Following the Phoenix you all make your way to the large spider web at the back of the cavern. It seems to go up for ever, but using the light of thr phoenix you do see a small alcove about 50 feet above you.
OOC:
Athletics checks to climb the spider web please.

Yorrick looks up at the climb and thinks "This has never been my strong suit..."

He takes a step up to the web, immediately gets his ankle wrapped, and ends up dangling only a few feet off the ground.
This is exactly why I made the mutagen to begin with!, he says while struggling.

Why are simple things so hard, sometimes?

She has climbing speed

OOC:
@Moon. Yeah, no problem.

Duke isn't particularly nimble but he is fairly strong. He makes his way up the climb. Well at least it looks like easiest way out.

(6) + 4 = 10

You all make you way up the web (or beside it in Moon's case) without any trouble. Ronda, Stalwart Moon and Duke all make it to the ledge when you hear Yorrick cry out. It seems in his overconfidence he placed his food on an old web which snapped. You look and see that he is now hanging from a strand of web overlooking a 50 foot drop. He is about 15 feet away from the wall and there are no strands of web close to him.

What do you do?

Yorrick looks calmer than he should, given the situation.

Guys... I have a problem. I'm running out of juice and seem to be stuck. I've got one or two more tricks that may help me get up, but no guarantees there. Any ideas?
OOC:
Maybe this would be the perfect time to take an upside down short rest?

I take out one piton, hammer it into the wall, get the rope, secure it on the piton and throw one end down to the dangling man.

— Use this. And one of you that has more muscle, help him.

OOC:
@Yorrick: I'll assume that one of the others takes the help action, so please make an athletics check with advantage.
Mar 2, 2019 3:58 pm
OOC:
Sorry. I was on a business trip for a few days..
"Great thinking, Moon. I'll do what I can to help." Stalwart holds the rope to pull up Yorrick.

I will give you a hand too. Duke will aid as best he can.

OOC:
Let's see if Yorrick dies to a long drop.
Yorrick will use guidance and attempt to climb again.

Rolls

Athletics with Advantage - (1d20-1, 1d20-1)

1d20-1 : (11) - 1 = 10

1d20-1 : (3) - 1 = 2

Guidance bonus - (1d4)

(3) = 3

The two of you manage to pull Yorrick up and he avoids a rather nasty fall. The three of you take a moment to cstch your breaths.

Meanwhile, you see that the ledge does indeed open up into a narrow passage that leads deeper into the mountain.

Duke's phoenix flys ahead and it seems to be leading you to something, so you follow.

At the end of the passage, the tunnel opens up into a massive cavern. You can't even see how big it is. However, your attention is drawn to the phoenix who is hovering over what appears to be some strange writing written in a very neat hand near the entrance to the tunnel which leads to the egg chamber. The writing appears to be elvish but it is archaic, and strange.
OOC:
If you know elvish and wish to decipher the script please give me a history check.
