"We should return to Oli's grove, enjoy the fresh air, eat, and rest. It may be the last time we see such beauty in a while. Then we can head to Berda."
OOC:
Unless the grove is in the other direction. But basically, I vote for a short rest.

Well any path out of here sounds to be a winner. He calls the Phoenix back to him.
Mar 8, 2019 4:23 am
Oli, could you please get us out of these caves?
Mar 9, 2019 10:46 am
You all make your way out of the caves. Oli takes the lead and the remaining giant spiders give you a respectfully wide birth, scurrying out of the way as you approach. All except for Jeremy, who waits patiently for Oli at the entrance to the cave. He falls into step beside Oli and the rest of you follow he back to her grove.

The walk takes the better part of an hour and it is early in the afternoon, when you have a late lunch, in the shade of a massive oak tree next to a large pond.
OOC:
You all get the benefits of a short rest.
Moving forwards, you need to decide how you would like to get back to Berda. Would one of you like to lead or are you happy to let Oli guide you?

OOC:
I vote to let Oli lead.

OOC:
Moon has no idea where Berda is, so she's just chilling :D

Yorrick isn't feeling real confident in his navigating ability. He is happy to follow this round.

Duke follows as he doesn't know where to lead to.
Mar 11, 2019 2:27 pm
"Oli, please lead the way. Your expertise is much appreciated."
Mar 13, 2019 4:25 pm
Yorrick addresses the group during their travel.
So... Is anybody that was bitten feeling weird? Any super powers coming in or maybe a sudden, inexplicable love for the full moon?
Mar 13, 2019 5:50 pm
"What the hell are you talkin' about?" Ronda growls, peering at her bite marks, which are still visible though they have healed. Rousey comes out and sniffs at the reddish welts.
Mar 13, 2019 7:10 pm
I'm just trying to be careful. I'd hate to be surprised by a werespider.

Yorrick has no idea if this is a real thing. He's kind of just making conversation.
Mar 13, 2019 7:18 pm
"Wait, what? Werespider?! Listen, if I ever sprout six extra legs and a whole lotta eyes, you gotta promise to keep Rousey safe. I don't know if I could live with myself if I ate him!" Hearing this, the rat squeaks in alarm and scurries off to his nest in Ronda's pocket.

I should hope we don't have to worry about that. Far too many of us were bitten. And he adds on, To be sure I have no cures for such an affliction too.

It seems that your trust is well placed as Oli appears to know every plant and animal as she navigates your way back to Berda flawlessly, even managing to make up for the time you lost when you got lost looking for her grove.

So good is Oli at navigating, you manage to avoid all of the dangers, animal and otherwise, and arrive back at Berda without incident.

Upon your arrival you see that the town is busy preparing for a siege. A massive half orc is supervising the majority of the residents as they dig a defensive ditch, with the goal of diverting a small river to create a moat. You see that a wooden palisade has been erected around the small town. It is obviously new as you can still smell the glue holding it all together.

The wood of the wall and dozen or so buildings inside the town is black, the signature of the Berda wood, a very strong wood, which the town is named after.

Ronda leads you into The Hunter's Mark, the Inn, where she knows the defence is being organised.

You see two marines dressed in red uniforms guarding the entrance to the inn, but you all pass through without a problem as the guards seem to recognise Ronda.

In the common room of the inn you see that one of the large tables has a map of the area and behind the table you see a woman in a similar uniform to the marines reading through several papers.

As you enter she looks up from her papers, raises an eyebrow, smiles as she recognises Ronda and says
Ronda? Good to see you. Report? you're not entirely sure whether that last word was a question or an order.
OOC:
@RondaYou will remember that this is Ms. Bella Fraught, lieutenant of the marines and she has taken charge of the defence of the town.

On a side note. Thank you for your patience everyone. My partner just got back last night, so we should be fine to continue from now on.

Oli's Navigation - (1D20+8)

(20) + 8 = 28

"Well, the mad mage was a bust. And we lost some people on the way, but we did gather some new recruits." Ronda says, gesturing at her new companions before crossing her muscled arms. Never one for words, that seems to be the extent of the half-orc's "report."
Mar 15, 2019 4:29 pm
With a break in the report, I'm Duke and a Master Carpenter. I can see you have done well here and offer my services as far as Tempus will allow. Duke does try to keep it short. Seeing all is busy.

OOC:
Is the bald one with the coin still with the group? If not - Moon would do some stuff during their travel
Mar 15, 2019 6:52 pm
Stalwart bows to the lieutenant. "My name is Jond of Mithril Arden. I offer my sword, my experience, and the abilities that Rao has graciously given me."

"Do we have reliable estimates of the size and composition of the enemy forces? How does our defending force compare against it?

OOC:
@Moon: No, the bald one with the coin has left the group some time ago. Before you went into the spider's den.
