick when out of nowhere a massive, and I don't mean giant spider big, at least twice the size if not three times, blue spider with bright orange legs, pops out of nowhere and sinks its fangs into Oli. Her giant spider form disappears and she yells
Run! That's not a spider. It's a fucking demon! she falls to the floor at the base of the web. You're not sure if she is still conscious. She looks pretty rough.
OOC:
Please roll initiative and take your first turns.
Feb 3, 2019 1:52 pm
Ronda is confused by the empty cocoon. She could've sworn-- but then all hell breaks loose.

Doesn't look like his question is going to get answered.

Ah. Smiles. Well 12 is okay I guess. At least I have a weapon in hand and an armed shield.

Yorrick shrinks back in surprise briefly, then quickly prepares for battle.

He believes that this giant spider can mimic human speech, and that is terrifying, but it needs to die.

OOC:
I realise it has been a very long time since we have had a combat encounter, so just a quick refresher on how we do combat here. This is also relevant for the new players!

Rather than going in initiative order, everyone has 24 hours to take their turn. Then I will write up the round into an action sequence and then we go again. You do not need to wait for anyone. Just post as soon as you get the chance. If you don't make your post within 24 hours you will miss your turn for the round, but don't worry, you can still take a turn in the following round.

If the rules are clear, go ahead and take your first turn. If not, please make a post in the ooc thread and I will go over the rules in more detail.

OOC:
So, the way I understand it, we roll for initiative, attack, and damage and you put everything in the correct order based on initiative sequence.
Stalwart raises Heaven's Call and runs up to the demon. "For Oli!"

(11) + 1 = 12

Attack with Heaven's Call - (1d20+5)

(20) + 5 = 25

(46) + 3 = 13

Thorn Whip damage (sword feature) - (1d6)

(3) = 3
