I guess I need to know 4 things. What kind of traps are you going to make? Where are you going to put them? How are you going to hide them? Where are you going to hide?Apr 9, 2019 2:48 am

That plan makes sense to me. Yorrick will give Ronda a casting of bull's strength if it will help her finish in time. That would last for the whole hour. Other than that, Yorrick could turn into a giant spider and create a literal funnel of web between some posts in the ground. That would definitely make it look like a trap, though.Apr 9, 2019 6:44 am

May we have a map of the area in which we are setting up the ambush? The placement of traps and our hiding places depend on the terrain and the path the scouts take. Ideally, I'd like to back up the scouts against the water to reduce their chance of escape. My thoughts on the types of traps: our main trap is the hidden pit trap with spikes. Our goal is to get as many scouts into the pit so we can more easily dispatch them. With our limited time, the other traps have to be simple too. Ropes in the right place could trip the horses, or if placed higher up, knock the riders off the horses. Yorrick's webbing above would help direct the scouts toward the pit, as would obvious devices such as caltrop, although some caltrops can be hidden in the sand too. Bear traps at the bottom of the pit trap would definitely do damage and keep them from moving on.

Our ambush spot would be in a place the scouts would have to cross to get to Berda. We wouldn't want them spread out and missing it. Also, our hiding place would be between after the pit trap in the direction of Berda, so we could try to stop any survivors of the traps.I'm sure the others have more creative trap ideas.

Why don't we go with two general rolls. I'm happy with the athletics check results to dig the pit. Ronda's nat 20 takes care of that.
Now I would like Moon to make a theives tools check to set the traps and all of you to make stealth checks.

My wildshape persists for an hour, so I would like to make the stealth check in that form if it is alright.Yorrick's version of a giant spider is functionally invisible.

Where did Yorrick go? :-)Stalwart considers a role as bait to lead the orcs into the trap. :-)

Yeah, jesus! @Yorrick: Is your webbing visible or are you trying to be stealthy and hide it?Apr 10, 2019 3:39 am
OOC:
The point of the web is to push them toward the water, so I want it to be mostly visible. If one ran into it and got stuck, I wouldn't complain, but the idea is to push them toward the pit, not to slow them via the web itself.[ +- ] Yorrick Hiding

About an hour passes and you all take your positions and shortly afterwards you see a small dust cloud approaching. Obviously, the orc scouts. You see the leader of the orcs, a massive brute with a top knot of purple dyed hair riding at the front.
As he approaches your position he gets to within about 60 feet when he holds up a clenched fist and stops his mount. The others stay a few paces behind their leader. What do you do?

Just to restate. There are 12 orcs in total. 11 plus the leader.load next
